3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Runs well, good boot times.

Cons: Looks nice with aluminium body, has good spec values and was good value.

Other Thoughts: Hard drive died within a month, but avatar replaced and has been working fine since. Initially had a good battery life, but now there is zero battery life left 16 months after purchase. Speakers are on the bottom of the laptop which was poor design. However, even though the laptop must be plugged in at all times, still runs very well.

1 out of 5 eggsTerriblecompany & terrible product

Pros: Saying their are pro'spro's for this product is laughable. So I'll take a moment to laugh. Ha ha ha.

Cons: I had my first one replaced a couple of months before the limited warranty expired because the laptop would produce noise out of quality speakers, needless to say the replacement had the same issue. Half a year or so later the laptop caught on fire while it was charging. Luckily I caught it in time or my house would have burned down! All they told me was basically "sorry your out of warranty". If a laptops battery catches on fire how is that not the manufacturers fault? The workmanship on these things are terrible. The screws over time loosen and the bottom plate begins to squeak so you always have to make sure the screws are tightened. You will probably also hear an electrical hum eminating from your laptop on a regular basis. I could never figure out what component was producing it and of course they just say it's normal. You have no control over the fans and driver support essentially equates to you searching in google to try and find what you need. This is seriously the worst purchase I've made in my entire life. I thought I would give an unknown small company a chance but man was I mistaken.

Other Thoughts: My only recommendation is to go with a well known company and avoid avatar altogether.

1 out of 5 eggsWorthless

Pros: None.

Cons: - Continually breaks down despite repairs by the manufacturer.
- Spontaneously shuts down by itself, then is very difficult to reboot.
- A window repeatedly appears saying Real Time Clock Error

Other Thoughts: Is it possible to give less than one egg in a review? It's a good thing this Ultrabook is out of stock - hopefully it will never be in stock again. It didn't work properly from the moment it arrived and I had to ship it back to Avatar for repairs. Repairs lasted less than a year before I had to send it back again. This time the motherboard was replaced just before the manufacturer's warranty expired, but a few weeks later the same problem is back again. Now I have to send it in for repairs to the providers of the extended warranty. Based on reviews for this model that I recently read elsewhere online, it seems that others have been having similar problems. DO NOT BUY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

4 out of 5 eggsneat, powerfull and cheap

Pros: - Very solid aluminium case
- Easy and good feeling keyboard
- VGA/Ethernet dongle, a very usefull add-on
- Powerful spec for cheap price
- Connectors (USB, HDMI, etc...) position
- Ventilation size and position and not blocked if you have it on your knees
- Great batterie life

Cons: - Power button position too close to the other keys
- Elantech instead Synaptic touchpad not sure a good idea
- Screen brightness too much white and diffcult to used with sun
- Add a second USB3 could be a good idea
- Little bit heavy

Other Thoughts: For the price I have a Ultra book for the price of a regular laptop. it is really easy to transport and it is solid. I found it little bit heasy for an Ultrabook but with that solid aluminuim case it could be understanding.
