5 out of 5 eggsNo-compromise low-cost tablet

Pros: Surprisingly high quality construction, good performance, good Android Market application support. Great display and battery life. Free 3-day shipping delivered unit in 2 days despite cross-continent distance.

Cons: Lack of manufacturer support of OS upgrades, but independent efforts are underway and Honeycomb and ICS are likely to be available relatively soon via XGA forums. Not much support from manufacturer. Doesn't come with ANY written instructions and very little posted on manufacturer's web site. Very limited memory unless supplemented with more SD memory than the meager 2GB included.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend this very highly to any experienced Android users who gas no qualms about installing OS updates and rooting the system. For me, it provides everything I need for 1/3 the cost of a comparable iPad. Perhaps a little more than 1/3 when a 32GB SD card is added.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Has everything for less. Everythings been said. Works real well for the price.

Cons: Control buttons are small. Can,t get my home screen to rotate. Finger print magnet but, touch the power button, wipe with a clean cotten cloth and bingo.

Other Thoughts: wifi, compass, gps bluetooth all work just fine. Connect pc and nokia for file transfers. Support answered in a day but, still working on it.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It has done everything I've wanted so far. I use it to read, play games, surf the net and watch video. For the $194 I paid for it, I'm extremely happy!

Cons: It's no where near as fast as some of the newer tablets out, plus it is limited to app's that are compatible with Android 2.2 OS (Froyo) which is about 95% of them

Other Thoughts: As someone who has been diagnosed with ALS I find this tablet to be a great tool that allows me to stay somewhat connected to the world. I would recommend this tablet to anyone that is house bound or has limited mobility.

5 out of 5 eggsAWESOME TABLET!!!

Pros: Fast. Very liight weight.. Has good sound. Nice big clear screen. Was very pleased with the Apps.

Cons: I dont have one for me!!

Other Thoughts: I bought this for my wife for 2011 christmas. SHE LOVES IT! She had a thinkpad laptop that she got tired of hauling around in her lap just to get on the internet. She has very low computer skills so she was getting frustrated! So I got her this pad and she loves the pad! At first I receives a pad that would not connect to the internet.but NEWWEGG replaced it with a new pad QUICKLY!!

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Tab at a Great Price Point

Pros: I paid $180 on a newegg sale. This fantastic 9.7" tablet cost me less than an IPOD Touch. The 9.7 inch screen looks great and the tablet, is very responsive. Games run and look great, decent video quality from netflix and all of my news and sports apps work just fine.

Cons: The power and volume buttons seem cheap. I have not had problems yet, however the rest of the case is very sturdy, so the flimsiness of the buttons concerns me.

The home, back, search and menu buttons do not stay lit. This makes them very hard to access when reading an ebook in a dark room.

Other Thoughts: I have read other reviewers complaining of lockups. I upgraded the firmware right away and installed advanced task killer form the Android Market and have not had problems after 3 days of heavy use.

At the price point this tablet is very hard to beat.

4 out of 5 eggsgreat for the price

Pros: I use this tablet everyday at work and home and I am very satisfied with my purchase. It does everything that i need it to for an affordable price. When i first received the tablet i too experienced the tablet freezing up multiple times a day. I finally installed a task killer that has seemed to help, if not almost eliminate this issue. After installing it I havnt had to reset the tablet for the last 2 weeks and still counting.

Cons: The only con i really had was the locking up but as stated in the pros section installing a task killer has seemed to fix this issue.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: None

Cons: The tablet constantly locked up when i first used it. After i updated the firmware the lock ups subsided during use but the device began to lock up when the screen timed out. Overall, i wish i bought a different device.

5 out of 5 eggsVery nice tablet

Pros: Beautiful screen, excellent color saturation and viewing angles due to using an LG LP097X02-SLA3 IPS display, exact same panel as the Apple iPad 1 and HP Touchpad.
4:3 ratio (1024x768) display is better for web browsing in either orientation.
Very sensitive GLASS capacitive multitouch touchscreen.
Excellent materials and build quality, rear panel is made of black anodized brushed aluminum.
Amazing battery life, can go 1 to 1-1/2 weeks between charges with daily use.
Fast and responsive, surprisingly little lag for a single-core tablet. It handles every game and app I've tried, flawlessly.
Easy to root using instructions posted on XDA forums.
You definitely get a lot for your money with this tablet!

Cons: No official upgrades beyond Froyo 2.2.
Connects to my Wifi router at G speeds despite having an N wireless chipset (4626 firmware).
Default pixel density is too large, making textboxes and icons take up too much screen real-estate, although this may be a pro for someone with visual impairment (can be changed if rooted).
Uses a proprietary 30-pin USB cable, although an iPod/iPad/iPhone USB cable can be made to work with modifications to either socket or plug.
Not fast enough or no CODEC to allow 720p x.264 .mkv files to play smoothly (but 720p Xvid .avi files play fine).
Thicker and heavier than modern tablets like iPad 2 and Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, but slightly lighter than iPad 1 and HP Touchpad.
MicroSD door does not stay firmly shut on mine.
Sleep of death (not waking up when pressing the power button) has occurred twice in 1-month on 4431 firmware. Has not occurred yet on 4626 firmware.

Other Thoughts: Le Pan may not be a well known name when it comes to tablets, but this tablet is definitely an amazing value. When you pick it up, you know immediately this is NOT the average cheap Chinese tablet. The only real disappointment I have is this tablet is stuck on Froyo 2.2 (Android for phones), with no ability to be upgraded. I do hold onto a slim hope that hackers can figure out how to get Ice Cream Sandwich on the Le Pan. Unfortunately, Le Pan has chosen to violate GPL by refusing to release source, but I've been following some threads on XDA where progress is being made that may lay the groundwork for custom ROMs. However, even if it's stuck on Froyo forever, it's an excellent tablet and worth the money.
