4 out of 5 eggsKeeps things cooler

Pros: Fan is very quiet, I have had it for about 8 months now and still no noise at full speed. True, it is making some noise, but compared to the fans on my MacBook Pro... it's silent.

USB hub is handy.

Rubber feet on the bottom so no plastic touches the counter/desk/whatever.

Cons: The included USB cable has a small flaw, the surrounding plastic/rubber is a little too big to allow them both to be plugged in at the same time (too wide). This issue was solved with a razor blade and some whittling skills.

Other Thoughts: I got this for my 15-inch MacBook Pro. I used it when I was rendering videos or playing games. The big fan worked so well, the OS felt it was okay to turn down the speed of my built in fans. so to get things even cooler, I used smcFanControl. At 100% CPU usage the highest I ever saw my CPU temp get to was 87 (c). Sounds like a high number to performance PC gamers, but on a notebook that normally gets up to 100s (c) at max load, this is f$%^ing fantastic.

5 out of 5 eggsGets the job done

Pros: 220mm fan means it can move a lot of air without making a lot of noise. Can run off of 1 USB port, but it is recommended to use two if you plan on using the built in 3 port USB hub.

Cons: Size. It is a little larger than my 15 inch laptop. not the most comfortable thing to have on your lap, but is a whole lot better than a laptop running at 80 degrees.

Other Thoughts: I have a 1st gen core i7 and an ati radeon hd 4670 in my laptop, so it can get pretty hot pretty quick. I've noticed that it keeps my laptop at least 2-3 degrees cooler under heavy load (about 70 degrees C). However, my cpu drops back down to idle temperature in seconds (about 48 degrees C) as apposed to about several minutes without it, and my laptop's exterior stays cool to the touch, even under heavy load.

3 out of 5 eggsNot enough for a gaming laptop

Pros: Quiet. I don't hear it over my laptop cpu cooler.

Cons: Eats up a USB port. Also doesn't cool my HP dv6t enough when I play games, even ones that are not very graphically intense. Laptop shuts itself off due to high heat on occasion while on the cooler. My left hand still gets too warm for comfort while playing games. To use the port multiplyer you need 2 USB ports next to each other which my laptop doesn't have.

Other Thoughts: The fan needs to move more air. Not comfortable to use on your lap. I like the look of it and it is quiet, should be fine if you are not gaming.

2 out of 5 eggsI am disappointed...

Pros: -It looks nice
-AC Adapter
-USB Hub
-Very Quiet

Cons: -Doesn't cool evenly, only in the center
-Cheap plastic case
-Not big enough for 17.3" laptop
-Power button doesn't always toggle when pushed
-No power LED
-Plugging in the AC adapter feels like it's going to break the pin inside the cooler because it's so thin and flimsy
-AC Adapter was not included
-Cord on AC adapter is a little too short

I own an NC1000, and it is awesome: quiet, good build quality. This is nothing like that. I'd swear it was from a different company altogether.

This is basically a low budget NC1000 (the aluminum grate looks thinner) slapped into a cheap plastic case. I thought I was getting a better product, but I guess I was wrong. Plugging in the AC adapter feels like it's going to snap the little metal pin inside. The power button takes two or three tries to toggle.

But most of all, it just feels cheap and fragile, unlike my NC1000 which feels rock solid.

Other Thoughts: I wouldn't recommend this to anyone for the price. This one is a dud.

5 out of 5 eggsGREAT COOLER!

Pros: *Perfect angle for the laptop!
*USB hub in the back
*VERY quiet! (I couldn't tell if it was actually working when i first got its so quiet! moved the laptop to see the fan spinning)
*Love the design, you can feel cold air moving up from the tons of holes on the cooler
*Fits my asus g53 with space!

Cons: No power supply! (For 41 dollars though I can't complain)
Person rant: I woulda liked 2 140mm fans instead of one 220m, the fan has an adjustable speed, but it could be faster, but this still cools your laptop!

Other Thoughts: Zalman makes quality laptop coolers, and this is definitely one! I searched for days for the right cooler and finally bought this one after comparing it to tons of others. HURRY AND BUY!

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Notebook Cooler

Pros: This unit is completely silent. Had to put my hand on the vent to know it was on. Kicks out some pretty cool air. No noise difference raising the air flow.

Cons: It doesn't ship with a AC adapter. There is a USB cable that plugs into your notebook to serve as a power source, but it require that you have a USB slot available. Consider your USB situation before you buy this.

3 out of 5 eggscools great, but...

Pros: quiet, large single fan cools exceptionally well. attractive

Cons: mini usb port for the power adapter to the laptop was faulty, unusable. seated crookedly and off center. definitely should have RMA'd but had a spare adapter lying around that fit the usb slots. annoying but would have been a real pain in the as s for someone who didn't have it. unfortunate as this seems like a great product. if only it was built to the highest quality.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Value Customer,

Please go to our website and file a RMA for your defective units, thank you and we apologize for any inconvenience.
