1 out of 5 eggsBad Battery, Bad Lenmar

Pros: Fits well, same color, matches computer well. cheap-er

Cons: Battery is useless! ordered in the end of 2010. Now battery wont charge, hold a charge or even give a % of charge. Battery Maintenence in mac says everything is fine, but obviously not. I try a pay attention to good charging and storage practices but didnt help. computer will now randomly turn completely turn off which has led to burning a HD! Buyer Be Aware!!!!!

Other Thoughts: I am a little confused when "Apple" uses lenmar to make the "Apple" batteries, why does Lenmar seem to not make this battery to the same standards?

3 out of 5 eggsD E A D after 6 months.

Pros: Works absolutely fine. Holds a good 3 hour charge. (*see Apple battery comparison)

Cons: Died after only 6 months (5.5 exactly) without any warning.

Other Thoughts: The battery is fine until is becomes completely useless with no warning at all. Mine simply went dead one day.

It didn't slowly hold less power, is just went dead. If I disconnected the power cable my McBkPro would shut down. Even though the battery still said it was holding 99%, etc. power.

*HOWEVER when I took my McBk to the Apple store to get it tested just to make sure, the Apple Genius told me this battery had been cycled 291 times. He said that if it were an Apple brand battery that he would be telling me that the battery only had 8 more cycles/charges left.

That being the case he deemed my battery was at fault and dead. (True) So you can spend nearly twice as much on an Apple brand that will give you the same cycle/charge count or ....

2 out of 5 eggsBe aware of what you are getting.

Pros: This is an inexpensive battery that will power your MacBook for a decent amount of time after being unplugged. Depending on task I get 2 to 2.5 hours out of this battery.

Cons: This battery presents a number of strange issues.

My MacBook does not correctly calculate the remaining power; Meaning when the battery nears depletion it skips past sleep and deep sleep modes and simply turns itself off without any warning.

Sometimes the battery stops working altogether and I get an X where my percentage should be. Removing and replacing the battery resolves this issue.

The little light on the magnetic power cable does not work when this battery is installed. It simply goes dark. Removing the battery returns it to green.

After 30 days of ownership, my battery seems to have started to puff. It bows outward in the middle along the line from front to back. This is usually a bad sign for people who like their laptops to not burst into flames.

The fit was not perfect to begin with.

Other Thoughts: This computer is a MacBook Pro 4,1 (early 2008). I believe this generation of MacBook is very picky about batteries. Maybe this is an issue that originates with Apple.

I'm giving this one extra egg above lowest score because it is inexpensive and really does have a decent amount of power behind it. Other than that it fails on every possibly aspect.

It will bring new life to your old MacBook, but will also include a few headaches.

2 out of 5 eggsNot worth the savings

Pros: None

Cons: Consumers are seeking value. The price of this Lenmar battery might be cheaper than the real Apple battery, but did not perform to my expectation. It's unfortunate that this battery started acting up (like not being recognized by MBP, or having intermittent inaccurate readings) after I could exchange it or ask for a refund.

When you cannot trust or depend on the battery of your laptop, you might as well not have one... I am going to buy the real deal because I will at least have a peace of mind that it will work when it should.

Other Thoughts: I buy a lot of stuff from NewEgg but this purchase seems to be a BadEgg. I hope that NewEgg's buyer test this product as it does not perform well.

4 out of 5 eggsNot bad

Pros: This battery isn't fancy, but it works. It's more inexpensive than a standard Apple battery, and it's the same color as a MacBook Pro. I get about 3 hours of battery life.

Cons: It's not flush with the case - there will be a ridge on the bottom of your computer. Sometimes it kicks out when it gets down to 20%, so don't run it too low.

Other Thoughts: Although not perfect, it's much better than the three year old one it is replacing.

4 out of 5 eggsgood battery

Pros: looks like the apple battery, same design, color. Fits well, works well. Used on my Macbook Pro 2.4 ghz

Cons: none yet

Other Thoughts: this is a great price compared to the apple battery, works just as well. looks good too. I havent used it long enough to know if its as good as apple battery in the long run. for now it works well, holds a good charge. My original battery wont hold more than 30 minutes, I used it for a long time. This was a good replacement.
