1 out of 5 eggsSave yourself some money

Pros: Nice way to organize all of the cable clutter

Cons: After fighting with my computer for over a month finally disconnected the docking station and suddenly everything worked! Slow response time when using a secondary monitor. Save yourself some money and buy something else.

Other Thoughts: I'm going to a high-speed USB hub instead of trying to make this thing work.

1 out of 5 eggsLOUSY PRODUCT...LOUSY SUPPORT

Pros: We have had nothing but trouble with the ACP50US. Returned it to the store twice for another; all THREE have the same issues with Vista Premium. Downloaded all the new driver releases and "3" calls to Targus. "IT'S NOT OUR PRODUCT!" was their response.

Cons: Video for an external monitor did not hold AND has to be reset EACH time you reboot the laptop; the network card drivers keep trying to update as their are "incompatible with Vista" per the "Problem Reports" in Vista....my antivirus program can't update unless I unplug the network card and plug it directly into the laptop. Then it works.

Other Thoughts: SEEMS LIKE A WASTE OF $129. AND TARGUS SUPPORT SUCKS!

1 out of 5 eggsNo 64bit drivers

Pros: Wouldn't know - doesn't rate even the one star - just can't leave it with NONE.

Cons: No 64bit drivers for any docking station is this series. Targus has no plans to write any.

Other Thoughts: I'm seriously ready to boycott all things Targus. They seem to have no regard for customer service. Once they have your money - you are ON YOUR OWN!!

1 out of 5 eggsTargus needs to stick with bags

Pros: Contains tiny time machine that causes your system to travels back in time to around 1995.

Makes a nice paperweight or anchor for very small boat. Otherwise, none.

Cons: World's most overpriced powered USB hub.
No Vista 64 drivers!!!
No help from Targus.

Other Thoughts: How could Targus have made three models, based on all the bad reviews they need to stick with notebook cases and bags.
No 64 bit Vista driver. Asked Targus tech support about this, they blew me off.
Got it to work with XP, barely. Video is garbage, unless you enjoy 640x480 VGA. Audio worked sometimes, forget the microphone. Eithernet does works and will make old timers have found flashbacks to ArcNet and AppleTalk networking speeds.
Guess you can only ask only some much from USB.

5 out of 5 eggsIt works

Pros: It works and works very well, current software was much better than 2 plus years ago. I own two of these and they are great to connect a laptop at the office and home for a quick single point connection.

Cons: Mouse studddddders abit. Forget about gaming it will never run fast enought.

Other Thoughts: If having a perfect working port bar was the goal, you should have bought a computer that has an OEM port bar. This is what it is a generic port bar with a single USB connection. It is what it is.

1 out of 5 eggsVGA....

Pros: Well, its a port replicator

Cons: DO NOT use this products built in vga if you plan on doing anything with hardware acceleration. you effectivly disable the nice graphics card that you payed so much for...

Other Thoughts: USB to VGA is bad....

1 out of 5 eggsBad product!

Pros: It has a small footprint and allows a notebook to get a bit more air.

Cons: TERRIBLE video quality, at least with a Vista notebook! Cursor is 'jumpy' and you simply can not watch anything with Windows Media Player. Scrolling in Firefox is FAR from smooth also. Installed it on a new Gateway Tablet with 2 GB or RAM. STAY AWAY!!!

Other Thoughts: I have no idea how they released this. I tried older drivers and newer ones. I am only using 2 of the USB ports and a 19" LCD on VGA. I couldnt imagine the quality if it had to process more information.

2 out of 5 eggsUm, still can't get it to work "completely" correctly.

Pros: The ports are laid out well in a very useable placement. The unit acts as an 'elevator' for the notebook so it gets better air-flow for cooling. When (not if) the video hangs, the rest of the unit keeps working so I'm not plugging/unplugging stuff when I need to open the notebook screen to reset the video.

Cons: I am yet to get all features working correctly. The USB=>Ethernet drivers refuse to work on my Toshiba A70 running Win2K Pro. The video hangs when certain programs open (even the audio control applet for the Targus sound on the same device!). This requires you to open the notebook screen & run the "reset video" program (a real headache).

Other Thoughts: I've not yet completed chasing down all the problems and may yet get most of it working. I doubt video over USB will EVER work correctly so just count on having 2 cables to unplug when you move the notebook. Some of my problems may stem from using Windows 2000 Pro rather than a newer O/S, but that's what I need to use at the office, so I'm stuck with it.

1 out of 5 eggswhat a joke

Pros: None

Cons: Nice theory but does not work for my application. Does not support widescreen. Mouse reaction was bad enough to almost make me start smoking again. The office computer guru and myself wasted most of a day trying to find a way to make it work. It sets in a drawer now.

1 out of 5 eggsDO NOT purchase this product - doen NOT work as advertised!!

Pros: In theory this would be a great product for those with no "universal" option. Since it does not work, however, there are no Pros I can mention.

Cons: Video through USB 2.0 is EXTREMELY choppy (e.g. the mouse moves in chops - cannot function). Even if you lower your resolution, no change. Tech support would not take responsibility - said it was not a hardware issue but limitation with USB 2.0! Hello...you designed this device to work with USB 2.0 devices!

Other Thoughts: Lets see...it doesn't work as advertised (unless you plug your video directly into your laptop - but then why not get a cheap USB Hub since most modern laptops are Wi-Fi enabled?), tech support will not take responsibility nor will they offer a solution... Move on to another product. No brainer!
