1 out of 5 eggsBEWARE "Shelf life: 24 months from DOM"

Pros: Cheap

Cons: First off the date of manufacture was 2004. Forth line down in SPECS section gives the shelf life statement. Templates are 370 & 423 CPU's! Why would Newegg or its suppliers allow this? I find it hard to believe that there is no quality control when it comes to outdated/expired time sensitive materials. I refused to even open the tube and see. Newegg did make a refund.

Other Thoughts: Not really sure if this is even compatible with newer processors.

Manufacturer Response:

4 out of 5 eggsWorks Fine

Pros: Very easy to apply. Easy to clean up. Used it on my gtx 470. The stock tc was dried and my gpu was gettin hotter every day. I put this stuff on and right now my gpu is idling at 35C, before the repaste it idled at 44C. At full load before repaste i was at 75C, now im at 69C. The noobs that are complaining that this stuff isnt working for them isnt doing something right, may it be the amount used or seating their heatsink properly. I bought this stuff at micro center for $2.99 + tax.

Cons: Its not expensive so people will assume it sucks.

4 out of 5 eggsbetter than stock

Pros: replaced the processor on my laptop and went for this because of the low cost. And hey its about 4 degrees C lower than before and im running a more powerful processor. Other reviews also stated that it's viscosity was the same as glue. when i used it it was the same consistency of peanut butter so i call that good.

Cons: Its not liquid nitrogen

Other Thoughts: bought this before labor day weekend so i had to wait 5 days to get it. (my fault not usps or neweggs)

5 out of 5 eggsGood stuff don't listen to noobs

Pros: 1. won't bridge multipliers
2. sets in 24 hours
3. Very pliable spreeds easy
4. application card comes with tube.
I get a 23 degrees celcius per core and 34 degrees total at idle on a i3-550 and it's in a M-ATX cube case (aerocool QX-2000) that run a lot hotter. I also get 48degrees celcius at 100% load on Intel Burn test Extreme setting. That's great for a little dual core in a confined cube box.

Cons: if you don't pay attention and don't know how to apply thermal compound you can put to much on and yes it will run. See other thoughts.

Other Thoughts: I have been using this product for all my personal builds and daily laptop repairs as a DEll Certified Systems Engineer and field tech for laptops and desktops for over a year and this product works great! I think a lot of people don't know how to properly coat a CPU or are using the grain of rice or thin line techniques WHICH SUCK. I'm gonna tell you how. You don't need much at all and the best way to apply this is to do a thin spiral starting in the middle and spiraling out then wiping an even layer, edge to edge with the card. After that put a small dot on the heatsink (or wipe the excess from the card accross the heat sink) and cover then heatsink THEN wipe it off with the dry paper towel or lint free coffee filter. This is called "seaoning the heat-sink" All you want is a dull haze over the heatsink it self. When you place the heatsink on the CPU, keep a slight even and steady pressure on the heatsink. DO NOT lift up and put back down you'll get air pockets in the paste!.

1 out of 5 eggsHigh Performance... Yeah Right!!

Pros: Nothing.

Cons: Everything.

Other Thoughts: Overclockers and Enthusiasts, do not buy this. I bought this mistakenly thinking it would do the job since it's from Cooler Master but I was totally wrong. Spend a little more and get Arctic Silver 5 or similar. This is a piece of cr&p. With this I get idle temps of around 40C. Also it's white... I never seen thermal compound that's white. Looks like Elmer's glue or something. I wouldn't even use this on my mom's old computer with a P4. Junk.

Manufacturer Response:

Hichanh55,

We apologize for any inconveniences we have caused you. Did you apply a full layer of the thermal compound? Sometimes a small amount might not get the job done. We wish to assist you with any problems you might have. Please contact us via Live Chat if you have any questions. Link is below for your reference.

5 out of 5 eggsIts not too bad

Pros: It's quite cheap and it works. I picked this up at a local store because i needed thermal compound right away and it does its job. I have been using this stuff for a good six months now on a phenomII and the newer FX6100 overclocked to 4.2 and in conjunction with a coolermaster v6 it does quite well. I have no clue how other people have been having problems; mine hasn't been "runny" when i put it on or "Dry" up with every passing week. Maybe they corrected this issue or maybe people just got a bad batch. It happens i suppose.

Cons: It tastes icky (didn't know I had some on my nails and I decided to randomly bite them. . . don't need to tell you how that went down now do i?)

Other Thoughts: Good stuff on the cheap. You seem to get a pretty good amount also.

4 out of 5 eggsIts thermal paste

Pros: Temps on an i3-2100 seem to be low enough with stock heatsink(31c-45c load), no heat trouble but theres not alot of heat to begin with. Exhaust fan of my case can be used as an A/C. Good for a cpu thats not going to be overclocked.

Cons: Tube is misleading to how much paste is actually in it. Appears as if youve got plently left until its out. It looked like i only used about 1/4th of it with my build but was embarrassed when i let a friend use the rest of it when there was barely enough to cover the cpu for his build.

Other Thoughts: The end that u push like a syringe looks like it can go another inch or so when you run out of paste looking like you've got more than is actually in there. Its good stuff, but i honestly wouldnt recommend it. There's better paste for the same or less out there. Just don't expect to get more than 2 applications out of it.

5 out of 5 eggsKeep it cool

Pros: Cheap. Comes with templates that you can stick on your heatsink like a sticker according to the socket type. little credit card size tool to spread the paste. Remove template sticker from heatsink and you have a perfect paste spread.

Cons: None!

5 out of 5 eggssweet deal!

Pros: For one of the cheapest cases it looks pretty good. It is a small case and not to deep which is like. Many reviews complain about the quality but you get what you pay for and for 27 dollars I am pretty satisfied with this case. Yeah the material is thin and sharp on the inside. So you be careful installing hardware.

Used it to built just a budget and it actually looks pretty good.

Cons: No optical led to show optical drive activity.

Other Thoughts: I used my own stand-offs and screws which I still had. It's a bit tight but I managed to get a full ATX in there.

5 out of 5 eggsSo far so good. :D

Pros: Easy to apply, get a few uses out of the tube. Cheap

Cons: The template didn't match my CPU sockets. :(

Other Thoughts: I got this at a local store for $3, and it's worth every penny. I got this stuff as a replacement for my 1 year old stock compound that came with my Athlon II x4 630. Passed on Artic Silver b/c benchmarks indicated that it's only about 2-3 degrees more effective than toothpaste. Would've used toothpaste, but I don't want to replace my compound every week. I went this stuff because it was cheap, and made of the standard material, so hopefully I won't have to re-apply too often.

Temps dropped dramatically. Before I idled at 33c, now between 23-24c. Load was 65c easy. I'm running a torture test and I'm sitting on a cool 53 about 20min in. Not changing much. Still using stock HSF at stock 2.8GHz.

BTW, other reviewers complained about this paste being runny. I had not problems applying this paste. I was a thinner than I expected, but no issues, and this is my first application of thermal paste, so I'm not sure what standard paste is suppose to feel like.
