2 out of 5 eggsVery poor quality

Pros: It works, I guess

Cons: The color rendition is very poor, with a greenish hue to everything, and the image, whether through a projector or to a display are far from sharp.

Other Thoughts: I did a presentation the other day, using this adapter to connect to my projector, and the image through my projector was very dark, with very poor color translation. When I use this adapter to connect my monitor, the image has a greenish hue to it and is grainy. I almost always read reviews before buying anything to do with computers. I didn't in this case ... bad decision. Do not buy this adapter. It's not worth the couple of bucks you'll save.

1 out of 5 eggsarrived defective

Pros: It fit the ports

Cons: arrived defective. there must have been a bad connection in the adapter; the monitor kept blinking on and off. Newegg would not refund so I could buy a better adapter. I paid $8 more to return the defective part and waited another week to get the replacement. The replacement part seems fine after one day but not worth the risk. My advice is to spend a little more and buy a better adapter the first time.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks fine

Pros: Performs to spec. Does what it supposed to do with zero issues. Some of the people giving it bad reviews either bought the wrong adapter or don't understand how it works when connected to TV. Have connected this to multiple monitors and projector and works great. I wish Kanex sold a Mini DisplayPort to S-video/RCA adapter.

Cons: None

1 out of 5 eggspiece of junk

Pros: It works, if you can keep it in one piece.

Cons: It fell apart (the plastic casing) the 2nd time I used it. No abuse required, just gentle handling and voila, broken! Looking at it closely, you can tell it's badly badly constructed. Never mind that it's ugly and square. Beware!!

5 out of 5 eggsNo problems at all

Pros: I've had absolutely no problems with this adapter and my 13" MacbookPro unibody. Simply plugged it in and the MBP detected it and started dual-screen mode.

Cons: The plastic feels cheap and I'm afraid it might crack/break.

Other Thoughts: Would have also preferred if the adapter was white like the MBP power cord, rather than the dingy looking beige color.

2 out of 5 eggsworks... sometimes. frustrating!

Pros: price much lower than apple's "official adapter." the pros stop here.

Cons: bought this so that i could put netflix watch instantly onto my 40" toshiba thru its vga input. when it works it works just fine. that is, when it works. basically the connection is not exactly correct and it seems to randomly disconnect and thus my tv said 'no video signal' interrupting a movie causing me to pause, plug, unplug, replug, put various things near the adapter and cable to relieve stress or reposition its connection to the itty-bitty and super-sensitive displayport (whoever designed this standard needs to be committed to a mental institution, i swear) until my tv can 'find' my macbook again. FRUSTRATING to say the least. and to boot, apple's firmware upgrade that addresses these issues does NOT apply to generic adapters such as this one, so you're probably best off avoiding 3rd party products if you want to reliably connect another display or a tv to your displayport connection.

1 out of 5 eggsthis is for a mac mini only

Pros: For me, none.

Cons: This is for a mac mini. I did a search for an iBook VGA adapter and this came up so I purchased it. If you need an adapter for an iBook, don't get this.

Other Thoughts: If you need an adapter for a mac mini I would assume it works (I haven't opened mine), but mac mini's come with this already.

2 out of 5 eggsOnly works intermittently

Pros: Works great ... when it works.

Cons: Usually does not detect my VGA monitor. I've probably tried every combination of plugging/unplugging, "Detect displays", etc. but can't figure out what's needed to get 100% recognition.

Other Thoughts: If it would work consistently, it would be a great little adapter for the price.
