Cooler Master's RR-920-N520-GP "Hyper N520" combines a stylish, elegant design with silent operation and a brilliant cooling solution. Designed to cool the full range of current Intel Socket LGA 1366, 775 and AMD Socket (AM3/AM2+/AM2) processors, it does so with gusto. It features a unique split fin design that puts more surface area within the space cooled by over 43 CFM of airflow from the dual 92mm fans.

A selection of mounting components allow the user to obtain the optimal installation of the cooler to the motherboard so that the cooler's copper base is snug against the CPU's heat spreader. Five 6mm U-shaped copper heat pipes draw heat away from the processor up to the array of aluminum convection fins which they support. The heat is dispersed at a silent 19 dBA by the fan which spins on long-lasting sleeved bearings.

  • newegg Superior Heat Dissipation and Cooling Performance The copper base and 4 copper heatpipes conduct heat fast; high-density aluminum fins maximize heat dissipation area, plus dual 92mm, 1800RPM sleeve bearing fan to deliver optimal cooling performance.
  • newegg Universal Socket Compatibility The Cooler Master RR-920-N520-GP features broad compatibility with AMD socket 754, 939, 940, and AM2 platforms, as well as the Intel LGA 775 and 1366 platform.

Cooler Master’s Hyper TX series has evolved with requirements of mainstream CPUs. The introduction of Hyper TX3 marks another milestone with Cooler Master's first-ever full compatibility - Intel LGA 1156 socket. The Hyper TX3 also brings back the "original" direct contact heat-pipe design from Cooler Master.

  • newegg Superior Heat Dissipation The Cooler Master Hyper TX3 features "heatpipe direct contact" technology for efficient heat conduction, plus high-density aluminum fins for maximum heat dissipation. The 92mm fan runs efficiently to deliver unparalleled cooling performance.
  • newegg Expandable for a Second Fan Add a 2nd cooling fan (optional) to the Cooler Master Hyper TX3 to achieve the best possible cooling performance!
  • newegg PWM Function The PWM function automatically adjusts fan speeds according to the CPU temperature for efficient cooling and minimized fan noise.
  • newegg Universal Socket Compatibility The Cooler Master Hyper TX3 features broad compatibility with AMD socket 754, 939, 940, and AM2 platforms, as well as Intel LGA 775 and 1156 platforms.

Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO CPU Cooler

Unmatched performance for the value, these are the tenants that guided Cooler Master engineers when designing the Hyper 212 EVO. Patented Continuous Direct Contact (CDC) technology ensures that the heat pipes are free of barriers while drawing heat away from the processor. A PWM fan ensures that fan speed can be intelligently controlled to ensure that it only speeds up when more cooling is necessary.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat cooler for smaller cases

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper TX3 - CPU Cooler with 3 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Cools my stock FX-8320 very well (idles ~23-27* according to psensor)

VERY quiet.

Cheap

Fits in my case. I would have gone with the Hyper 212, but my case is not blessed with ample space.

Cons: Installation is a ROYAL pain on an AMD socket. The lever is just a tad too short IMO, meaning it takes way too much time getting everything lined up properly.

I worry about the stability of the cooler without a backplate. Fully seated, and properly installed, it still can be twisted around a bit on the socket (not much, maybe 5 degrees either direction, but still, it's not locked in perfectly).

Other Thoughts: Docked an egg for the installation. All in all, it is what it is. An amazing cooler for cheap. If you can't fit a bigger cooler in your PC, or can't afford better, this is a fantastic replacement for the stock coolers.

5 out of 5 eggsHighly recommend

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper TX3 - CPU Cooler with 3 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: I am very impressed with this cooler. It quietly keeps my I5 2500 below 50*C at full load, and the fan stays well below 2000rpm. The install was rather easy, I spent more time working with thermal paste than installing/assembling the cooler.

Cons: I wish the direct contact heatpipes were smoother, and flush the cpu face of the cooler; It might make for better heat transfer. Took a few minutes to work thermal paste into the small gaps.

Other Thoughts: Purchased for a failing stock intel coolers in my HTPC/Gamer, specs:
CM Hyper TX3
Intel I5 2500
ASUS P8Z77-V LX
4X2GB Kingston DDR3 1600
MSI Gaming GTX 750 Ti
NZXT Phantom PHAN-002OR
Samsung Evo 120GB
2 X WD Green 2TB
Seagate 250GB
2 X LG Blu-ray Reader/burner
Corsair 430 PSU

5 out of 5 eggsPretty Good

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper TX3 - CPU Cooler with 3 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Fits perfectly on a LGA 775
Provided better cooling than the oem cooler.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I bought this to replace my Neptwin Deep Cool Heat sink that I installed on my newer gaming machine with a core i7. This was definitely a good move rather than putting the ugly stock cooler on.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Cooler

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper TX3 - CPU Cooler with 3 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: -Good air flow
-Easy-ish Install
-Push/Pull made easy
-Push fan high enough to clear RAM

Cons: -Large - Even with a full tower, this things stands tall. Mid-sized case owners beware.
-Can be a bit loud when at load. Nothing bad, just sounds like air moving, no other mechanical noises.

Other Thoughts: You really can't get much better temps for the price of this thing. I opted for this model simply because it was smaller than the 212. I have a AMD 6300 any temps never got about 38 celcius when playing BF4 (Used Arctic silver paste). Also, to my amazement the push fan cleared my G-Skill rip jaw RAM heat spreader by at amost 2mm.

Highly recommend this cooler.

4 out of 5 eggsShould have got Water Cooling

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper TX3 - CPU Cooler with 3 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Was decently easy to install considering all the other Heatsink & Fans that are out there. For it being small and have only one fan, it kept my processor nice and cool.

Cons: It was kind of loud. Going to be switching to water cooling soon so my computer can be more quiet.

1 out of 5 eggsTerrible Experience/Hope this Helps

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper TX3 - CPU Cooler with 3 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Love the design and theory behind this CPU Cooler and the price is great.

Cons: The cheaply made plastic pins.

Other Thoughts: I bought this product based off it's specs for fitting an Intel Socket LGA 775. The plastic pins on this cooler are very weak. I know motherboards can take some force, but I get paranoid of cracking and try to keep away from forcing things in that are past my uncomfortable level. These pins easily bent out of shape. Although, I do believe they may be a hair too big for the pins surrounding my CPU that hold the cooler in place.

I Sent an e-mail to the company and recieved an immediate e-mail back telling me I have a Ticket number and a professional will get back to me. That was 8/17/2014. Since then I have sent 2 more e-mails, one going to another support E-mail Addy I came acrros, in regards to needing product assistance. I have also waiting far too long with no connection to an online live agent.

I even checked my e-mail settings in case it may be sending there email to trash or deleting it, but everything checked out okay.

If you see this, please help. Trying to set up a computer for my Father and I already don't have much time in my days to build this computer and to struggle getting in touch with company.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello Tyson G,

I apologize that you were not able to get in contact with our support team. Please contact me directly so that I can get you a replacement accessory kit.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat performance for smaller cases

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper TX3 - CPU Cooler with 3 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Keeps my CPU nice and cool- haven't stress tested yet, but max temp according to psensor was 40* @ 47% load. FX 8320 running stock speeds. What's more, I should be able to get the temps even lower. I have a 120mm intake blowing directly at the cooler that hasn't been plugged in yet (mobo doesn't have enough connectors so I'm waiting on a Y cable), a 140mm front intake, same deal, and room for another fan on the cooler itself.

CHEAP- Got this for $15 after rebate.

Quiet- my whole system is quiet, but even when I open the case up, I can barely hear any noise from the cooler fan.

(Relatively) compact- My case only had room for coolers up to 150mm, so the obvious choice (hyper 212) was out. The cooler also does not cause any problems with RAM clearance, although I have low profile RAM.

Cons: Installation is a royal pain - Took me almost 30 minutes to get the tabs lined up properly (AMD), and I'm really not looking forward to do it all over again when I add another fan to the cooler (the cooler prevents me from reaching the CPU fan headers while it's installed)

Other Thoughts: Great performance, especially if you are dealing with budget or space limitations. Almost definitely going to replace this when I OC, but from the temps I'm getting so far I wouldn't be surprised if it allows for a moderate overclock, especially if you're running a low TDP chip.

3 out of 5 eggsGood cooling until the fan died.

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper TX3 - CPU Cooler with 3 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Cooled my CPU well.

Cons: The fan failed just outside of the warranty period.

Other Thoughts: 92mm fans are common, not difficult to replace.

5 out of 5 eggsNice

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper TX3 - CPU Cooler with 3 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: 4 days from order to delivered, easy install, and it dropped full load temps of my AMD X2 5000+ 75-80 C to 50-55 C. Yes it's almost 10 years old and still kicking. Hard to beat Newegg

Cons: None so far!
