1 out of 5 eggs3 returns and still defective

Pros: large, many compartments, lots of room for stuff

Cons: built with poor workmanship. Company expects you to pay for returning a defective item, 3 backpacks, all with the same problem.

Other Thoughts: So my original review of this was glowing ... until it fell apart. The right shoulder strap was actually pulling out of the backpack and the stitching along the strap became undone. I know the backpack was defective because all I carry around is a laptop, and its accessories, along with some pens, business cards, et.
I contacted Targus and after speaking with them, they offered me a replacement, to which I gladly accepted. The one thing that irked me was that I had to pay for shipping of the defective item back to them. I reluctantly did after some protest.
Fast forward 3 months and guess what!? Same thing happened. I called Targus and explained the problem. They quickly offered a replacement and again expected me to ship it back at my own expense. They even charged my credit card for a new backpack until my old one was received. My hands were tied.
Guess what happened to the third backpack?! Yup, 3 months, and the EXACT same thing, in the same spot. This time I called and asked to speak to a supervisor and explained that there must be some defect in materials or workmanship. They looked at photos that i provided and said they would look into the matter. They even offered to ship me a new backpack and once received to send the old one back ... AT MY OWN EXPENSE. This time I refuse to. I have paid shipping for the original and 2 replacements and I will not do it again.

Summery: Huge backpack that falls apart at the straps after daily use for 3-5 months. Customer service very willing to replace it, but expect you to pay for return shipping on DEFECTIVE items.

1 out of 5 eggsgarbage

Pros: that it can also be purchased at wow mart

Cons: this back pack is terrible, while your walking it will unzip itself and the zippers will also disconnected leaving your things to fall on the ground i would not recommend this backpack to an enemy

Other Thoughts: targus may make other backpacks that may or may not be good but i don't trust them after this backpack

4 out of 5 eggsGreat so far

Pros: So far this has been great. It's bigger than it looks, but compresses well, so that if you don't have it stuffed to the gills you won't have to worry about it being too bulky. There are a ton of pockets and great padding, so it's very comfortable. I don't know about longevity, but it seems sturdy enough so far. Plus it looks great - I've even had people comment about it and ask where they could get one

Cons: The shoulder straps ride somewhat strange, which results in the pack sitting a little low on my back. My old pack settled on my shoulder properly so that the top of the pack sat even with my shoulder, but with this one the strap slides back a little and the pack sits closer to the middle of my back. It's a minor inconvenience, worth mentioning but not a deal-breaker by any means.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat backpack for school

Pros: I am a sophmore in highschool going on to be a junior and this is the perfect backpack for me. I carry tons of books and this helped me get through it and it's perfect to bring on trips with your laptop and stuff. This thing can take a beating too! My friends always tug at my bag while i am walking to get me mad and annoy me but the handle has stayed strong. It also has deep pockets and are able to really stuff this thing to full capacity and still have a bit of room :)

Cons: Shoulder straps somewhat wripped away from the elastic, but it really makes no difference unless you're annoyed by it because it's hardly noticeable and only happened because of rough handling. Other than that i love this bag!

Other Thoughts: Just know to get optimal use for school and book stuffing make sure to organize the bag because by distributing books through the pockets it will allow you to stuff more and more in there. Just be well organized and know that this is the perfect bag! There is even a 17" one too if you wanna go bigger!

1 out of 5 eggsLot's of Room, But Beware it cannot handle much weight

Pros: Durable Zippers, durable body material, got it for 15 dollars less; Lot's of Room

Cons: Shoulder Straps cannot handle much weight, seams on the straps are not strong the straps do not feel durable, single seams really?, tore very easily, Easy RMA with Targus, but had to pay 24 dollars to ship back, I am very disappointed in this product it had a lot of potential, but I am going to wait for my replacement, and see what happens, if I am not satisfied, I will shop around for another product and use the backpack for non moving storage.

Other Thoughts: Watch out for the Shoulder Straps seams they cannot handle much weight. Liked the color and aesthetic.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Item

Pros: Comfortable
Lots of pockets
Great Size
Sturdy and well made

Cons: Seems like there could be more padding around the actual laptop but I am pretty sure it is fine.

Other Thoughts: Only owned it a week so far and haven't used it much but so far so good.

5 out of 5 eggsReliable Backpack

Pros: Large, and durable backpack. Though I would like to review about the long run, that will have to wait. Been using it almost everyday since I received it and no wear or tear yet.

Cons: None on the conditions of this item, however I never received a phone pouch for my backpack. I don't use a cellphone, but I am sad that this accessory which should have came with the purchase never did. I did not remove an egg because that little thing has made no difference to me on how I use my backpack, however I wish to have it whether or not I use a phone in the future.

Other Thoughts: The backpack I had before was a generic backpack and was getting small for my being, and the things I carried actually started to bruise my back (mainly my bike lock is to blame). This was on the shell shockers at one point and I thought change and expansion was needed for my future. I've had Targus cases in the past, and their name was mainly why I bought this.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Backpack

Pros: Large size, tough design meant to last, I loved the case the second I opened it, plenty of compartments to keep accessories and school items

Cons: The straps are not the most comfortable if you are carrying a lot, but otherwise they're fine . They could have put more padding in the straps but that's just my preference.

5 out of 5 eggsGood for the price

Pros: I've had one of these for almost 2 years, quality is high and comfort level is good

Cons: after carrying around 45 lbs of laptops and assorted techie gear one of the shoulder straps finally gave out, i don't want to ding it an egg because while i was not exactly abusive on it, i didn't treat it gently

Other Thoughts: great tech backpack if you are looking for something cheap, holds tons of stuff, i usualyl carry 2 laptops, a tablet, 2 mice, a TKL mech keyboard, a screwdriver kit, several external harddrives both 2.5 and 3.5 sizes, headphones, headset (both full size circumaural) my r-pi, 20 or so flash drives, couple spare ssds and 2.5" hdds, couple usb wfi nics, and sometimes a 6 pack of beer

and it withstood constant grabbing by a single strap, tossing in my car, carrying by a strap for almost 2 years before finally giving in

not bad, i would expect to pay 2-3 times as much for something with the same capability and quality

5 out of 5 eggsHard to Complain

Pros: Numerous pockets, extra padding, waterproof base, wired strap with plastic coating (so it wont break), and for a decent price. I compared this with three other backpacks and I found this one to be overall the most durable, most useful, best looking, and best price.

Cons: I don't know how durable this is in the long run, yet.

Other Thoughts: I actually got this one at ma rshalls for a lower price.
