4 out of 5 eggsdoers the job

This review is from: Cooler Master NotePal X3 - Gaming Laptop Cooling Pad with 200 mm Blue LED Fan

Pros: It does what it supposed to keeping the laptop cooled, laptop fans used to run on high speed constantly, now this helps keep it cool.

Cons: Very bulky and the supplied usb cord constantly disconnects

Other Thoughts: It does it's job but the added bulk can be a pain.

5 out of 5 eggsThat humming fan under my Lenovo Y580

This review is from: Cooler Master NotePal X3 - Gaming Laptop Cooling Pad with 200 mm Blue LED Fan

Pros: Longevity -- Bought in 2012, still working fine. Bought a second for my wife's laptop. It still works too.

Stable. Doesn't easily slide when you deploy the feet. I sometimes I forget it's there until I go to move the laptop or unplug the USB cord and suddenly the complete silence reminds me that I unplugged my fan.

The price is not unreasonable either, another pro, IMHO.

Cons: It's more quite when you first get it, then get a little more decibels louder with the "hum" after the first several months and pretty much just stays there. Minor con, but noteable nonetheless.

The "grill" part towards the front edge and inbetween the X (refer to photos) is rather fragile actually, easily cracked. Also do not put too much pressure on the metal mesh or your fan will bottom out on the plastic shell and whack those blades (ask me how I know! >_< oops!) Worth noting the weak point on the structural design.

You can hear the hum of the fan when it's on high. And for a gaming laptop, you're usually going to have it on high. The enclosure acts as a resonator (think of an acoustic guitar) which just makes it louder.

Off-the wall con, but if it could be a little less bulkier on the edges, it would fit better into a backpack.

Other Thoughts: I'm going to a water cooled custom-build desktop computer soon using high-end Noctua fans. But while I was needing the mobility of the laptop with college and moving where I living often, this became very useful.

Hope this review helps!

5 out of 5 eggsWorth it, works well.

This review is from: Cooler Master NotePal X3 - Gaming Laptop Cooling Pad with 200 mm Blue LED Fan

Pros: -Keeps laptop cool
-Fan is quiet
-Replaces USB port(one built on it to replace the one you use for the plug)

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: This cooling pad works well and is my favorite one that I've owned. The big fan moves air and is quiet which to me is the best of both worlds. It also has a blue led that can be turned on/off which I don't use, but it's a neat feature.

When it was very hot one day on a train that the AC system wasn't working properly I plugged this into my laptop turned it on and let it blow on my face, so that was great.

1 out of 5 eggsLED button ???

This review is from: Cooler Master NotePal X3 - Gaming Laptop Cooling Pad with 200 mm Blue LED Fan

Pros: Great product kept my MSI laptop cool along with myself which is nice.

Cons: Im not sure if this is how the product is suppose to be, however, the led button does not push in to stay lit.... I can push it and the LED light comes on however it will not stay pushed in.

Until someone tells me if this is how it is suppose to be I will leave it at 1 star if the LED button should push in and stay pushed in then I need to get mine replaced..which sucks because I just got it.

Other Thoughts: Can someone please confirm if the LED button should be able to stay lit and pushed in because mine does not. :(

2 out of 5 eggscheap. broke down.

This review is from: Cooler Master NotePal X3 - Gaming Laptop Cooling Pad with 200 mm Blue LED Fan

Pros: Marginal (that means it's a *little* better than nothing, but not much) cooling of a 17 inch Macbook Pro for a month.

Cons: Expensive, ineffective, inefficient. The fan eventually broke down after a month of use. I wish I could say I drop-kicked it (or even accidentally broke it). That would've been a huge Pro.

Laptop wasn't very stationary, and the platform wasn't very comfortable to use either.

Other Thoughts: Finally got around to posting a review. I have a disability which limits my energy and ability to do things. Customer Service might not have cost me double in shipping and return and time and energy lost attempting to get a refund. My own fault. But still, a terrible product has soured me on the company.
Currently mocking me with it's presence on the shelf, 'til a day I finally have energy to return it, out of principle.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Laptop Cooling Pad!!

This review is from: Cooler Master NotePal X3 - Gaming Laptop Cooling Pad with 200 mm Blue LED Fan

Pros: This is a great product and it significantly reduces the heat of my laptop. I now almost never use my laptop except when it is sitting on one of these to keep it living longer.
-Cool LED lights
-Big powerful fan
-Gives a side USB port
-Buttons to turn on and off easily
-Easy changing fan speed
-Legs to prop-up the laptop and increase air flow

Cons: It is kindof bulky and the usb easily falls out.

5 out of 5 eggsLove it!

This review is from: Cooler Master NotePal X3 - Gaming Laptop Cooling Pad with 200 mm Blue LED Fan

Pros: Quiet 200mm fan, and I do mean quiet, if I'm in a quiet room yes I can hear it, but its not annoying, if I have the TV playing in the background or some music I can barely hear it. Plus the fan speed is adjustable so you can get it a bit more quiet. For me I keep it full blast for the most part, I bought it for my ancient laptop that I did some work to in order to have something portable that will last me for about a year. And this laptop would get burning hot.... which is why it was collecting dust for several years, the heat fried my HDD. It keeps this pig cool, the lights can be turned on/off, same with the fan with the two buttons on the bottom left side. The fan speed adjustment is right about them too.

Cons: The only con I can think of and I saw someone else mention this, is that there isn't anything on the cooling pad its self to help hold the laptop in place, there are rubber feet on the bottom of my laptop which does help hold it in place, but it still slides down the pad after a while, which isn't that big of a deal, how hard is it to push the laptop maybe an inch and a half back up the pad after being on the laptop for 45 minutes to an hour? Don't really see this as much of a problem, but figured I'd throw this out there for anyone who it would be a problem for.

Other Thoughts: Overall its a great cooling pad, I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a good pad that has some style to it.

3 out of 5 eggsNot sure if it makes a difference

This review is from: Cooler Master NotePal X3 - Gaming Laptop Cooling Pad with 200 mm Blue LED Fan

Pros: Its light weight, it works as advertised for the most part, has an extra USB port. The fan is very quiet, silent actually.

Cons: Doesnt move much air. I would much rather have had an option to make the fan spin quicker even if it makes it a little noisy. There is fan control speed, but even at the highest stting the thing just doesnt move much air at all. I'm a little bummed about it but I will still use it, it certainly wont hurt. At $30 its not a big deal. Maybe at some point in the future I will look into a different cooler that moves more air.

Other Thoughts: Its a decent product and works as advertised.... kind of. What I mean by that is it might not actually cool your laptop. It definitely makes it more comfortable to have the laptop on your lap if you put it on this cooler, but Im not convinced it drops the temps at all.
