Pros: - Cools very well
- Large Fan
- Built very very well (except for the plastic fan, but that's expected)
- Nothing more to say
- Fits perfectly in the Rosewell 17.3" Notebook Backpack (Item: N82E16834990525)

Cons: - Makes my laptop chilly (Just kidding)

Other Thoughts: Would recommend to friends.

3 out of 5 eggsNice...

Pros: USB passthrough.... Large fan, works.

Cons: Not as big as my 17.3 in lenovo. My laptop hangs over both sides when resting in the center of the cooling pad. I'm not sure if they are supposed to be that way or not, but IMO, that is a design flaw.

Other Thoughts: the fan compartment is wide open from the bottom so it's not really feasable to have it resting in your lap. Some form of table top is required. I already knew this when I purchased it so I'm not considering this a Con, but it does make using it a little less convenient.

3 out of 5 eggsWorks

Pros: Runs Quit. Keeps laptop cool. The back-light is a nice added feature. Price.

Cons: Rather than resting on the palm rest located at the front of the cooler, the front of the cooler rests on the front lip of the fan. This is either from the front rest being bent upwards (I do not have another product to compare it to to know if it is at the normal angle or not) or the fan being mounted too low. This has not affected performance but is a design flaw. Also, during start up, the fan has developed a click while reaching speed. This noise goes away almost immediately and I will update this review if it becomes worse.

Other Thoughts: If you need a cheap cooling solution for your laptop I would recommend getting this product. Also, if your laptop is 15.6" or larger you should purchase this variant (the 17.3") rather than then 15.6".

Cons: -Even the first time i plugged it in it made an awful noise and has kept making awful noises since.
-so loud i can't stand it
-the LED will stay on but the fan will just stop sometimes
-there is barely any cooling to this product

Other Thoughts: I want to send it back

4 out of 5 eggsPretty solid, but not readily versatile

Pros: Solid metal construction, USB pass-thru, on/off switch for the fan, LEDs, lightweight, quiet.

Cons: With the fan blades exposed, it can be tricky to get situated on your lap without a leg or clothing getting clipped at first. Also, the recessed area on top is not quite big enough for my laptop (a 17.3") to fit in so I just align it to the front which angles the laptop slightly toward me. Not a big deal so far.

Other Thoughts: Overall it's worth it to me especially as part of a combo deal. Mostly just use it while gaming and go without for everything else. Nothing else heats up my laptop the same as gaming.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Sturdy build with thick aluminum. Looks nice. The fan is quiet. On/off button.

Cons: The one I got had rough edges that cut my finger. Had to sand it down. The side with the Rosewill logo is too low. Without rubber feet, the fan cage touches whatever surface I place the cooler on.

Other Thoughts: The noise everyone complained about was due to the 4 LEDs touching the underside of the fan. I fixed this by pushing the LEDs away from the fan. Wish it I can move the fan to the right side, to where my M6600 graphics card is located.

4 out of 5 eggsDoes the Job

Pros: Quiet (see other thoughts). USB passthrough. Performed solidly for the last 9 months. Good value, as are all Rosewill products I've ever purchased

Cons: (1) The rubber feet on my unit keep falling off. I don't know if this is because I stuck them on improperly to begin with, I move my unit around a lot, or the adhesive really isn't as strong as it should be. (2) While the aluminum body is structurally sound, it will creak when you load it with a heavy laptop (e.g., 15" Mobile Workstation) or if you have heavy palms. I doubt other makes and models can avoid this problem without creating an overly heavy unit. (3) no way to turn the blue LED light off (although without it you'd probably never know it's running). (4) lip in the front is good for the comfort of my hands and wrists but gets in the way of front-side ports or indicators on your laptop

Other Thoughts: I purchased this cooler over others because I wanted something quiet. Fan noise basically has three components: noise from the motor, noise from the aerodynamics of the rotating blades, and noise from the turbulence of moving air. Having a larger-diameter fan like this cooler does reduces all three components. Basic physics dictates that, compared to multiple smaller fans, it needn’t move the air at as high a velocity, hence it can run at a lower rpm, hence it can use a lower power motor. This is a vast oversimplification, but you get the point. You won’t hear this cooler or feel any air coming off of the fan when you stick your hand over it, but don’t be fooled. It is displacing a greater volume of air than those smaller fans, and hence cooling as well if not better.

I had a 13" Core 2 Duo that I pushed really hard and was completely dependent on this cooler to function without throttling. I now use a 15" that fits comfortably, but only leaves 1cm on either side, so I don't see a 17" laptop fitting nicely.

1 out of 5 eggsNot as good as I thought...

Pros: Looks nice with the blue LED light, big fan.

Cons: Although it looks cool, and has a huge fan it cannot make up for it's other flaws.

The fan runs extremely low and you can barely feel it. there is no way to change the speed of the fan at all.

The overall design looks nice, but one huge flaw is that the fan is directly underneath, therefore when you put it on your lap, while on, it pushes on the casing of the fan, making a loud annoying noise.

Therefore I'd strongly recommend against it unless you plan to use it when on a completely flat surface, like a desk or tabletop.

Other Thoughts: I really don't understand why they chose to leave the fan underneath completely wide open. Why not put the medal grate looking surface that the laptop sits on put on the bottom as well? That way you can use it while you have your laptop on your... lap?
