This means the new battery chip installed on newer model laptops manufactured after Spring 2012 will interface correctly and recharge. Cons: None. It charges correctly. Other Thoughts: Having already experienced the frustration of returning a cheaper 3rd party clone battery with similar labeling applied to mask it's appearance. I found an article that confirms Lenovo has made a technical change to the new models so that these laptops will only charge from Lenovo manufactured batteries. Not sure if the older models made before this are exempt; so be forewarned that you have the correct " original " manufactured Lenovo product; ( not a masked copy ) if you have a newer model for the battery you are purchasing. ( I spent a lot of time online tracking down and weeding out the trial and errors with any OS install maneuvers and " YouTube " suggestions before I found this out through a random chance " Google " article. ) Hope this is helpful so you won't have to go through this. 2 out of 2 people found this review helpful.
