5 out of 5 eggsI'm happy

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper TX3 - CPU Cooler with 3 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Dropped my temps about 10-15C. I was idling around 45-50C with my Intel stock cooler (poor paste application, caked dust), hitting right up against thermal limits under load. Now sitting at 35C idle, 53C under max load.

Comes with a syringe of thermal paste instead of the little ketchup packets that some other coolers come with.

Thermal paste was pretty forgiving. I messed up locking the cooler in a few times but still have temps that make me happy.

Easy installation, pops and locks just like the Intel stock cooler, no need for a backplate.

Cons: Instructions are good, but don't really highlight the minor differences in mounting the Intel pylons for LGA 775 vs 1155/1156. There's a slight difference.

The fan will make it difficult to lock in two of the pylons if you have fat fingers.

Other Thoughts: I can't really say anything about the noise this cooler does/doesn't generate. My desktop has a 50dB 130cfm intake fan on the bottom that's always running at max speed, so the cooler's volume is irrelevant for me.

1 out of 5 eggsQuiet, but useless.

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper TX3 - CPU Cooler with 3 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Quiet, cheap

Cons: Pain to install for AMD users, practically no different in effectiveness in relation to the stock cooler

Other Thoughts: Took forever to get the AMD fittings on this thing and finally installed. After which, it idles at 61c, which was 4c less than the stock cooler, and this is at max rpm. The only difference from the stock cooler is less noise. Definitely not worth it. As soon as I decide on another cooler, I'll be returning this one.

4 out of 5 eggsThere's Hope

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper TX3 - CPU Cooler with 3 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: It fit in my case and it has a simple push pin mounting system for Intel CPU's.

Cons: My CPU temps are slightly high so I want to try different paste and remount it. The clips that hold the heat sink seem fragile so i hope there's no issue when i remount.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing value!

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper TX3 - CPU Cooler with 3 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Runs cool
Dirt Cheap
Extremely easy installation

Installed on my FX 8320 to replace the extremely bad stock cooler that was running at loud high RPM. Stock cooler was over 40c idle.

After installing this cooler with the CM thermal paste it did drop to around 34c. I ordered some Arctic Silver 5 to re-apply and now my idle is about 28c (26c ambient) and 46c max while gaming. Really happy with the results.

Installation on the FM3+ was an absolute breeze. Uses the stock backplate and retention hardware and has the ability to mount it in any of the 4 directions. Obviously I mounted it so the cooler fan blows it right out the rear case fan.

You cannot beat the performance for around $20.

Cons: I'm not docking an egg for this, but if I had anything negative to say it would be about the retention bracket and CM paste included. The bracket seems a bit flimsy but works fine. The stock thermal paste as stated above works fine but you get much better results with some premium paste. It's still worth every penny if you have to spend the extra on premium thermal paste.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Cooler

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper TX3 - CPU Cooler with 3 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Good Cooling, far less noise than the supplied AMD heatsink fan combo. That's the reason I had purchased this, due to the AMD fan sounding like a jet engine all the time.

Cons: Installed on the AM3 socket, found the clip that you press down to lock the cooler on, kept coming off initially. Once you manage to get it on it's fine and secure.

Other Thoughts: Just Make sure your case can clear (side panel) the cooler as it's tall.

5 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper TX3 - CPU Cooler with 3 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Keeps my AMD 4.0g 8 core where it needs to be while gaming. 100X quieter than the fan that came with the cpu

Cons: Not self cleaning....but since none are I suppose I won't complain too much

5 out of 5 eggspopchris

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper TX3 - CPU Cooler with 3 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Great for AMD3+ mobo, installed with the fan face to the back of the case is a plus, plenty of clearance from the ram, keep my amd 8 core cool below 30 c at idle and 40 c loaded, quiet fan, easy install

Cons: Heatsink mount slightly off from cpu but still cover the the whole cpu, still keep cool, measure your case width from the cpu out before purchase, the TX3 is pretty tall.

Other Thoughts: my son has been using it for 5 months and he's happy.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't waste your time or money

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper TX3 - CPU Cooler with 3 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: It is the most elaborate looking paper weight I have ever owned.

Cons: First off, don't even bother looking at the directions. The "instructions" are a series of pictures about the size of a thumbnail picture on social media sites. They don't help at all.

It won't matter though because the heatsink doesn't even fit on the motherboard. I spent about 30-45 minutes trying to seat this thing properly onto a i7 1150 / Maximus Hero VI mobo. The Intel stock heatsink clipped in first time, no problems at all. With this hunk of junk, you can get 3 of the 4 clips in and then the last clip can't even reach the final hole on the mobo.

Last time I buy a cheap heatsink. Save your money and spend the extra cash for a heatsink companies actually do quality control on.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

We apologize for the trouble that you are experiencing with the Hyper TX3. The Hyper TX3 is compatible with the intel 1150 socket.

Please contact us so that we can assist with the installation.

4 out of 5 eggsFits AM3+ facing the exhaust - Great temps

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper TX3 - CPU Cooler with 3 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: I purchased this as a temporary solution for my FX8320. It works wonderfully! And for all the people who think it can't be mounted to face the rear exhaust (AMD) LOOK at the mount! The bracket CAN thread through the heat pipes! It's a little awkward to close the clamp, but if you install the fan AFTER you mount it... it works fine. I tried the paste that comes with it and got temps around 55¤ on load with just the one fan. I went out and put some A.S.5 on it and was able to run Prime95 torture keeping steady temps of 50¤! Sound to me is a non issue.

Cons: Not a 212 EVO or H2O Cooling unit
