Thermal compound is necessary to create a reliable transfer of heat from your computer's processor to its heatsink to keep your CPU from overheating. Arctic Silver 5 thermal compound does this with three unique shapes and sizes of pure silver particles to maximize particle-to-particle contact area and thermal transfer. It's optimized for use between modern high-power CPUs and high-performance heatsinks or water-cooling solutions. This 3.5-gram tube contains enough compound to cover at least 15 to 25 small CPU cores, or 6 to 10 large CPU cores, or 2 to 5 heat plates.

Note: This is an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) version, which includes the product, but nothing else. They are packaged generically and are best suited for system builders who don't require documentation or bundled accessories.

  • newegg 99.9% Pure Silver The Arctic Silver 5 uses three unique shapes and sizes of pure silver particles to maximize particle-to-particle contact area and thermal transfer.
  • newegg High Density The Arctic Silver 5 contains over 88% thermally conductive filler by weight. The thermally-enhanced ceramic particles including micronized silver, sub-micron zinc oxide, aluminum oxide and boron nitride particles improve the compound's performance and long-term stability.

Pros: Fantastic stuff, keeps my cpu very cool i use a Hyper 212 plus and my processor is a amd fx 8120 processor it keeps it at a nice 35c idle and over loaded it doesn't go over 60. I was using some other paste from antec it was horrible! but this stuff is great :)

5 out of 5 eggsMarvelous

Pros: After a year, went to refresh the thermal paste on the CPU. No need, still was great, wasn't overly baked like I expected other pastes to be.

Cons: You have to pull the piston back after you push, otherwise it keeps on coming out. So strange

Other Thoughts: Good stuff, I wonder if I can get gold paste too?

1 out of 5 eggsSeriously outdated

Pros: Better than stock paste.

Cons: Outdated, electrically conductive (silver, duh), and overpriced.
Waste of silver that could have been used in jewelery or dinnerware instead.
It also takes hours to set in.
No reason to buy this product in 2015, c'mon people!

Other Thoughts: For the same price you can get a Noctua NT-H1 which is WAAYY better and is not conductive or capacitive. It also sets in rather quick
