Thermal compound is necessary to create a reliable transfer of heat from your computer's processor to its heatsink to keep your CPU from overheating. Arctic Silver 5 thermal compound does this with three unique shapes and sizes of pure silver particles to maximize particle-to-particle contact area and thermal transfer. It's optimized for use between modern high-power CPUs and high-performance heatsinks or water-cooling solutions. This 3.5-gram tube contains enough compound to cover at least 15 to 25 small CPU cores, or 6 to 10 large CPU cores, or 2 to 5 heat plates.

Note: This is an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) version, which includes the product, but nothing else. They are packaged generically and are best suited for system builders who don't require documentation or bundled accessories.

  • newegg 99.9% Pure Silver The Arctic Silver 5 uses three unique shapes and sizes of pure silver particles to maximize particle-to-particle contact area and thermal transfer.
  • newegg High Density The Arctic Silver 5 contains over 88% thermally conductive filler by weight. The thermally-enhanced ceramic particles including micronized silver, sub-micron zinc oxide, aluminum oxide and boron nitride particles improve the compound's performance and long-term stability.

5 out of 5 eggsHolds up over time

Pros: I know there are a ton of other pastes out there, but there's a reason people say "trusty ole Arctic Silver"

It just works

Cons: Don't advise using on your GPU since it is conductive

5 out of 5 eggsGood stuff

Pros: Works well

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: My friends and 99.9% of the internet techs agreed that this is some of the best thermal paste you can buy. I am now one of those people.
Buy this and nothing else! :D

5 out of 5 eggsNever go Wrong with Arctic Silver

Pros: This is one of the best thermal compounds one can get. Lasts awhile as you do not need huge goops of it. Spreads easy.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Havent done any thermal tests on this but never had any overheating issues. Obviously hard to clean up just like any compound.

5 out of 5 eggsHighly Rated!

Pros: Great stuff ! Have trusted this name since I started working on computers back in 2000.

Cons: There is a few past out there that offer better cooling than this but for the price vs protection Arctic Silver has always been a great choice.

5 out of 5 eggsOnly the best

Pros: Excellent product for cooling, I got about 8 uses out of one tube. Replaced the thermal compound on 3 GPUs and 5 CPUs and I couldn't be happier.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: So good that I bought another just to have on hand.

5 out of 5 eggsMy Go-To Thermal Compound

Pros: If you are looking for a paste this is the way to go IMHO.

Example: My CPU temp at the moment on my air cooled overclocked 4790K is 36-37c on a stock fan.

Cons: Seems a bit long to actually "cure" for optimal heat transfer.. (Took me about a week) Not worth taking off an egg. I usually wait a bit before i overclock anyways.

Other Thoughts: When trying to apply this stuff, I've had the best results using the "X" method personally.

This is where you put a small X in the middle of the CPU for a good & even coverage with the least amount of air pockets between the CPU & cooling device surface.

Youtube it if you're curious. :)

5 out of 5 eggsWorks like it should

Pros: A great replacement for other thermal compounds.

Cons: There are no cons that I can think of.

Other Thoughts: I used this to replace the cheaper thermal compound on my processor and this is working much better than what was on there before.

5 out of 5 eggsArctic Silver 5 High-Density Polysynthetic Silver Thermal Compound

Pros: Comes in multiple sizes, last long after opening, ease of use, great product all around. There is only one product that I use for CPU heat transference cohesion compound and it's ARCTIC SILVER! Nothing but the best will do...

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I have used this product for over 20 years and have had no CPU fail due to heat. Always apply in a circle spot form about the size of a nickel for bets results and don't be stingy with it, this is the brain of your PC and no one likes a hot head.
