5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: -Very sturdy
-Fans run quiet

Cons: -BIG
-Uncomfortable on lap

But knew this going in so not really a con

Other Thoughts: Bought this for my Macbook Pro 2011 15" and actually lowered the temperatures quite a bit. It's probably more about raising the Macbook off the surface then the fans but still impressed.

5 out of 5 eggsTruly worth the purchase....

Pros: allows a full flow of cool air directly to the laptop to keep it cool. Purchased two of these fans and one is being used for my PS3. One black one silver. Both are quiet. Not too loud on high setting either.

Cons: Only 2 fans. unable to really clean out the inside to remove dust build up. still some dust even after using compressed air and vaccum.

Other Thoughts: Needs to be made more accessible to cleaning and an extra fan would help.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic Cooling Pad!

Pros: Adjustable from Quiet and unobtrusive, to audible and powerful. I had a laptop that would overheat to the point of shut-down from time to time while playing games (at 90 degrees), so I got this cooling pad and blew out the exhaust fans. I had no problem after that at keeping the temperatures down in the 80-81 degrees range. Yes, this is still hot, but the laptop that I had was known to run hot anyway.

Also, the pad is very nice looking. I've gotten rid of the laptop, but my wife still uses the cooling pad on hers just because it looks nice and raises the keyboard to a nice angle which makes typing easier. Also, the rubber is very grippy. I'm pretty sure that's a technical term.

Cons: A little pricey, but you get what you pay for.

5 out of 5 eggsZalman did it right

Pros: Great product. I've been running mine for 4 years almost non stop. If you keep it clean it will last forever.

Cons: Pricey. This product is a bit on the spendy side but worth every penny. You get what you pay for and much more.

5 out of 5 eggsIncredibly Reliable and Efficient

Pros: Great airflow, great cooling power, looks pretty snazzy, extra USB on the side, variable fan speeds, two big ol' fans

Cons: Somewhat hefty, not really a portable solution, best used as a desktop "dock" almost

Other Thoughts: Keeps my Dell XPS (which has horrible heating problems) cool as the other side of the pillow. Has also lasted me for over 2 years now and has sustained a bit of travel wear and tear. The nice aluminum casing still looks and feels cool to the touch. A great solution if your laptop gets hot after longer periods of game play/media viewage.

1 out of 5 eggsNice while it lasted

Pros: It worked good for 48 days.

Cons: Too bad it died on the 49th day, I wanted to exchange it but they have a 30 day return policy. The USB port on the side of the cooler does not keep the USB cord inserted so it does not power the unit up. I have to hold it in place for it to work and if I let go it shuts the power down. For the money you would think they would have designed it better. Hope Zalman can do something.

5 out of 5 eggsLove this thing

Pros: My 17" Acer laptop overheats like a champ when I run any kind of video on it. Gets hot other times, too, but doesn't fully overheat. Anyway, even setting the laptop on this cooler pretty much spreads the heat enough to keep it from shutting down. Actually plugging in the cooler and running the fan keeps the thing nice and cool. My 17" laptop fits on it nicely.

Cons: This isn't a con for the device, but I always lose the USB cord that you use to connect the cooler and laptop. I ended up buying another USB cord for a few dollars, then found the one that comes with it. If you are prone to lose stuff, consider keeping the original USB locked inside the cooler's storage compartment for emergencies and buying a longer (harder to lose) USB cord for a couple dollars as your primary connection. This has worked for me.

2 out of 5 eggsDisappointed

Pros: Very nice looking cooler that matches my Macbook pro 15. Great height (match my monitor height next to it).

Cons: Might be a good cooler if you have a fan under your laptop with a vent, however the macbook doesn't have any. So the temperature only decreased by ~6-10F idle.
USB cable could be a little longer.

Also, the fans have a clicking noise. Newegg requires that I pay $15 shipping fee to get a remplacement, which would make this cooler at a price of 80$ now. Unacceptable. Looks like I have to stick with it, or maybe hope for Zalman to help me.
