Cooler Master's RR-920-N520-GP "Hyper N520" combines a stylish, elegant design with silent operation and a brilliant cooling solution. Designed to cool the full range of current Intel Socket LGA 1366, 775 and AMD Socket (AM3/AM2+/AM2) processors, it does so with gusto. It features a unique split fin design that puts more surface area within the space cooled by over 43 CFM of airflow from the dual 92mm fans.

A selection of mounting components allow the user to obtain the optimal installation of the cooler to the motherboard so that the cooler's copper base is snug against the CPU's heat spreader. Pros: Temps are good, using specy heres my temps for using it for atleast 4 months with dust collection:

35 idle and 45ish on load

Pros: My CPU was running up to 90 degrees C on stress tests and idling at 47. Now it idles at 34 and has only ever gotten up to 56 under stress tests. The air flow through my computer is so much higher now, even though I had to remove a large side panel fan to fit the cooler in.

Cons: Not really a con, but it is quite large. I have a fairly large case (6.5 inches wide) and it is almost too big. Make sure you have enough room for it. Also, a backplate is required for installation, meaning you have to remove the motherboard completely. If you are uncomfortable with this then be warned. If you proceed, take lots of pictures before you unplug things to make reinstallation easier. All this being said, it was my first time removing the motherboard and it wasn't that difficult.

Pros: I believe one of the most often overlooked attributes of cpu cooling solutions out there is the mounting brackets.

I chose this cooler above others because its brackets are metal, NOT plastic. Do yourself a favor. Never buy a cooler with plastic mounts! Think about it, this thing will be sitting vertical on a delicate chip - with literally billions of transistors in it - embedded in your motherboard! Why would you leave that job to plastic parts??

Plastic brackets are how competitors cut costs to your detriment. Thankfully, this cooler delivers, not only in its mounting solution but also in the cooling it provides. My Haswell i7 is running at optimal temps with a light overclock.

I also appreciated that the brackets were insulated properly with thermal tape, and that the cooler came with its own thermal compound, which took the guess work out of finding my own (the viscosity and silver content of the compound are important in relation to the cooler specs).

This isn't the top echelon of coolers out there, but if you are the average enthusiast, this is a solid buy.

Besides, my thinking - if you're going to do overclocking that requires something as ridiculous as the gargantuan noctua, save the unnecessary stress on your mobo and go with a more appealing closed loop liquid solution. You'll even be able to see whats in your case.

Cons: Not necessarily a con, but the fans are slightly smaller than what you may expect.

Other Thoughts: I also liked the gunmetal gray finish - it looks better than I expected.

Cons: 92mm fans, low cfm, insufficent cooling ability

Other Thoughts: I purchased this cooler assuming i could overclock my 8320. My case gave limited options for air coolers so i settled for this one hoping it would perform. I was wrong, i couldn't even run the 8320 on turbo (4 ghz) before reaching high temps

Pros: Awesome CPU Cooler, brought me down to 11C idle and 30-40C during intense gaming sessions. Looks awesome, fun to install.

Cons: Sort of loud, due to the 2 fans. However if you have a good case you cant really notice it. But considerably louder than stock cooler. Sort of time consuming to install. Be wary when installing heatsink that you dont use too much thermal paste, and when screwing it down, be sure to go in a star pattern so you get an even spread of thermal paste.

Pros: 1.) Push/Pull fan configuration
2.) All metal design w/ exposed (copper) heatpipes

Cons: 1.) somewhat tall (didn't worry me due to full tower case)
2.) aftermarket backplate no matter what socket type (again, con to some--not to me.)

Other Thoughts: This Cooler is absolutely amazing. My case is plenty deep for this to fit (AZZA Genesis 9000), but may be too tall for some mini-ATX or ITX cases. Does NOT obstruct any DIMM slots on my MoBo, but that may be a motherboard design.

Pros: I was very impressed with this cooler, I love to overclock, my Motto is faster is always better, I have my AMD FX6300 overclocked to 4.41 Ghrz. and my temp is at 41 c. running Prime95.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Would recommend to anybody on a budget.

Comes with fan splitting cable
Very efficient. Stopped my FX-8150 from turning my computer into a space heater and I can play any game on ultra without the fan even revving up from its lowest state. Worth every penny.

Cons: Big, fits in my Raidmax Super Atlas just fine though.

Pros: This reduced my temperatures from the stock AMD cooler drastically. I sometimes got up to 170 degrees fahrenheit under full load, with this I rarely get above 120. Install was easy, though if you don't have much experience it might be a little daunting.

All in all it did exactly what I was hoping, so it definitely gets a 5 egg review from me.

Cons: This thing is pretty big. If you have anything less than an ATX mid tower case you're not going to be able to fit it. Just barely fits in my Thermaltake V3.

If you have tall heat spreaders on your RAM there's a good chance this is going to block a RAM slot. I'm only using two of my four slots so it isn't a big deal for me. It hangs over the slot nearest the CPU, but won't affect regular sized RAM sticks.

The instructions in the box are useless. Go to Cooler Master's website, they have color pictures and much better instructions.

Other Thoughts: This is what I'm using it on:

Motherboard: ASUS M5A97
CPU: AMD FX 8120
RAM: 8GB (2x4GB sticks) Patriot Viper Xtreme

Remember if I had been using all four slots one of my RAM sticks would have been blocked by this thing. If you plan on using all 4 I highly recommend getting RAM with short heat spreaders.
