2 out of 5 eggsPretty Dissatisfied

Pros: -On paper, this laptop had good specs for its price. Can't seem to make good use of them though.
-Lightweight

Cons: -Takes far too much time to boot up, even with Windows 10.
-Has trouble running multiple applications for long periods of time: ie multiple word documents and PDFs open throughout the day. Won't even get into the trouble it has when I leave my engineering applications running.
-Just cheaply made: I transport my laptop daily and already the screen is looking beat up, the keyboard looks shabby, and the battery has started warning me that it needs to be replaced after less than a year of use. The same battery also only gave me about 4 hours of use while unplugged, which would have been really cool in 2006.
-Sound issues: has trouble sometimes recognizing that my headphones are plugged in and makes no sound at all. On board speakers are pretty weak as well.

Other Thoughts: Would not recommend, especially if you're in my position and use your computer for heavy computations such as simulations that last hours. I understand this is not meant to be a engineering grade work station, but really can't I leave 3 PDFs open at once and come back an hour later and expect the thing to not take 10 minutes to wake up from sleep mode? Overall a shabby, low quality device. If I had the budget I would replace it within a year.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat Laptop but defective

Pros: -Great spec (i7)
-Sleek design
-Light weight

Cons: Faulty Battery: The battery is buggy. I have had three separate occasions when the battery is shown to be at a higher percentage (>1 hour remaining) and then shortly afterwards drops to 6% and then finally turns off.

Faulty Touchpad: The touchpad left click, right click and tapping functions intermediately cease to work. The mouse is still moving, so the trackpad is somewhat still functioning. I have re-installed the drivers and the issue persists.

I will be contacting Lenovo for these issues as the laptop is relatively still new and hardly used.

1 out of 5 eggsDon;t Buy Lenova -Viruses

Pros: great Machine but read cons.

Cons: Really you have the audacity to put spyware on the computer. Super fish, Newegg should not continue to sell there products because a company who intentionally puts malwrre on there computers can never be trusted.

Other Thoughts: Stop buying all of there products. Consumers wake up to this scam. You could become a victim of identity thieft.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Notebook - No problems

Pros: Fast. lightweight, slim

Cons: None so far, touchpad overly sensitive as others have mentioned.

Other Thoughts: Don't understand all the negative comments. My first Lenovo after my 10 year old Toshiba just slowed to a crawl. So far so good. I'm loving this notebook.

1 out of 5 eggsYour paying to be hacked.

Pros: None

Cons: Do not purchase this product. It came with Superfish and immediately upon use became bombarded with man-in-the middle attacks. Lenovo tech support would not help without us purchasing a service plan (essentially paying them money to remove their malware.) I was also extremely disappointed in newegg's response... which was essentially to pass the buck.

1 out of 5 eggsJunk

Pros: - Slim
-Programs are snappy thanks to the nice processor

Cons: Yikes, where to start

-Comes preloaded with bloatware aplenty, so prepare to format upon receiving the laptop

- Battery life is laughably bad. Lasts for maybe an hour when I'm just browsing the internet with Spotify on in the background

-No mic jack

Other Thoughts: I wish I hadn't purchased it

4 out of 5 eggsPretty good but one thing

Pros: Its pretty thin, not as bulky as most Laptops, runs pretty quick, I did a bunch of uninstalling the pre-installed apps/programs they put into it, overall its a nice laptop.

Cons: The screen gets dirty extremely quickly, dust sticks to the screen very easily and hard to get off.

5 out of 5 eggsRelax people. This laptop is great

Pros: Fast, light, skinny, great price, and even greater specs. If you don't like windows 8.1 then you're probably an idiot.

Cons: My only beef with this laptop is that it's bigger than your standard 15.6" I know it's a stupid complaint but it BARELY Fits into my 15" case logic bag.

Other Thoughts: Relax people (other reviewers) and learn some computing. Trackpad sucks? No bull. All trackpads suck. Get yourself a bluetooth / usb mouse and go into Elan Touchpad settings and tell it to disable whenever you have another mouse plugged in. Problem solved.

Too much bloatware? Yes we all hate bloatware. Run a sysprep can call it a day and in a few minutes you have a nice new CLEAN computer.

"Hit the windows key + r to bring up the run command and then type sysprep and hit enter"

1 out of 5 eggsLenovo's are usually good but....

Pros: I've had a few Lenovo's in the past and have been very happy with them - this one offers good overall performance, seemingly high build quality at a good price point

Cons: BAD TOUCHPAD - BAD customer service.

Other Thoughts: Ever since I received this G50 the touchpad would intermittently behave erratically. Given that this is an ELAN tp I thought this may be a driver issue, so I updated it, as well as tried different drivers nothing helped. So it seems to be a HW issue. Lenovo customer service was no help - this appears to be a chronic issue with Lenovo's using the ELAN Touchpads - so avoid any and all of these Lenovo's at all costs or you will me stuck with paying to ail it back to them.

5 out of 5 eggsReliable machine

Pros: High up-time without issues
great display
fast response time/boot time
everything I was looking for

Cons: Came pre-loaded with a fair amount of junk (but easily removed)

Other Thoughts: Overall I think this is a really nice machine. I bought this for my wife recently after 2 Asus laptops in a row died on us within 6 months each. So far this machine has been going strong without any issues, has no problems remaining up for an extended period, and is very responsive and lightweight for a reasonable price.

The only downside in my mind (as others have mentioned) is it does come preloaded with a fair amount of junk. Unlike others I just don't see this is a big deal. It's very easy to uninstall stuff and clean up the system. I didn't need to in this case, but historically I've been happy to go through a windows format if the bloatware really bugged me. I do that periodically on most of my systems anyway, so doing it from the beginning just doesn't seem unreasonable.
