4 out of 5 eggsUniversal LAPTOP AC adapter

Pros: Has most of the tips you'll encounter on popular laptops.

Cons: There are a few more tips that should have been included.

Other Thoughts: Reading through the reviews, I had some thoughts to add. This is a _LAPTOP_ AC adapter, not for use with monitors or other electronics!

Most universal chargers won't charge a lot of the older Dell laptops. It's a Dell thing. If your Dell wants a PA-3, PA-10, PA-12, PA-21, etc. charger then you should buy only a Dell charger. The Dell laptops have circuitry to detect their charger. Your knockoff charger might run the laptop but often as not will not be able to charge the battery.

If you have a big or high end laptop then you might need a 90 watt charger. A 65 watt charger is not going to have enough juice to run the laptop and charge it at the same time.

There are many HP laptops that use a proprietary tip with two different diameters, narrow at the tip end and fatter back towards the cord end of the plug. These universals won't have those tips. You need to the HP adapter.

3 out of 5 eggsGood but not the right plug

Pros: Power up an LCD monitor without any flicker and without getting hot. This replaced a retail store replacement power supply that caused an annoying flicker on the monitor,

Cons: It comes with a bunch of adapter plugs, but none of them fit a Viewsonic LCD monitor that still had some life left in it even though it's external power supply died. I had to "modify" one of the existing plugs to fit the socket on the back of the monitor.

Other Thoughts: Running about a month in an office, 40 hours per week, now with no apparent problems.

1 out of 5 eggsWon't even fit, let alone work.

Pros: Can't find any because can't be used.

Cons: 1. The pictures show a non-grounded electrical connection (and thus a two-prong plug). What came had three connections (prongs). Such adapters exist for my laptop; I have one. (I was hoping to get a lighter adapter.)
2. The Antec web site says to use a connector that won't fit in the laptop. (an ASUS M5200N) If Antec doesn't want to support old laptops, they shouldn't say that they do
.

Other Thoughts: Return shipping will be at least half of the purchase price.

1 out of 5 eggsDoes not work with Dell Laptops as advertised.

Pros: Antec is a good company.

Cons: Advertised to work with Dell. Received it and it did not work on any of my 3 different Dell laptops. The Antec site does not list it as working with Dell Laptops.

2 out of 5 eggsNo Go for Dells

Pros: Inexpensive, name brand.

Cons: Does not charge the battery in my two Dell laptops (both different models). Laptop does not 'recognize' the adapter and won't charge the battery.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Adaptor

Pros: It works perfect. I had use it with many laptops with no problems. I automatically adjust the voltage depending on the laptop requirements.
I had purchase 5 of this already. I fix computers and this is a must-have "tool".

Cons: No cons. But only one plug that is not included. Don't remember if is the plug for Dell.
