1 out of 5 eggsPathetic

Pros: None

Cons: Does not work on Windows 7 64-bit. Causes a BSOD.

Other Thoughts: I would never buy this product again nor recommend it. I only wish I had heeded the warnings others gave before I bought it the first time.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat dock with limitations

Pros: I thought this dock was great when I got it. It was smaller than I had imagined when looking at the pictures here - less desk real estate is better! I installed the software, plugged it in, then added my peripherals one at a time. My 24" monitor was first and it looked great at 1920x1080. Then keyboard, mouse, printer - the usual suspects. Worked like this for awhile, and again - everything was great. See below for the reason I am returning it ...

Cons: As another reviewer mentioned, once you plug cables into it, it can't stand up. This didn't bother me - I laid it on it's side and I was happy with it. I can see how this could be a con for some and that's why I mention it here.

The real con, for me, is when I tried to play video on my external monitor. There were sections of the screen that were wavy and ripply. It should really be mentioned somewhere that this dock is for web surfing, e-mail, general work - but NOT for multimedia. I can't even imagine trying to play a game using this dock. Back to the drawing board for me. Make sure you know what you're getting before you order this.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat dock once you get it working...

Pros: Great way to connect your monitor, external speakers, keyboard, etc. to your laptop in a "centralized" manner.

Cons: Wasn't as easy as I would have hoped to get the display up and running.

Other Thoughts: Purchased this to work with my Dell Inspiron 15R. I admit this is the first docking station I have setup. I was hoping to just pop the cd in, install, and be running. This was not the case. Everything except the display was working! After reinstalling the display drivers for a 3rd time, on a whim, I tried something: Went to device manager to find the dock there. Uninstalled it, rebooted, and reconnected the dock. When windows detected the dock, I canceled it before windows could "update the driver" and voila, it worked! If it weren't for the fact that I had to jump through that many hoops for the display to work, I would have given it a 5 rating.

4 out of 5 eggsAnother monitor!

Pros: Extends another monitor, provides USB ports, works better than I expected for an extra monitor.

Cons: The drivers on the disc refused to work for me, I wasn't getting any output with them. I headed over to DisplayLink's site and used their drivers, they work. This is why I'm only rating it 4 eggs.

The display is a little bit laggy, but it's more than usable for web browsing or document editing. It's substantially better than I was expecting, too.

Other Thoughts: I haven't played with audio, as I'm just using this for another monitor on my desktop.

Also, make sure you use this on a USB2.0 port. I plugged it into a USB1.1 hub and the performance was horrendous.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat

Pros: These are the model Lenovo uses and it works great. You get a fast-switching utility to manage resolution as well.

Cons: Drivers are really hard to find at Kensington's website - also they require you to select your country when you hit their homepage. How stupid is that? They have that information but choose not to use it, but instead inconvenience the consumer.

Other Thoughts: My wife and I loaded the drivers on both laptops and each share the desk. This works great.
