2 out of 5 eggsJust a battery

Pros: It works as a battery, at least so long as the tablet itself does not get confused about its connection state or the amount of charge that is remaining. That's pretty much it, though. It's a good battery.

Cons: Numerous keys have permanently ceased functioning, both number and letter keys. It's no longer possible to type single words or any password or PINs, so any time that I want to type something I must disconnect the tablet and use the on-screen keyboards. At first the keys would only temporarily fail, but would "turn back on" after leaving the device on for a couple of minutes. Now not only are they permanently unresponsive, but even more keys are dead now.

Still to this day, over a year after buying it, the tablet occasionally gets confused about what its battery charge is or even if it's plugged into the keyboard. It's much less common than it was in the beginning, but still happens.

Other Thoughts: I used this for taking notes during university classes. It was great for the first semester, then began to flake out during the 2nd semester of use, and is now useless as anything other than an extra battery. The device has been well taken care of, not thrown around, banged around, nor smashed between heavy books.

2 out of 5 eggssoftware limited

Pros: not a big fan of chiclet keys but typing is ok. i've typed on nicer netbook keyboards. no real issues.

Cons: biggest con is I can't turn off tapping in Android ICS on the TF-101. with tapping on I can't type without hosing my cursor. too bad, cause it really is a well made product.

Other Thoughts: asus needs to roll out another update for the tf-101 to fix this issue and disable tapping.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

Thank you for your review on our TF101 docking station. Unfortunately, there is no way to disable the tap-to-click feature on the keyboard. You can, however, disable the track pad completely and use the touch screen or an external mouse. A lot of people prefer to use a USB mouse. I don’t think tap-to-click will ever be a feature that is added to the dock’s functionality, and I apologize. If you have any other questions and/or concerns, please feel free to e-mail me at I’ll be happy to address and issues that you might have.

Best Regards,

ASUS Customer Loyalty

1 out of 5 eggsTF101 Dock

Pros: Was recommended to me

Cons: Purchased this for my wife as a gift, we were moving out of the USA within weeks and I did not have time to play with it, my wife said it had a funny language, not USA English. When I turned it on I could not read any of the information, took a bit to figure out it was in Polish… who would think they are purchasing a unit in the USA and expect it to be formatted in Polish; just the start of many problems with this unit.

Within 6 months the battery not charging issue came up on the ePad and the Dock and the issue with the keys not typing also showed up, I found out this was a known issue with Asus. OH, and the USB cable issues… Since we moved out of the USA getting it serviced under warranty was way too much work and hassle but it was fixed and covered.

Now, two days past the original warranty date the keyboard has begun to show problems again and the Service Center is already giving me some possible trouble of covering it. Will have to see if Asus covers it or if they just blow m

Pros: Pros - A Must Have! I regret that I didn't purchase both the tablet & keyboard together. Easy assembly and looks professional. Love It!

5 out of 5 eggsGet it, you won't be sorry!

Pros: Its a keyboard!. Great battery life. Easy docking, expanded ports, track pad

Cons: None!

Other Thoughts: Docked to my TF-101 with ICS 4.03 build Looks like they have solved all the bug issues with this latest build. BTW, if you have battery drain issues still, goto SETTINGS / Asus Customized setting... scroll down to "mobileDock Battery saving mode" and untick the box, then re-tick the box. You might have to reboot. I had no issues with battery drain after doing this, several builds before

5 out of 5 eggsWORTH IT

Pros: -Works
-USB works great
-Impresses even the most techy people, which is fun :-)
-Works great with dual battery widget

Cons: -If you have larger fingers, it will take a bit to get used to it, but you can do it

Other Thoughts: -You may find it easier to disable the touchpad while typing. In fact, I found it both fun and easy to just navigate with the touch pad and jump down to the keyboard when I needed to type

-Being a poor college student, I wasn't sure if I really wanted to invest the money, but since we just had a fire, I needed something I could type up my inventory list on. Until I get a laptop, this thing will be an awesome replacement.

4 out of 5 eggsgreat

Pros: perfect attachment, like the keys and layout, pretty much turns it into a netbook, fits like a glove

Cons: can't really see battery charge level of the docking station, keys can be super sensitive at times when typing

5 out of 5 eggsMust-Have Accessory

Pros: I love this device. So many more connections than the tablet itself, and turns it into the best netbook ever. Battery life is truly doubled with this, and when the keyboard runs out of juice in its battery, it draws from the tablet - does not just shut down.

The Transformer alone? Good tablet. Transformer with a keyboard? Untouchable.

Cons: My first keyboard failed after about four months of use (half the keys wouldn't work). But ASUS tech support was quick to give me an RMA. Just $10 for shipping, and in a week and a half, had a brand new keyboard in my hands. Their speed, friendliness, and thorough work keeps me from docking them an egg.

Other Thoughts: I love shocking my friends when I pull out my tablet with the keyboard attached, detach the tablet and start using the touch screen. They all flip when they see it for the first time.
