4 out of 5 eggsOverall very well choice

Pros: Decent cooling effect. You can even feel the breeze coming out the gap between laptop and the pad.

My laptop's fan works much less often and hard when I'm using this pad. I don't even need to check the temperature, the effect is very obvious.

Adjustable fan speed is a good feature.
Neat looking.

Cons: 1. Legs are weak. Both broken in 6 months. I thought I gave it too much pressure by using it on a couch or bed. But when I checked it and found how small and weak the shafts are, I turned to think this is a design problem.

2. So the legs are broken now, so the gap between the bottom of pad and my desk became too narrow, actually choked its air intake. Airflow decreases if you don't deploy the legs. Another design problem due to lack of testing.

3. Plus to 2. Because it takes air directly from the bottom, means no soft surface operations. Your laptop get no air, but a lot of dust and fiber. A board is needed if you use it on a bed or other soft stuff.

5 out of 5 eggsCold and Professional

Pros: Cold metal mesh of a high quality. Large open holes for air pushed by the fan to flow into the laptop. Sturdy plastic underbottom, sturdy leg supports. Extra USB slot if taking into account one is being used by the computer/cooling system. Ability to change the fan speed. USB Mini power cord has generous length. noise is only a soft wooshing sound

Cons: Some "chopper" noises as the fan blades are acting like a helicopter. Not very noticeable but if you notice things like that are aggravating simply change the speed and the "chopper effect" will go away.

Other Thoughts: Hp pavillion g6 series
Win 7 64 OS
AMD A-6 dual core 2.7 ghz
8 gb ram
Standard 750 gb hard drive 7200 rpm

Moderate to heavy gaming and with a computer that has a very happy little fan that will rev up at the slightest opening of an application. With this cooling pad at low to medium setting and the HP CoolSense option turned off of the machine, i can put the processor at full 2.7 ghz and run games such as CoD Ghosts, Warframe, WoW (if you're into that) all at good/high settings without the computer turning on the on board fan.

other thoughts: i noticed that the resonance between the cooling pad and the computer fan can create an offset in frequency so the whole set up can actually be quieter just set the cool pad at just the right setting.

5 out of 5 eggsFirst Impressions

Pros: - Huge fans, move a decent amount of air.
- QUIET. Even my refrigerator is louder than this. Plus, with this cooler, my laptop fan stays pretty silent, and that was at least as loud as the cooler.
- Adjustable speed.
- Rather than taking up a USB port it adds 1, and without that sharp thing that stuck out on previous CM coolers.
- Aluminum surface matches my laptop's finish.

Cons: - Uses Mini USB instead of Micro USB. I'd like to see something that uses Micro USB as it locks into place very well and puts the wear and tear on the cable rather than the device like Mini USB does.

Other Thoughts: Something else I'd like to see is maybe a way to control the fan speed right from the computer via the USB connection. It could allow for dynamically adjusting to the temperature of the laptop rather than having to use the dial manually.

Previous reviews mentioned concern at the amount of plastic and that the aluminum was only the surface, it appears CM or NewEgg listened to this and corrected the item description to better reflect this. Nice job on their part.

2 out of 5 eggsNoisy

Pros: Looks Good. Seems to make things cool

Cons: Noisy.

Other Thoughts: I'd been thinking about picking up a laptop cooling pad when I saw this guy pop up as a daily deal and figured I'd pull the trigger.

Other than being noisy, this meets all expectations. Seems like it just wasn't quite engineered with enough of a buffer for for manufacturing sloppiness and product weight. The actual air noise is extremely reasonable.

The fans themselves have a pulsing whir and vibrate like they are cheap. I put my 15" Macbook Pro on it and the whirring gets worse. Don't get me wrong; this won't be a problem for a lot of people, but the specs say: "Fan Noise: 20 - 28 dBA" I have to work in a very noise sensitive environment. I measured the generated noise at 46dBA, 57dBC. If you need something super quiet, this isn't it.

4 out of 5 eggsgreat product at its low price

Pros: great product at its low price

Cons: It will be awesome if it had an on/off power switch so that the fan could stop running when the laptop is sleeping.

4 out of 5 eggsSlips on smaller laptops

Pros: Adjustable fan speed.

Quiet (for night usage, since my laptop fan is louder than this)

Two extra USB ports that respond very quickly. I assume this is because power is already flowing to those ports, as compared to the other USB ports.

Cons: At low speeds, it sometimes makes a noise like the fan blades are hitting the "case" of the cooling pad.

This is where the title comes in. Ever since I got this cooling pad, the the small pads have slipped around.

Other Thoughts: If I were you, I'd get the product IF YOU HAVE A LARGER LAPTOP. Mine is 13.3 inches, so as a tradeoff for the pads slipping, there's a lot more surface area that gets air directed toward it.

1 out of 5 eggsbroken

Pros: perfect fit for my acer aspire
i'd give it a 4 out of 5 if it wasn't broken out of the box

Cons: one of the two fans is broken. i took it out of the box and plugged it in but only the left fan started spinning. i tried to contact cooler master but its too late at night so i'll have to try again tomorrow. very disappointed.

Manufacturer Response:
