SPEC

Specifications
Average Particle Size: <0.36 microns <0.000015 inch (70 particles lined up in a row equal 1/1000th of an inch.)

Temperature limits: Peak: -150 Degrees C to >185 Degrees C Long-Term: -150 Degrees C to 130 Degrees C

Coverage Area: 25-gram syringes. (Approximately 9.2cc) At a layer 0.003" thick, one tube will cover about 200 square inches.

Important Reminder:
Due to the unique shapes and sizes of the particles in Ceramique 2, it will take a minimum of 25 hours and several thermal cycles to achieve maximum particle to particle thermal conduction and for the heatsink to CPU interface to reach maximum conductivity. (This period will be longer in a system without a fan on the heatsink.) On systems measuring actual internal core temperatures via the CPU's internal diode, the measured temperature will often drop slightly over this "break-in" period. This break-in will occur during the normal use of the computer as long as the computer is turned off from time to time and the interface is allowed to cool to room temperature. Once the break-in is complete, the computer can be left on if desired.

Features

Features
Tri-Linear Ceramic Content:
Like the original Ceramique, Ceramique 2 uses only ceramic fillers so it is neither electrically conductive nor capacitive. The tri-linear composite of aluminum oxide, zinc oxide and boron nitride allows the thinnest possible bond line with modern processors, heatsinks and electronics. Critically-sized particles and new ultra-high shear mixing techniques maximize Ceramique 2's thermal performance and help maintain a stable homogenous suspension. This exclusive combination provides performance exceeding most metal based compounds.

Polysynthetic Suspension Fluid:
A new oil mixture, improved thermal filler properties and increased particle deagglomeration, dispersal and density enhance Ceramique 2's thermal performance and overall stability. The third generation polysynthetic suspension fluid combines advanced synthetic oils to maximize wetting and stability while allowing a higher density of thermally conductive fillers.

Excellent Stability:
Ceramique 2 is engineered to not separate, run, migrate, or bleed.

Electrical Insulator:
Ceramique 2 does not contain any metal or other electrically conductive materials. It is a pure electrical insulator, neither electrically conductive nor capacitive.

Performance:
2 to 10 degrees centigrade lower CPU full load core temperatures than standard thermal compounds or thermal pads when measured with a calibrated thermal diode imbedded in the CPU core.

Innovative Dispenser:
The amount of compound remaining in the 2.7-gram syringe is easy to determine as the rear of the plunger is perfectly flush with the flange when the syringe is empty.

Easy Clean Up:
Ceramique 2 can easily be cleaned from CPUs and heatsinks with ArctiClean, isopropyl alcohol or any of the cleaners listed in the product instructions.

Compliancy:RoHS Compliant

3 out of 5 eggsWorth the mess?

Pros: Plenty of paste for a fair price. Nice syringe applicator.

Cons: Super sticky, messy, and very difficult to spread.

Other Thoughts: If I had known how hard it was to apply a thin, even layer of this stuff, I would have never bought it. Yeah, it works, but I don't think it's worth the effort it takes to put it on. (and clean off.) As far as cooling goes, it's not any better than the cheaper brands I've tried. I'm really starting to doubt if thermal paste is even necessary. I recently saw a review on all of the top brands, including this one. Guess what performed just as well as them? Mayonnaise. yep.

4 out of 5 eggsSo far, So good

Pros: I bought the tube originally not knowing if I'd need to use it building my computer. Turns out both the APU heatsink and the Liquid cooler I installed had some pre-applied. I just found my liquid cooler's thermal compound had already dried out and began to overheat my APU.

I just dropped a blob of this onto the unit, stuck it to the chip and bolted it in. So far, definately 15c cooler than idle was before. at least.. Its been in the computer for a little over an hour, and its still 15c cooler than it was before

Cons: None yet!

Other Thoughts: I don't recall WHY I picked this compound, other than price, brand rep, and according to the reviews, I might have picked it because it's not electrically conductive. something someone like me (who's never applied thermal paste before in his life) would find invaluable.

$9 for a tube of ceramic 'glue' of sorts for a CPU Cooler? Hell, I just spent $899 on parts, Might as well burn another $10 on preventative care, Right? Glad I did!

4 out of 5 eggsArctic Silver CMQ2 works better than silicon

Pros: Transfers heat a bit better than the silicone grease
Cheap

Cons: Not as mobile as silicone

Other Thoughts: It appears to lower my temps by a couple of degrees. I read a forum post that said one should spread this thinly, rather than putting a glob in the center and expecting it to spread. The second time I put it on, I spread it thinly. Works great.

5 out of 5 eggsArctic Silver

Pros: Works great. Running a LGA1150 I7 and it works just fine. Change it every six months or so. Never had any problems with heat.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Make sure you don't get it everywhere! It can be a pain to clean up.

5 out of 5 eggsIn addition to my other review

Pros: See below

Cons: See below

Other Thoughts: This one just kills me. Along with the broken tube of heatsink compound was a page from Intel offering me 10% off on several items, including an SSD and a Celeron NUC. But my favorite was the addition of Haswell Core i3 processor. I'm buying expensive, enthusiast heatsink compound and they offer me a discount on an i3! Why not an enthusiast chip like a K version of the Haswell i7? My guess is they can't unload those low end processors. This is an all around fail for Newegg.

5 out of 5 eggsShipping not up to par

Pros: No pros. Haven't used it yet. See 'Other Thoughts'.

Cons: No cons at this time

Other Thoughts: Arrived with tip broken off. No doubt due to shipping in a padded envelope. This is shoddy and inexcusable. I'm not paying the shipping cost to send this back considering how little it cost. Just be aware you may receive your tube in the same condition. I'm not giving this one star as that would reflect a bad product. Personally I'm giving Newegg 1 star for their shipping.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Product Arctic Silver Makes

Pros: This stuff is actually better than the Arctic Silver 5 and it is not electrically conductive, meaning you dont have to worry about seeping out because even it you smeared it all over your motherboard, it wouldnt do anything harmful.

Cons: There is better stuff out there, but this stuff is good enough for 99.9 percent of system builders out there.

Other Thoughts: Make sure you buy the big tube. It's a much better deal and this stuff keeps for many years. It won't dry out.

5 out of 5 eggsStill works after 2 years

Pros: Large volume
Non conductive
A little goes a long way and you get a ton
2 years old tube and still works great.
After 2 years of usage on an overclocked Phenom II 975... it was still fine and not dried out.

Cons: Tough paste... hard to spread

There is stuff that will lower temps by a degree or 2 better than this

Other Thoughts: This tube lasts so long and works so good I think the cost is probably too low. I guess if you're constantly using it then Arctic gets more money as you buy it again, but I've built 5 PC's now and have had this for 2 years and it still work great.
Yeah there is "better" stuff out there, but 1~2C difference is not a big deal... I watercool anyways.

5 out of 5 eggsYayworks

Pros: Properly applied, this drops your [insert hot chip here] temps. Exactly how much depends on the chip, the cooler, and the reference thermal compound. CPUs will get a few degrees cooler.
Used on Asus/AMD Radeon HD 4670 with Asus' big aluminum HSF. Load temps were 60C with reference compound (slightly non-reference cooler). I spread some AS Ceramique II over the heatsink, and load temps dropped to around 55C after it was done setting in.
Cheap.
Lasts for at least a year before the thermal interface needs to be resurfaced, assuming you don't move it. I haven't gotten this stuff to degrade, so I don't know the practical limit.

Cons: There are more potent thermal compounds out there.

Other Thoughts: My favorite method is to put it on the heatsink and spread with a razor blade, but it's touchy and only going to work properly on convex heat spreaders. If you do that on a concave surface (i.e. Intel CPU), you'll get air bubbles.
Takes several thermal cycles before it sets up properly.
