Pros: Lots of room for books, cloths, and electronics. I routinely pack two laptops in this thing. The little pocket on the top has really served me well.

Cons: Shoulder straps began fraying after two months. Now, the foam inserts are poking out the bottom of the strap.

Other Thoughts: For something in the area of $60, I expected a lot more life out of this thing. I had a $30 Rosewill backpack that lasted me two years before I decided to replace it.

Pros: After owning the Drifter II for a year with almost daily use (only about the last half of which actually carrying a laptop) and wearing it on a long motorcycle trip, the bag has held up pretty well. I carry it mostly over one should, and that shoulder strap shows the most wear and is starting to fray at the seam, but I should get at least another year of the same amount of use. I've yet to have any issues with any zippers.

Holds an HP 17.3" laptop easily - could probably hold a slightly larger laptop.

I'm a big guy and have no issues using both shoulder straps while wearing a heavy coat in the winter.

If you like zippers and/or you like compartments within compartments - this is the bag for you. There's a couple of handy compartments that will work well for CCDW, too.

Cons: I would have given a fifth star if the 1 shoulder strap hadn't started fraying.

Other Thoughts: Wish list of improvements:
-An option to buckle the shoulder straps to each other across your chest would help, especially when riding a bike; I've yet to find a use for the D-rings on the shoulder straps.
-The bottom and back could have been better designed to help the bag stand up on its own.
-Could be a bit more padding for the pocket meant for a laptop.

Pros: Very large capacity, Lots of room and compartments. Layout of pack it good.

Cons: Have owned it less than a year, Zipper on the mesh pouch on the inside just came off in my hand one day for no reason. It wasn't stuck it just ran right off the end of the zipper. On the front of the pack the vertical seam at the lower front is unraveling coming apart. Again during normal light use. Poor workmanship and quality control on the one I got.

Other Thoughts: I want it exchanged for a new one but I would never buy the Targus brand again. There are too many other options out there. Targus is low on my list now. I don't appreciate the hassle of having to go through the return and replacement process like Targus is going be a big favor. Try making a quality product.

Pros: Space

Cons: I ordered the Drifter 2 and within weeks one of the zippers came off track. They were very nice and quick to replace. Now not even two months later my strap stitching has come apart (See photos). Targus use to be a good quality bag now it seems you only pay for the name because the quality has really gone down. I will not purchase a another Targus bag for myself or my company this is a very poor quality bag that I would not recommend to anyone.

Strap is breaking, I do not abuse it, carry with one strap, use the hook, over weight it down or anything out of the normal lifestyle of one that carries their laptop around all day.

Pros: Plenty of space and storage departments. Makes carrying height items easy. Padding for the back and shoulders make it a comfortable carry. Overall great bag and sturdy.

Pros: Roomy, lot's of places to put stuff. Very thoughtfully designed and seems durable all the way around. It's one of the few bags that fits my Asus G75 17.3" laptop, and possibly the most comforting and fitting backup I've carried. I mean it, I don't work for Targus, but I'm certainly a fan.

Cons: I'll keep you posted if I find one!

I like this bag mainly because I can hold everything in one spot when I travel without worrying about damaging my smaler accessories and hardware, I walk alot so thats real important to me.

Other Thoughts: I've been looking to buy a 17" laptop backpack for a long time but they have been very hard to find for reasonable prices. The price I got was unbelievable compared to other bags made for larger laptops. Thanks Newegg!

Pros: This backpack is great! I recently purchased an 17" Asus G75 series laptop and it seemed like I was never going to find a backpack that fits this monster laptop... This one does! It has compartments for compartments! I can fit everything I had in my 15" backpack and then some. Material Quality is great, handle is sturdy, zippers are smooth working. Nothing bad to say about this product. Very Happy.
