Cooler Master’s Hyper TX series has evolved with requirements of mainstream CPUs. The introduction of Hyper TX3 marks another milestone with Cooler Master's first-ever full compatibility - Intel LGA 1156 socket. The Hyper TX3 also brings back the "original" direct contact heat-pipe design from Cooler Master.
Pros: price - performance ratio. easy to install. spare clips for push/pull config.
e7400 @ 3.5 under 50c after 2 solid hours of gaming. for a twenty.
Cons: clips for fan can be a bit fiddly if you rush and don't watch what you are doing. fan loud if you run it full speed (duh, it's a 92, not a 120)
Other Thoughts: about applying thermal paste on this:
don't panic. first - put a little drop ( half a grain of uncooked rice size) on your processor. spread with finger wrapped with plastic baggie. massage it good. second - put a little stripe down each heatpipe. get a piece of thick paper or a credit card. smooth the paste down running WITH the heatpipes.
clamp in place.
for the fan - put clip on one side of heatsink, hold fan where it goes, and use a small screwdriver to pop the ends of the clips into the holes on the fan. repeat for other side. should not take more than a minute, honestly.
much easier than one of those old flower type coolers with the brackets and the screws and whatnot.

Can't complain

Pros: Came free with the i7 860, Gets the job done, 33c idle, 47c full load, No complicated screws, mods, custom fittings required.
Cons: Bit too loud if you let it run at full fan speed, No helpful installation manual comes with it.
Other Thoughts: The installation procedure that attaches the fan to a heatsink, as so many people have discribed, can be a real head-scratcher due simply to the fact that it comes with no manual that shows you how to properly put them on. However, if you search for "Hyper TX3" on Youtube, there is a very well made and easy to understand installation video guide that will make it an absolute snap.

Pros: Good price, versatile to different chipsets.
Cons: It wasn't as easy as I'd have liked it to be to install, and it comes with far too little thermal paste.
Other Thoughts: Buy this if you're built a few PC's... not if it's your first one.

Great value and works well too!

Pros: Value, quiet, cools well
Cons: Pain to mount. Even the AMD setup is a little much a pain.
Other Thoughts: While myX3 435 stock HSF was OK I wanted to get somwthing that woudl give me a little OC headroom without raising temps. Well the stock HSF under load the CPU would be around 40C and with this it is 31C and I already have it mildly over clocked to 3.05 GHz and will try for more once the CPU and RAM burn in. Not a bad deal for $20!! I gave it 4 egss becaue the mounting bracket is flimsy and pain to get set up, but the HSF performas well.

Pros: Awesome fan, Q8300 is idle at 34c consistently. The bracket design has changed from what is in the pictures. They no longer ship with the metal clips, but instead plastic brackets which are super easy to assemble. Also, attaching it to the motherboard wasn't hard at all. Just play around with the clips before you attach to see how they work.

Highlights
Superior Heat Dissipation The Cooler Master Hyper TX3 features "heatpipe direct contact" technology for efficient heat conduction, plus high-density aluminum fins for maximum heat dissipation. The 92mm fan runs efficiently to deliver unparalleled cooling performance.
Expandable for a Second Fan Add a 2nd cooling fan (optional) to the Cooler Master Hyper TX3 to achieve the best possible cooling performance!
PWM Function The PWM function automatically adjusts fan speeds according to the CPU temperature for efficient cooling and minimized fan noise.
Universal Socket Compatibility The Cooler Master Hyper TX3 features broad compatibility with AMD socket 754, 939, 940, and AM2 platforms, as well as Intel LGA 775 and 1156 platforms.
