Logisys Computer Dual 140mm Fan Laptop Cooler Pad Model NP2001BK

Pros: This cooling pad is sized perfectly for a 12"-13" laptop, and fits my 13.3" Vaio "to a T". It is relatively quiet, although the noise level can increase if it is flexed or stressed a bit by not being used on a hard surface. The two large fans do a very effective job of cooling my overheating laptop, and the front "bumper" keeps the laptop from sliding off the incline. The usb ports allow you to replace the port that the cooler takes on your laptop, with a port on the cooling pad instead. (The pad has two USB ports, one for its cable to the laptop and one that can be used to plug in another USB device.)

The pad is fairly sturdy although mostly plastic, and with the unexposed fans, can be easily used on your lap, unlike many coolers these days.

Cons: This cooling pad is sized to work well only with 12"-13" laptops; anything over 14" would probably be unstable and uncomfortable.

The pad is not completely silent, makes a very slight fan noise that increases if it is flexed at all. However, compared to almost all cooling pads in this price range, it's relatively quiet and unobtrusive. For complete quiet, it can also be used with the fans turned off; it does have a power switch.

The incline of the pad is fixed, and may be too steep for comfort in some situations, although it's a relatively good compromise position.

Other Thoughts: If this cooling pad holds up for more than a few months, I will increase my rating to 5 stars; I've yet to find a cooling pad under $20 that lasted even that long. It was definitely a good deal, the right size and fairly sturdy, and usable on a lap; most pads in this range are pretty flimsy, and some don't work right even new out of the box. While I'd prefer a metal pad, this one at least uses plastic sturdy enough to hold a laptop weighing a few pounds, and only flexes if you truly stress it.

Pros: large size fans are almost silent, construction heavy duty, also quality built, very sleek and efficient design, It works very good and lowered Temp about 5-8 Celsius on one laptop and 4-6 Celsius on another. you plug it into one USB port on laptop but You actually gain a USB port, it has 2 ports built in !

Cons: None, I just bought 2 more, I had bought one, loved it and then went to re order and price had doubled, I gambled and hoped price would drop. IT HAS ! so I just ordered two
with free shipping, I actually get 2 for 5 dollars less than one cost last month!

Other Thoughts: This has to be the best ever design, the large size fans combined with the unobstructed air flow allows it to cool efficiently and be almost silent at the same time. IMO In My Opinion these are the best laptop coolers on the Market. Even better than My Homemade design which uses a tornado fan (mine cools just as good as this BUT mine sounds like a Hair dryer ! ) this is so close to silent I am not sure why they put an on off switch

Pros: It seems to run well after finally getting a unit that works.

Cons: Acer customer service is terrible. Will never buy another one, received the unit defective. would shut off after about 30 seconds, if you plugged the charging cable in it froze instantly. the acer goons barely spoke English and could not understand what my problem was. wasted about an hour of my life on the phone with them. finally after almost a month of not having the unit I got it back, minus all of the parts,manual etc I sent it out with. hard to use a laptop if you cant charge it... spent another half an hour, maybe it would help if i spoke Hindi?

Other Thoughts: Will never buy another acer again.

Pros: It is not cheap looking at all. I was worried it would be flimsy but it is not.

Cons: Not really for lap use. More for desktop use or a laptop stand.No control of fan speed, just on and off.

Other Thoughts: Uses 1 USB but has an extra to make up for the one being used.

Pros: It is sleek and simple, and quiet. I like that it has an extra usb port to make up for the one it takes

Cons: It's not comfortable in your lap
