When it absolutely needs to stay on forever, Arctic Silver's ASTA-7G is the way to go. This permanent epoxy is made with 99.8% pure micronized silver and has a silver content of 62-65% by weight.

Arctic Silver is designed to conduct heat and not electricity even with its high silver content. When cured it does have some capacitance however, so it's best to keep it away from traces or leads. Arctic Silver conducts heat away from sensitive components and improves the efficiency of your cooling system. Keep things cool and functioning under the hottest action!

Features

Features
Characteristics:
Made with 99.8% pure micronized silver. 62% to 65% silver content by weight. Superior thermal performance.

Temperature Range:
- 40C to >150C (Bond strength is slightly weakened at temperatures below 0C due to crystallization.)

Negligible Electrical Conductivity:
Arctic Silver Thermal Adhesive was formulated to conduct heat, not electricity. NOTE: Even though Arctic Silver Thermal Adhesive is specifically engineered for high electrical resistance, it should be kept away from electrical traces, pins, and leads. The cured adhesive is slightly capacitive and could potentially cause problems if it bridged two close-proximity electrical paths.

Compliancy: RoHS Compliant.

Components:
A set of Arctic Silver Thermal Adhesive consists of two syringes containing a total of 7 grams of adhesive (3.5 grams each of parts
A and B) and a plastic reusable mixing wand.
Although heavier per set than Arctic Alumina Adhesive due to its use of silver rather than ceramic, each set of Arctic Silver Adhesive
contains the same amount of adhesive by volume as a set of Arctic Alumina adhesive and will cover the same area. Approximately
3cc total adhesive.

Storage:
Arctic Silve Thermal Adhesive should be kept cold and away from UV light (sunlight and florescent lighting). We recommend refrigerating the unused material and allowing it to come to room temperature prior to use.

Precaution:
Arctic Silver Thermal Adhesive is a permanent adhesive. Components you attach with Arctic Silver Thermal Adhesive will
stay attached forever.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes The Job

Pros: * Holds down heatsinks on my 560 TI video card and has for 6+ months now.

Cons: * None

Other Thoughts: * Got it with Arcticlean ACN-60ML.
* Also used with Enzotech MOS-C1s and MOS-C10s.
* Used to fix disaster of aftermarket heatsink for my 560 TI. Had to remove old glue then glue in new heatsinks.

5 out of 5 eggsOrdered by accident

Pros: It's a good brand, and great product.

Cons: Ordered it by accident lol, Bought two things of it, when I was suppose to buy one, and a thing of thermal paste lol.
(not worth sending it back because of cost)

5 out of 5 eggsAS silver thermal glue

Pros: Amazing, works WAY better then the old dab of super glue in the corner of the chip with some as in the middle of it, I use it for gluing homemade ramsinks to vid card memory, pretty much anywhere you want a HS, or want to upgrade a hs

Cons: Once you stick something with this stuff it is STUCK....You WILL rip components off by trying to remove it....the ONLY way that I have found is if you leave a little bit of a corner unglued so you can get a razor blade under it to pop it off, But then your still left with half of the glue on the HS and half on the chip...and it doesnt come off either well at all, the AS Cleaner wont touch this stuff once it dry just FYI

Other Thoughts: I have as much as I hate to admit it ruined a 9800xt WAY WAY back ( looked like a Viper John card, CPU HS on it voltmodded0 that was an insane overclocker 2nd best out of all of them at xtremesystems.org and OCfourms.com....by removing the ramsinks to upgrade them to a bit bigger ones, after pulling everyone off without a hitch...the LAST one came off with the heatsink.....I thought I was going to cry....

5 out of 5 eggsASTA-7G = <3

Pros: I FREAKING LOVE THIS STUFF! I don't think that most human beings comprehend how ridiculously amazing this stuff really is! The heat dissipation is amazing. It has helped me double the life of almost every electronic I own.

Cons: Leaves a mess if you get it on your hands, and I personally use a "pure" solvent when I do accidentally get some on me. Isopropyl alcohol just doesn't cut it sometimes, but it's not harmful. Please note that most solvents are directly linked to neurological disorders, so it's best to just avoid the problem in the first place and follow these guidelines:
WEAR GLOVES! BE CAREFUL! KEEP PATIENT!

Other Thoughts: Without this, my life would be incomplete. I'm not even joking.

Pros: Cant beat this for things you want to be there a very long while. Transfers heat very well.

Cons: Just remember it may be there forever. You could break stuff trying to get it off!

5 out of 5 eggsThe Best Stuff Ever

Pros: I'm still breathless. I purchased this stuff to permanently attach the Enzotech CNB-R1 Forged C110 paired with the SUNON KDE1204PKVX to my Gigabyte 790FX Northbridge because Gigabyte has the craziest pin set. My Temps went from 44C to 29C. And get this the ambient temp is 23C -no overclock yet-. I still can't believe it, I'm thinking there must be temp malfunction or something, but its confirmed by both my aerocool temp sensor and the onboard temp sensor. I am so amazed and happy all at the same time. The last time I was this surprised was when I went from an HDD to a SSD. So I turned around and used it on my mosfet with a full block from Enzotech, brought its temp down from 33C to 28C. I was so impressed with this stuff I started thinking of other things I could use it on. So I have this analog-to-digital video converter that would get super hot and start to malfunction or shutdown. So I grab some 4x4 Enzotech mosfet blocks, and pasted it on. Now no problems.

Cons: continuation- So I thought man what else can I us this for. My router that gets hot, cold soldering, cold welding, anode and/or cathode adhesive. The possibilities are only limited by my brain and creativeness. I can't tell how awesome this stuff really is, you just need to buy some and experience it for yourself. Even if you don't need any, buy some and I guarantee you'll use it.

Other Thoughts: I had read in one of the other articles that it takes a day to cure, but that is definitely not the case. The two chemicals cause an exothermic reaction causing it to cure faster (so said arctic silver and I can confirm). It goes from a liquid state, to semi-gel, to gel, to solid, all within about an hour for myself, and with only about 15min worth of workable time. I used it with some plastic so its not caustic to plastic. And from reading the manual on arctic silver's website, they recommend to not use in direct exposure to sun-light confirming my hypothesis that it is a thermosetting polymer epoxy. Meaning if you do need to break to bond for whatever reason UV exposure will do it. If your a DIYer this is an absolutely, without a doubt, a must have item.

5 out of 5 eggsImpressive

Pros: -Good thermal transfer
-Very good bond

Cons: none noticed

Other Thoughts: This stuff, as you can see, works in a 2 tube design like an epoxy. I got it to affix an actively cooled northbridge heatsink to my Perc 5i Raid adaptor. The OEM heatsink is held on with clips so the only option was to use an adhesive and affix the sink directly to the raid processor on the card when using a 3rd party cooler. Application was fairly easy, the mix is just slightly thicker than normal AS 5 and still easy to work with. A tiny dab has held the roughly 50 gram aluminum sink and fan in place like a rock after the 1 hour set time. The places where i'd need a thermal adhesive are few and far between, but this product really did a great job, and if I had to I'd buy it again. AS recommends storing unused product in the freezer.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: Excellent heat transfer and tremendous holding capability. Have used this for Video Card heatsinks and other permanant heatsink installations.

Cons: Only con I can think of is once you set the part and it hardens, you are probably not ever going to get it off unless you ruin the part.

Other Thoughts: For my last project, I actually used this to attach 1" high aluminum letters on to a Computer case and I can tell that the letters are not coming off anytime soon. DO NOT USE FOR YOUR CPU !!
