Cooler Master’s Hyper TX series has evolved with requirements of mainstream CPUs. The introduction of Hyper TX3 marks another milestone with Cooler Master's first-ever full compatibility - Intel LGA 1156 socket. The Hyper TX3 also brings back the "original" direct contact heat-pipe design from Cooler Master.

  • newegg Superior Heat Dissipation The Cooler Master Hyper TX3 features "heatpipe direct contact" technology for efficient heat conduction, plus high-density aluminum fins for maximum heat dissipation. The 92mm fan runs efficiently to deliver unparalleled cooling performance.
  • newegg Expandable for a Second Fan Add a 2nd cooling fan (optional) to the Cooler Master Hyper TX3 to achieve the best possible cooling performance!
  • newegg PWM Function The PWM function automatically adjusts fan speeds according to the CPU temperature for efficient cooling and minimized fan noise.
  • newegg Universal Socket Compatibility The Cooler Master Hyper TX3 features broad compatibility with AMD socket 754, 939, 940, and AM2 platforms, as well as Intel LGA 775 and 1156 platforms.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent fan

Pros: Well made, but simple, which keeps the price down. Nice and quiet when fan runs <= 2k RPM.

Installation was a breeze for my Ivy Bridge CPU. The instructions are easy to understand. For socket 1155, it uses the 4 push pin method. Just make sure the heads of the pins are rotated opposite the arrows printed on the heads during installation. The arrows are there to tell you how to take the heatsink off.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: On my Intel DZ77BH-55K mobo, my Intel 3770 CPU with Arctic Silver heat sink compound idles at 38 deg. C with the fan at ~1k RPM. Under the Passmark stress test, the CPU got up to 60 deg. C and held steady, even with the fan still blowing at only 1k RPM. I'm happy about this, as 60 deg. C is well within the spec of the CPU (which can safely handle up to 85 deg. C). I'd rather have the machine quiet than super cool, though my mobo lets me adjust the fans so I could make it cooler at the cost of fan noise.

Pros: Easy to install for AMD

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Went from a stock AMD cooler on my Phenom2 975.
Lowered the idle temps by almost 10c!
Very happy with this purchase.

5 out of 5 eggsInstall Heads Up

Pros: Quiet, efficient, inexpensive.

Cons: If you install on AMD and orient it to blow towards the back of case, be aware before you lock lever that the heatsink is centered on the processor. It can be locked down shifted off center too much. I didn't notice this, and ran it for 2 days before noticing it. No harm done. I think they need some kind of a centering indentation in the bottom of the aluminum grooves.

Other Thoughts: Running Prime 95 temps not over 51C AT 75F ambient. Llano 3870 no OC.

5 out of 5 eggsEven Cooler now

Pros: Okay, I wrote the review below, and maybe it was a bit premature. It seems, that after having a day plus to settle and perhaps the paste to dry up some, this thing is working even better than I had hoped.

I have been watching TV and doing school work at the same time, plus have 3 other windows open and my CPU hasn't gone over 34C, and it's been at least an hour of streaming cable TV...!

Excellent heatsink for the money!!

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Excellent heatsink for the money.

5 out of 5 eggsNice and cool

Pros: I'll preface this by saying I'm not an OC'er and use my machine mostly for editing and watching video, and streaming video. While typing this and watching seinfeld , and with three tabs open, I'm averaging about 37C and I cannot hear the fan at all...!

No fan noise is a big plus because it drives me crazy, and I don't hear this one whatsoever.

Cons: Directions stink, but it's not so bad. Only took about 5 minutes to install.

Other Thoughts: My system consists of:
Phenom II X4 830
16GB RAM
Sapphire 2GB Video card
1TB HDD (7200)
Corsair PS
Win7X64

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I've had this in a fresh build for almost a month now, and it keeps my CPU cool.

Smaller than the 212Plus

Good Price.

Cons: The installation was a little sketchy, as the pins didn't want to work with me very easily, but it wasn't a dealbreaker.

5 out of 5 eggsExactly what I was looking for.

Pros: Quiet, seems study, easy installation, works incredibly well.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Took my old rig with a socket 775 P4 3.0 GHz overclocked to 3.46 GHz from running 45°C idle and up to 58°C, to 27°C idle and 35°C under load.

I worried about all the mention of finicky 775 installation and minimal instructions.... but found it to be amazingly easy and straight-forward. Installation from opening the box to turning my rig on was no more than 10 minutes.
