4 out of 5 eggsCooler Master Hyper TX3 - CPU Cooler with 3 Direct Contact Heatpipes

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper TX3 - CPU Cooler with 3 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: I have an AMD Athlon II X3 450 CPU installed in an Asus 5A99X motherboard. The TX3 the installation was not problematic. It did improve my temps when the CPU was at full load. Idle temps didn't drop much but any improvement is still an improvement. And I did go ahead and used the Cooler Master thermal grease if anyone is interested. But I have no complaints. At the price I got it, the ease of install and seeing some improvements in temps, it's a winner.

Cons: After ordering/receiving, I tried to order the 2nd fan, couldn't get it--was out of stock. Not a Hyper TX3 issue, but I would like to try the recommended fan to see if I can squeeze out a bit more temp drop.

Other Thoughts: On stock fan/heat sinc, I was max'g out at temps of 72-75 degrees c at times on full load and I do video editing so this was a huge concern for my hardware. But so far with this cooler idle times improved by about 3 degrees c and max'd out temps have levelled off around 59-62 degrees c. Not ideal, but it is an improvement over what I was getting.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Little Cooler

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper TX3 - CPU Cooler with 3 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: I got this for use in a build making use of the AMD FX-8320 on an Asus SaberTooth 990FX. I'm actually surprised with this cooler's performance. I have my system OC'd to 4.3GHz, and rarely break over 41'C under a full load.

Cons: This is not really a con, but rather a minor annoyance: the mounting clip can be difficult during the first install, but once you've done it once, it's pretty easy after that; Like I said, not really a con.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend this to anyone looking to replace the stock cooler, as well to those who only plan a moderate overclock. It does fairly well, and I'm happy with it. I set it up with a second fan for push-pull use, and it work great. Also, even though I don't care about noise level, it is pretty quiet.

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper TX3 - CPU Cooler with 3 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: 1/7/2015 need a new stock fan put in parts request guess what as of today 2/20/2015 still no fan but thats ok there working on it and trying there best my overclocked AMD A10 - 7850k's temps are starting to get sketchy so they better hurry.

Cons: stock fan started to lose RPMs and started to sound like a car engine when starting up in my cold room .

Other Thoughts: i love coolermaster

5 out of 5 eggsGood Cooler

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper TX3 - CPU Cooler with 3 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Good sized without being ridiculous in size. 92mm fan is plenty. I use it on my AMD Phenom II X4 965 BE 140w and it cools it just fine. Idle temps are about the same but I saw a 10 - 15*C drop in temps while gaming. Especially after I replaced the stock fan with two Arctic F9 fans.

Cons: The fan is a little loud and whiney but does the job. I elected to replace the single fan with a push/pull setup using Arctic F9 fans. The heatsink itself is very nice

3 out of 5 eggsMore quiet than stock

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper TX3 - CPU Cooler with 3 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Cooler & much quieter than stock AMD heatsink and fan. Larger than stock heatsink = more surface area to dissipate heat but small enough to easily fit in standard tower. Cheap.

Cons: Installation don't auto center, two piece hinge for AMD installation a bit of a pain. bottom to top orientation for AMD not optimal for cooling because it draws in heat from GPU but still better than stock cooler
