Pros: The handling of this product... on the whole it feels good to the touch; in terms of security; quality and the modility of the laptop when locked. This is a well designed laptop lock. And easy to use.

Cons: Unfortunately it does not work well with our new Acer Laptops.... We have purchased three new Acer laptops and each requires a laptop lock. The laptop lock does not fit securely to the side of the laptop .... The new Acer laptops has an overlapping edge on their design that prevents the lock from securily fastening to the side. The over lapping edge design of our Acer laptop will actually create an angle to the laptop lock and when rotating the lock fromn a lock postion, it will release with out the use of a key.

Other Thoughts: If you have an Acer laptops. You may need to double check that it does not have an overlaping design near the Universal Security Slot (USS)... otherwise this laptop lock will not work. But if you have a little time on your hand .. and tinkering around, you should be able to put together a spacer or washer. This will allow the laptop lock to securely fastern itself to a flush side of the laptop. i did this for all three laptops and it works perfectly. I would still rate this a product with a 4. Just because it is so well designed.

Pros: A well made product that is easy to use. If you've watched the video on the product page you know how it works. You simply screw in a small metal post (included) with the Allen wrench (included) into the laptops lock-slot and then snap the lock onto the post. The post stays attached to the laptop. The last step, which is important, is to go online at Kensington's web site and register your key code (stamped onto both keys). This will allow you to get replacement keys if you should need to. The lock swivels 360 degrees around the post when attached so you can move your laptop around even when attached to the lock if need be. There is a heavy duty plastic strap that wraps around the plastic coated, coiled cable to secure it place when in storage or not in use. The plastic strap is secured with notches sort of like a large removable Zip tie.

Cons: None that I can think of.

Other Thoughts: I highly recommend this lock if you are in the market for a laptop lock. The metal post that stays attached to the laptop's lock-slot fits securely and won't be coming off unless you remove it with the supplied Allen wrench. The lock can be secured to the laptop without the key with just a simple click. The lock is very compact and fits tightly over the metal post secured to the laptop locking in place. The lock is compact and should not interfere with any adjacent ports or connections as long as they are at least a 1/4 inch or more away. While the plastic coded metal cable probably won't stand up to a bolt cutters of much size, it should deter the average, opportunistic thief from grabbing the laptop and running. I use the lock daily and it works very well.
