1 out of 5 eggspoorly engineered

Pros: good design

Cons: I have purchased two of these units one from newegg.com and one from newegg.ca. The first one lasted several months before it broke and the second one lasted about 3 months. The design is great and it works well but is engineered so poorly the leg joints fail no matter how carefully it is used

Other Thoughts: This would be the perfect "lapdesk" desing wise but unfortunately it is engineered and built very poorly. I had the first one I purchase fail after a few months, but I liked it so much I took a chance and ordered another one. This one has now failed the same way the first one did and this one only lasted about 3 months. The adjustable leg joints are very flimsy and will simply break no matter how carefully the unit is used. Newegg should not sell this product until it can be redesigned with better leg joints.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Impressed

Pros: -Very strong
-Easy to adjust
-Has fans w/ USB ports

Cons: -A bit wobbly
-Have to be careful about accidental falls

Other Thoughts: My laptop is a Qosmio X305-705, and is abnormally large and heavy. I put my normal cooling rack on top of this, then the laptop (it won't really sit on top otherwise). This is a very large amount of weight, and the stand holds it. It does warp a bit... but I'm quite comfortable with it, because I torture tested it with 20 pounds plus pushing down beforehand.

So, to those who are worried about weight. The stand will sag a bit... but it is very strong.

WARNING: Careful about adjusting it with weight on top. I 'clicked' one of the buttons, and crushed my finger between two of the legs. Was quite painful.

I use it for a 11.6" laptop, the huge 17.3" laptop on occasion, food, drinks, books/nightstand... whatever you need really. It's an adjustable table.

5 out of 5 eggsVersatile laptop desk

Pros: Versatile offers several different positions and works from a free standing position as well as several positions over your lap. Although my laptop has adequate cooling the fans do help reduce the strain put on the internal cooling. I don't use the external USB's but you can never have too many USB ports.

Cons: Maybe a little flimsy but it does hold my 10lb laptop.

Other Thoughts: I bought two of these and for the price on newegg it is well worth it. I think they are versatile and can be used in a chair, bed, or sitting on a short table. I am pleased with this purchase and would buy again. As always Newegg's service is awesome.

5 out of 5 eggsActually Works

Pros: Flexible,Sturdy, Multiple configurations, handles my 17" dell no problem.

Cons: The only real con is that you have to make sure the legs are "clicked in" properly.

Other Thoughts: I use mine on the desktop to bring my notebook screen up to the same level as the other screens attached to it. Opens up some desktop space as well. The Fans did lower my CPU temps be about 5 degrees, although some of that might be getting the laptop in the air.
I don't use the USB ports (2.0) since I have a large hub, but they could come in handy if you just need a few extra.
Its pretty stable, I had it fully extended with the laptop loaded and felt comfortable about it not tipping over.

5 out of 5 eggsWell made

Pros: This device has many different positions, it is great for having a laptop while laying in bed, while lounging on a couch, and many other situations.
Each joint 'snaps' into place at increment degrees by pressing the white button at each joint once to adjust, and again to lock. One useful position this product fits to is it extends like an L to act like a fold table, where the bottom joint can tuck under the chair you're sitting in, and it will stand pretty tall.

Cons: It's plenty big enough for laptop, but not really big enough to have a mousepad. With my macbook air 13", it's barely too small to have a mousepad as a viable option.

When adjusting, it can take a lot of fidgeting to get the position that's just right.

Other Thoughts: I didn't really get this for the fan- my laptop doesn't overheat, but this usually does keep my internal laptop fan from spinning, which is quieter than the laptop when it's really hauling.

5 out of 5 eggsWell designed and effective cooler

Pros: Well engineered and highly effective. I just finished reviewing another cooler which I bought at the same time as this cooler which unfortunately has to be placed on a desk or table or other suitable hard flat surface given the open nature of the fan. This cooler on the other hand is a true gem. The fans are encased so the unit can be placed on your lap and the fans do not come into contact with clothing or anything else. Then, the additional features of the legs really make the cooler stand out. The number of ways which this can be set up are endless. Height is adjustable, as well as tilt/pan/etc...The possibilities are endless and I love this cooler. I use it almost every day and I recommend it to everyone. It serves dual purposes. It is an effective and well designed cooler first and foremost. Secondly, it is quite handy to place your laptop in various positions which can be very useful.

Cons: Not a single one

1 out of 5 eggsCareful on purchase

Pros: Sturdy construction, can pivot in multiple directions and angles.

Cons: Fans are flimsy, become noisy in less than 90 days. USB hub not recognized by multiple laptops. Rosewill and Newegg want me to pay for shipping back on it's RMA. Shipping is going to be roughly $15, item was bought for $30. Not good. Why can't they send out a new one with a shipping label for the old one included providing that the buyer places a credit card on file like EVERY other manufacturer out there?

Other Thoughts: I really liked Rosewill products, bought many things from them from kitchen knives, cables to the lapdesk. It takes one bad experience to push anyone away. Hopefully they will make it right.

5 out of 5 eggsWonderful Accessory

Pros: Cools, Adjustable, Sturdy enough

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I bought this with the fear that my new laptop would overheat like my last one. So far, I haven't really needed to use this to keep it cool, but we'll see when I start gaming. When I have had the fans turned on, it's kept my laptop extremely cool. I'm most excited about the customizable positions this thing can be put in.

2 out of 5 eggsDesign flaw in the palmrest...

Pros: Overall, this is a nice design. It's the only thing out there that will allow me to comfortably prop my laptop at the 70 degree angle I like it at when in bed.

I have not had any issues with the arms spontaneously collapsing like a couple other people mentioned, and the construction itself seems sturdy. Sure, it has plastic joints, but they work great and feel sturdy.

Cons: The design flaw that's really bothering me is how the palmrest (that bar with a flared lip that the legs connect to) was designed.

For one, this thing does NOT feel comfortable when trying to use it with a tablet, ultrabook, or convertible. The flared lip is going to dig into your wrists and make this thing super uncomfortable. You can't really turn it around so that the bar is on top either because if you're using this at an angle of inclination greater than 30 about degrees, whatever's on it is going to slide right off, even with rubber feet.

Secondly, it doesn't work with 'big' laptops either. If the base of your laptop is more than 1 inch high from the top of it to the table, this thing might just drop your laptop all the time.

For me and my y580, this is the case. When on this table, and the table is at an angle of inclination of about 40 degrees or greater, the laptops weight is resting more on the flared lip than on the table base itself. This combined with the fact that my laptop has a curved bottom underneath the palmrest means that the lip and the bottom of my laptop act like a wedge, and the laptop simply slides off this thing...all...the...time.

I'm going to try velcro and see if that helps my laptop stuck to this thing, but all in all they need to make that flared lip adjustable so that it can be made to not dig in when using a tablet/ultrabook/convertable, but can actually HOLD ONTO a large high performance laptop like my Y580.

Other Thoughts: All in all, unless you have the perfect sized laptop and don't want to use this for a tablet/convertable/ultrabook, you probably won't be too impressed with this.

I am impressed with the build quality and versatility this thing provides, but not by how my laptop keeps falling off the darn thing, or how it cuts into your wrist if you're using something thin.

I got it when it was heavily discounted, so I'm going to just try to make the best of it, but I personally would be sending it back if I had paid $50 or more for this thing.

4 out of 5 eggsA little clunky but good

Pros: I like how it is adaptable to a lot of positions.

Cons: It is a bit clunky if you plan on changing position options a lot.

Other Thoughts: Got a second for the office, great for Ipad.
