Cooler Master's RR-920-N520-GP "Hyper N520" combines a stylish, elegant design with silent operation and a brilliant cooling solution. Designed to cool the full range of current Intel Socket LGA 1366, 775 and AMD Socket (AM3/AM2+/AM2) processors, it does so with gusto. It features a unique split fin design that puts more surface area within the space cooled by over 43 CFM of airflow from the dual 92mm fans.

A selection of mounting components allow the user to obtain the optimal installation of the cooler to the motherboard so that the cooler's copper base is snug against the CPU's heat spreader. Five 6mm U-shaped copper heat pipes draw heat away from the processor up to the array of aluminum convection fins which they support. The heat is dispersed at a silent 19 dBA by the fan which spins on long-lasting sleeved bearings.

  • newegg Superior Heat Dissipation and Cooling Performance The copper base and 4 copper heatpipes conduct heat fast; high-density aluminum fins maximize heat dissipation area, plus dual 92mm, 1800RPM sleeve bearing fan to deliver optimal cooling performance.
  • newegg Universal Socket Compatibility The Cooler Master RR-920-N520-GP features broad compatibility with AMD socket 754, 939, 940, and AM2 platforms, as well as the Intel LGA 775 and 1366 platform.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing

Pros: Works amazingly! Keeps my i3 (I know not super impressive, but good enough) when over clocked at around 35 degrees Celcius

Cons: Huge. Had to buy a new case because I had to take the side off of my old one. But an extra $50 doesn't kill me and I wanted an upgrade anyways.

Other Thoughts: Buy it. If the fans are too loud, get new ones. This thing works as well as a water cooler and is so much quieter. Great for overclocking.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Heatsink Great Price

Pros: My cpu water cooler's pump recently broke and I bought this as replacement because i could not beat the price. After I installed it has done just as good as my water cooler use to do. It keeps my I7 920 at 26 degrees idle. Plus it is about 100x times quieter than the pump.

Cons: none as of yet

4 out of 5 eggsYou get what you pay for.

Pros: Decent price on sale for $24 CAD.
Works better than a stock CPU Cooler.
Comes with 2 fans so you can set up push pull.

Cons: 92mm fans.
Non-contact copper heatpipes.

Other Thoughts: I would suggest the Cooler Master Hyper 212 over this because it comes with Direct contact copper heat pipes, and the ability to mount the same push/pull configuration but with 120mm fans, which in turn provide better airflow at a lower noise compared to 92mm fans.

5 out of 5 eggsI love it!

Pros: Easy to install on a AMD FX-8350 CPU upgraded from the Stock CPU fan running at 10c now!
Might I add that I installed this cooler without removing the motherboard in a Cougar ATX case!

This baby is QUITE! can't even hear the fans running !

Cons: None at all!

Other Thoughts: I heard about this Cooler being very popular i can see why now i recommend this cooler!

Tip: When installing the Cooler use two tables of the same height and level it will make it easy to install.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing.

Pros: Worked perfectly with my m59 case, my fx-8150 idles at 28c, dead space 3 on max settings only reached 44c! This plus artic silver 5 is the perfect combo.

Cons: Almost requires 2 people to put on the motherboard, always running a max at 1800rpms, can't be controlled with the y splitter, or I'm just not doing something right.

Other Thoughts: Worked perfect, would defiantly recommend.

4 out of 5 eggsNow able to overclock my i7 920 CPU!

Pros: I'm now able to overclock my old Intel i7 920 by 30% from 2.66 to 3.675 GHz. It is relatively quite. Idle temps are in the mid 40's and medium load temps are in the high 50's. I don't have prior temps for comparison with the stock cooler. Remember, some people say the i-7 920 runs hot compared to the latest ones, eg Ivy bridge, so it appears that temps in the 60's under load are a significant improvement with the N520. My oc'd system, thus far, is relatively stable post installation of this new CPU cooler.

Cons: $29.00 post rebate is not a bad deal, but still a tab expensive compared to water coolers.

Other Thoughts: I was able to install it alone without completely removing the motherboard (MB) from the case (Antec P182). I removed the stock cooler and the old thermal paste with 91% isopropyl alc. I partially lifted the MB (Asus P6T) to a vertical position, while still attached to misc connections in the case. I used the extra brown shipping paper from Newegg to support it in that position. I applied thermal paste (TP) on the CPU, using the pea method. Next, I quickly attached the cooler to the CPU while the MB is in the vertical position. I rocked it a few times to evenly spread the TP. With one hand on top and bottom of the MB to hold the back plate while tightening the screws with hand torque only. It wasn't easy, but it would have been a huge inconvenience to completely remove the MB from the case. It was a little hard to install this way, but this little method saved me time and frustration. I hope this method works for some of you who want to install this cooler in an existing system and don't want to completely remove the MB.

4 out of 5 eggsLike a boss!

Pros: Prolly the best heatstroke I have ever owned. Super quiet, super efficient.

Cons: Not really a con, but I'm going to deduct an egg, for the fact that there is no arrow on the heatsink to show airflow direction. There is a small pic with some features that would point you to how to mount the fan, but after turning the computer on, it was in fact backwards, drawing air away from the rear exhaust. Easy fix, simply unbolted and reversed the fans. I had to reverse the fans because I don't have a cutout in the back of my case to un-bolt the fan from the motherboard.

5 out of 5 eggsFits well, cools great

Pros: Installation was easy and the dual fans keep the heat sink nice and cool. Came with Y adapter to plug both fans into a single controller on the mobo. Looks great and performs great too!

Cons: Leads coming off each fan were a little short. If you wanted to use both cpu_fan and cpu_alt slots on the mobo (separete monitoring of each perhaps) you'd need to use extensions to reach. The included Y adapter makes it easy to use on a single slot though which I was fine with so no eggs taken off.

Other Thoughts: Probably a little airflow more than I needed for my build but I figure it's better to make sure the CPU stays frosty than have it run warm. Great fan for OC'ing if you don't want to go the water-cooled route but still need significant cooling power
