1 out of 5 eggsShame on you, Lenovo

This review is from: Lenovo Miix 2 11 FHD (59435483) 2-in-1 Tablet Intel Core i5 4202Y (1.60 GHz) 8 GB LPDDR3 256 GB SSD Intel HD Graphics 4200 11.6" 1920 x 1080 Touchscreen 5 MP Rear Camera Windows 8.1 64-Bit

Pros: Small, light and very portable. Good battery life. You won't pull out your shoulder when you decide to chuck it out the window.

Cons: Absolutely horrible product all around.
1) The i5 processor "detunes" itself to 600MHz (67% under advertised specs!) as soon as you do anything processor intensive, causing lag and stuttering. It performs worse than a netbook I own that has an old Atom processor. You can't watch HD video. Advancing PowerPoint slides results in a 1 - 2 second delay (!).
2) It uses plastic, weak components. The proprietary USB / charging port stopped making a solid connection after 8 months under gentle use. Replacing the motherboard is the only way to fix it. Lenovo will tell you it's not covered by the warranty because you physically damaged it. (By using it?)
3) The screen sits in the keyboard base at a fixed angle. You WILL find this greatly annoying.
4) The screen does not sit in the base solidly and can fall out or rock back and forth easily (making it lose the connection the keyboard). This makes it almost impossible to use on your lap. So, yes, you're forced to use this ultraportable 2 in 1 on a flat, level surface... don't even think about writing an email in bed.

Other Thoughts: Don't be fooled by the specs. In real use, you're buying a tablet with a 600MHz processor. (Contact me for screen shots if you're interested.) Do not buy the Miix 2 11 at any price or with any configuration. It's a dog.

2 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Lenovo Miix 2 11 FHD (59435483) 2-in-1 Tablet Intel Core i5 4202Y (1.60 GHz) 8 GB LPDDR3 256 GB SSD Intel HD Graphics 4200 11.6" 1920 x 1080 Touchscreen 5 MP Rear Camera Windows 8.1 64-Bit

Pros: The specs are what enticed me to buy

Cons: Garbage Build, the thing won't power up anymore after 6 months of ownership. All it saw was light office document work and youtube videos.

Other Thoughts: After 6 months of ownership and newegg won't help me out but tells me to contact the manufacturer. guess what ... Lenovo doesn't support this product because they no longer make it ... that makes be double out of luck on this product .... great experience when i finally decide to put money down on a big ticket item here ...

2 out of 5 eggsHorrible buy!

This review is from: Lenovo Miix 2 11 FHD (59435483) 2-in-1 Tablet Intel Core i5 4202Y (1.60 GHz) 8 GB LPDDR3 256 GB SSD Intel HD Graphics 4200 11.6" 1920 x 1080 Touchscreen 5 MP Rear Camera Windows 8.1 64-Bit

Pros: The tablet part of the laptop I would give 5 stars. Lenovo did absolutely amazing with the specifications for the price! But.... the cons...

Cons: The keyboard dock on the other hand is the worst one my hands have laid on. You cannot adjust the angle of the tablet while it is in the keyboard dock and it falls out of the dock very, very easily! Also the placement of then numbers on the keyboard are moved over one spot than any other keyboard; therefore, if you type without looking you will make a mistake every single time. Also, typing more that five sentences your hands start hurting because it is so uncomfortable. Overall, I bought this for $630 and the tablet part is worth $600 and the keyboard was $30. It is definitely functional as a tablet, but not a laptop. Being an engineer major, I went and bought the Lenovo Yoga Pro 2 and I am absolutely inlove!

4 out of 5 eggsExcelent little work tablet.

This review is from: Lenovo Miix 2 11 FHD (59435483) 2-in-1 Tablet Intel Core i5 4202Y (1.60 GHz) 8 GB LPDDR3 256 GB SSD Intel HD Graphics 4200 11.6" 1920 x 1080 Touchscreen 5 MP Rear Camera Windows 8.1 64-Bit

Pros: This little guy is great for anything school or business related. Boots in a pinch and looks great. Its extremely convenient to pull out and do quick Google searches in tablet form and preforms well in laptop mode as well. I recommend to anyone that's in school or is on the go for business a lot.

Cons: The keyboard does not connect immediately every once and a while and the screen sometimes feels a little small (Lowered the resolution a tad to fix). My biggest complaint is the absolutely atrocious track pad but I use a wireless mouse so no biggie.

4 out of 5 eggsGood but not great

This review is from: Lenovo Miix 2 11 FHD (59435483) 2-in-1 Tablet Intel Core i5 4202Y (1.60 GHz) 8 GB LPDDR3 256 GB SSD Intel HD Graphics 4200 11.6" 1920 x 1080 Touchscreen 5 MP Rear Camera Windows 8.1 64-Bit

Pros: Light, Bright (once you turn off adaptive brightness), and Tiny.

Cons: It was too tiny for me, and I needed a bit more of a laptop for my needs, so I returned it for an Core i7 - Yoga 2 Pro I purchased on *the largest online auction website*

I constantly thought the tablet was going to fall out of the keyboard cradle when it was on my lap (it never did however, but I only owned it for a week)

The keyboard was hard to type on, and also had issues because it doesn't support two finger scrolling like every other touchpad I've used in recent years.

Other Thoughts: It wasn't terrible, as a companion tablet or a web-surfer, it was very good for that.

Personally I wanted to compile some arduino projects and run visual studio from time to time, and I felt it didn't have the 'oomph' for that.

1 out of 5 eggsDesign Flaws

This review is from: Lenovo Miix 2 11 FHD (59435483) 2-in-1 Tablet Intel Core i5 4202Y (1.60 GHz) 8 GB LPDDR3 256 GB SSD Intel HD Graphics 4200 11.6" 1920 x 1080 Touchscreen 5 MP Rear Camera Windows 8.1 64-Bit

Pros: Clear crisp screen and fast response time

Cons: Keys on the keyboard are not in the same locations as on a standard keyboard. I was unable to type accurately on this keyboard. The manner in which the laptop is to close is poorly designed. It slams shut when trying to close and the keyboard is not securely attached to the tablet portion. I only used once and decided to return due to the inability to type on the keyboard. I purchased a Lenovo Yoga and have been extremely happy.

3 out of 5 eggsNot perfect but Satisfied

This review is from: Lenovo Miix 2 11 FHD (59435483) 2-in-1 Tablet Intel Core i5 4202Y (1.60 GHz) 8 GB LPDDR3 256 GB SSD Intel HD Graphics 4200 11.6" 1920 x 1080 Touchscreen 5 MP Rear Camera Windows 8.1 64-Bit

Pros: Beautifully designed. Use magnetic to dock makes it very easy to attach / detach , High resolution (Fonts are so tiny that it might drain your concentration or hurt your eyes when you use it for a long time). Brightness are pretty okay to me. (I only use this indoor) System Running smoothly.

Cons: Video card was somewhat slow. Camera quality aren't that great are are lagging... Docking wasn't perfect. The Keyboard needs to be tilted back and forward couple times and might have to wait a bit before it can be detected.

Other Thoughts: I bought mine on black friday. Great deal for what I have. So overall I'm satisfied. But If I would have bought it at regular price such as $1,099. I would say this is not worth the price.

2 out of 5 eggsJUST RECEIVED... 1st Thoughts

This review is from: Lenovo Miix 2 11 FHD (59435483) 2-in-1 Tablet Intel Core i5 4202Y (1.60 GHz) 8 GB LPDDR3 256 GB SSD Intel HD Graphics 4200 11.6" 1920 x 1080 Touchscreen 5 MP Rear Camera Windows 8.1 64-Bit

Pros: Hardware... 8gig, 256 sad, I5 Intel

Cons: Screen resolution/brightness is lacking... Less than my Surface. If you plan to use the keyboard it's worthless.
Mine is hooked to a external keyboard and monitor so it was never my intent to use their keyboard... The external keyboard and monitor work fine. But why would Lenovo even design a keyboard so poorly when they have other brands to judge from. Video card appears lacking... Fonts not as sharp when compared to my other laptop and Microsoft surface. At THIS POINT I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. Will provide further updates. Before you purchase do see in person or have the ability for full return. Biggest complaint is worthless keyboard.

3 out of 5 eggsOne Fatal Flaw

This review is from: Lenovo Miix 2 11 FHD (59435483) 2-in-1 Tablet Intel Core i5 4202Y (1.60 GHz) 8 GB LPDDR3 256 GB SSD Intel HD Graphics 4200 11.6" 1920 x 1080 Touchscreen 5 MP Rear Camera Windows 8.1 64-Bit

Pros: - Price for specs (paid $650 new from Newegg)
- 1080p touchscreen works perfectly
- Solid state drive boots in seconds and runs flawlessly
- 8 GB Ram is more than enough
- Battery life and performance balance
- JBL speakers w/dock are impressive
- Windows 8.1 64 Bit pairs well with unit

Cons: - Screen angle is fixed while docked
- Keyboard is cramped, but very usable
- Touchpad isn't multi-touch
- 1080p video streaming issues (see other thoughts)

Other Thoughts: If you're going to use this for streaming HD video from Netflix/Amzon beware. Anything that uses Silverlight to stream HD video won't work. 1080p streaming for Youtube (Adobe Flash) works perfectly. Netflix HD streaming only works with Internet Explorers HTLM5 player, Firefox and Chrome don't play smoothly. This unit meets the minimum requirements of Silverlight (1.6 GHz processor and 512 Mb of RAM), but it needs to overclock for some reason to 1.6-1.7 Ghz and then will down throttle to .5 Ghz and begin dropping frames and video becomes choppy/stuttering. I tried everything, 4 different browsers, turn on all performance power options, toggle hardware acceleration, and nothing works.

This product is great, but the HD video playback is annoying and frustrating because it is extremely misleading to have a 1080p screen that is limited in streaming 1080p video. Intel, Lenovo, and Microsoft dropped the ball on this and I may return it because of that.

4 out of 5 eggsLenovo Miix 2 11

This review is from: Lenovo Miix 2 11 FHD (59435483) 2-in-1 Tablet Intel Core i5 4202Y (1.60 GHz) 8 GB LPDDR3 256 GB SSD Intel HD Graphics 4200 11.6" 1920 x 1080 Touchscreen 5 MP Rear Camera Windows 8.1 64-Bit

Pros: i5 cpu, 8 gb ram, Samsung SSD 256 gb. System runs smooth, hd tune benchmark tested the ssd at 354 MB/s read speed. Decent speakers, bought it for $599, unbeatable for the specs. Good SP3 alternative. Ran a few benchmarks, no BSOD, runs cool. minimal bloatware.Decent keyboard and trackpad, gets the job done for me.

Cons: connectivity issues with dock, sometimes I have to reseat it a few times for it to work. Words are tiny with the 1080 display, I need to do some adjustment for a better viewing experience.

Other Thoughts: I was shopping for a SP3 to upgrade my Asus t100 at first, but I could not pass up the price to performance ratio on this system.I updated my bios to the latest bios 97CN39WW, tons of updates through Microsoft updates as expected. I would have added a battery to the dock to extend battery use and maybe make the dock keyboard Bluetooth to fix connectivity issues (i hope lenovo is listening), however you can easily get 7 hours of computing on the battery at balanced power settings. I'm not sure if this is a con or not, but the screen could be brighter. However my phone is a Note 4 so I think my eyes takes time adjusting from my phone to miix
