5 out of 5 eggsA Powerful Tablet

Pros: This thing is a beast compared to other tablets. I am extremely happy with my decision to purchase it.

I looked around everywhere, double checking system specs with other tablets and this is by far the best for the price.

Cons: None so far to date.

2 out of 5 eggsIt's terrible

Pros: The stylus and handwriting recognition are fantastic. Games are responsive and smooth for the most part.

Cons: I get video lag when watching movies. But the thing that makes this tablet and utter piece, is that the power button for sleep mode and power down is often unresponsive. The touchscreen is unresponsive on many occasions, and the tablet freezes up on a daily basis. I have to reboot the thing several times a day. It's been this way since I've purchased it, and when I looked up these problems online it seemed there were patches coming soon to resolve the issues.

Other Thoughts: I hate it and I wish I could send it back. If it had basic power button and touchscreen responsiveness, it would have 5 eggs.

4 out of 5 eggsHigh End Specs - Budget Price

Pros: 1) Tegra K1 - This tablet can run anything that is thrown at it with ease!!

2) Dual front speakers - Stereo - Great Quality

3) Great build quality - It feels sturdy and has held up very well

4) Lollipop

5) Great Screen especially for Netflix and Vudu

Cons: 1) The Power Button is fidgety at best... I highly recommend a magnetic case for the automatic screen on function.

2) A random restarts - I haven't tracked down a culprit for this yet...

3) The WIFI model only has 16GB internal memory...That is not enough.

The memory shouldn't be a big issue but a lot of apps cannot be moved to SD. At this point with a bare minimum of apps installed i'm sitting @ 6.4 GB...Not a strong point for a "gaming" tablet.

Other Thoughts: All around solid tablet!!!
Even with it's few issues I still would recommend this power house.

2 out of 5 eggsAlmost

Pros: Great screen.
Video performance.
Console mode ( using ethernet adpater)

Cons: Laughable wifi performance. ASUS router at home and Cisco AP at work. Tablet can seem to work with either. Says it has full bars, however cant pass traffic. Ping test to tablet shows packet loss while ipad/ HTC one show perfect connection.

Other Thoughts: Would be great if the Wi-Fi would work the majority of the time. Been hopeful a firmware/ software update would fix it. I'm not on lollipop with no sign of hope.

2 out of 5 eggsWifi performance is terrible.

Pros: Graphically very powerful. Has some interesting features like streaming games from my PC.

Cons: The Wifi on this tablet is terrible. Even when it says it has 3-4 bars, it takes several seconds to load webpages, if they load at all. Tablet drops wifi signal every ~30 seconds unless I'm within 15 feet of router AND have line of sight. Can't use this tablet in my bedroom or bathroom, less than 20 feet from my router, with only 1 or 2 walls in between. I've watched this tablet drop signal several times while using a laptop or my other tablet a couple feet away. Putting a hand over the stylus corner blocks the signal completely. Being able to stream games from my PC doesn't matter if sitting at my PC is the only place with a strong enough signal to do it.

First time I ordered this tablet, it was DOA. I should've accepted that as a sign of its quality and chosen something different three weeks ago. Now I'm once again stuck with my old tablet while I wait for my return to go through and order something that actually works.

Other Thoughts: If you only ever use your tablet while sitting in the same room as your router, and the room isn't too big, and you don't put your hand over the wrong corner, it might work.

4 out of 5 eggsBleeding Edge Ups and Downs

Pros: This device is certainly powerful. Clear screen, HDMI functionality, precise touches, large speakers and more! I've used this device as a console and a painting canvas, as well as all my normal Android utilities and games. I've even steamed the playing of the preinstalled game on Twitch.

Cons: It is not tried and true tech, there are lots of hangups and bugs hiding in different interactions (especially in slow internet or when the Wi-Fi isn't connected). The system does come with some software that can't be uninstalled (including a 1.5GB game), which shrinks the increasingly small 16GB internal storage.

Other Thoughts: A workaround for the $60 controller can be found in a USB Xbox360 controller with a micro USB converter (though the device then can't be charged). The HDMI is a smaller port, therefore will require an adapter or special cord. On my specific television, the projected screen had small areas outside my televisions boundaries that I couldn't do anything about.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Enjoyed it while it lasted.

Cons: My unit died in 2 days. Would not turn on. I enjoy the tablet but I would expect that items made by 100% laser guided machines in factories would not have these kind of issues.

2 out of 5 eggsWont turn on after 35 days.

Pros: Picture quality and sound are amazing. Unit can handle anything thrown at it from streaming movies to games.

Cons: Unit wont power on after the 35th day. Never been dropped, no damage is present. Charged the unit over night and now is DEAD.

5 out of 5 eggssplendid

Pros: Superior performance, plus the HDMI port is convenient that I can read book on bigger screen and turn off Shield's screen using console mode.
System OTA updates come even faster than previous nexus devices!
Grid is super awesome and hope that there will be more games in the future.

Cons: Has some bugs, some times get frozen. But it doesn't happen frequently.

5 out of 5 eggsNvidia Shield Tablet

Pros: Great Screen
Fast and Powerful
Lots of options
Lolipop upgrade
Good viewing angles
Feels solid
Haven't tried the HDMI out yet though

Cons: It won't charge through USB through my computer. Odd but I can always charge it elsewhere. WiFi kind of blows. But that might be my router.

Other Thoughts: I've seen reviews on youtube complaining about the weight of this thing. I mean gosh it's not a sandbag. 3 more ounces isn't gonna kill your arms. The speakers are just fine. The cameras are just fine. People expect too much out of speakers and cameras on tablets. I don't see why. Other than my little nitpicks this is the perfect tablet for media...I don't plan on using it for gaming. I have a PC and PC desk for that. Honestly don't waste your money on some Nexus or Samsung. This thing is more versatile in almost every category.
