4 out of 5 eggsCooler Master Hyper TX3 - CPU Cooler with 3 Direct Contact Heatpipes

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper TX3 - CPU Cooler with 3 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Great Cooler. the double fans expansion is great.

Cons: only one egg less because it almost don't fit on my Mid ATX desktop, rare but yes it a little bigger.

Other Thoughts: just centimeter less it would be no problem. is too big, but does it work perfectly.

4 out of 5 eggsNot Bad

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper TX3 - CPU Cooler with 3 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Like many others have said the clips to secure the heatsink are a bit of a paid in a Mid or Mini tower because of the room issues, meaning that if you don't remove the fan in some cases you can't reach the pins. Not a problem for most. The cooler itself works well in my backup build(Q9650)and keeps the temp around 45 degrees.Really liking it so far especially with the price point.

Cons: Bulky in smaller cases......aforementioned clips......and mounting the adapters either AMD or Intel can be a pain if you have big hands. The instructions are useless

Other Thoughts: ALWAYS remove the clear plastic protector on the CPU side of the heatsink or you will have a really bad day

5 out of 5 eggsSo Great That It Killed My Motherboard

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper TX3 - CPU Cooler with 3 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Funny story, this thing has such good cooling that I could keep my FX-6300 further, further, and further on my cheap, but well featured, motherboard that I bought in 2013. I just kept pushing the clock speed higher and higher. HWmonitor said that a part was reaching high temperatures when I hit the 4.6 GHz point on my CPU (with more voltage to go before hitting 1.41). HWmonitor did not know the name of the part so, as I found in my research, it provides it the name of TMPIN to such parts. I think it is safe to say that this part belonged to something on my Motherboard because my computer will not boot or anything the day after doing my crazy overclocking. I did not notice that this part reached such a high temperature (Because I was going "H$%y COW, look at these low temps" every time I looked at my CPU temps) until my computer underclocked itself while I was doing Prime95, so I looked at ALL my temperatures to find one part reaching 85C. A moment of silence to my cheap Biostar Motherboard. Haha, good job CoolerMaster.....I will see you in court. Just kidding CoolerMaster.

Cons: Deadly

Other Thoughts: Great cooler that is reasonable in size for those who don't have very deep cases. Now I am going to have to measure out new motherboards by using ratios to make sure this thing does not hit my RAM or anything.

5 out of 5 eggsVery stable for an obsolete socket

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper TX3 - CPU Cooler with 3 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Came with all the necessary equipment for most of the cpu sockets to date! Thermal paste in which i also used to repair an old GPU that needed new thermal pasting!
so far i have been amazed at how close this rivaled an older thermaltake cpu cooler of the same style, but had a 120mm fan, and was alot thicker! everything runs under 65c and sometimes can idle around 27c! I am running a 775socket Q8200 with light overclocking. I pushed it to the limit as far as my motherboard is capable of overclocking and maxed it out at 2.8 ghz and the heat never went past 68c, i was skeptic at first, now i am just impressed with it that i took the back case fan off of the machine, now its just one fan doing everything. Noise level is decent, can rev up high but is not annoying, it runs quieter then my PSU fan! i am very happy with it and is a great price to replace a stock cooler. was not sure about spacing between cpuc cooler and ram, it fit fine and made the motherboard look pretty cool. dual fan support for a push pull or just pull which is nice, make sure you have another fan connector.

Cons: the manual took 2 looks after getting the screws in the right place for the socket type, the manual could use a re edit. The locking pins are standard plastic and i cant stand those because they can break or strip easily, so i was very careful when clamping them to the motherboard, for something alittle more stable, i strongly recommend a cooler that has better material. did not come with a second fan for the setup, i hear there is one you can buy that has dual fan setup. you can order another one online for better cooling efficiency and can attach to the other side for a pull setup.

Other Thoughts: i was really not sure regarding how universal this thing can be, i tell you though if you plan on upgrading from an old socket to a new one, this cooler will be a breeze, has a futureproofing setup even if you swap intel or amd builds!
its been very stable, I have put it through overclocking and constant reboots after i completely reworked a desktop. If you plan on doing more smaller builds i would recommend this, just make sure you have adequate space so you are not cramped or has a difficult time putting one of these in. The nice thing about this one, its like a little brother, you can fit him in a micro tower cas or a mid tower and have work to work with! i been happy with it, and plan to use it on another build later n in the future.

5 out of 5 eggsValue for money

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper TX3 - CPU Cooler with 3 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: - excellent cooling on 95W CPU
- Cheap!!!
- quiet
- small... comparatively
- easy install... for me

Cons: - fan might not clear taller RAM on some MB
- fan wire should be black
- no blinking LEDs... j/k

Other Thoughts: What can you say for a $25 cooler? 92mm PWM fan is worth $10 alone. i5-2500 idles at 30C @ 20C ambient. Prime 95 has a hard time going past 56C with fan @ 1400RPM (PSU fan is louder). 92mm width works great on a tight ITX board and leaves the PCI slot free unlike the Hyper 212 I tried first. I'm even tempted to try some semi-passive cooling using the nearby case fan in pull.

5 out of 5 eggsWonderful cooler, some small faults

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper TX3 - CPU Cooler with 3 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Rather quiet
Simple installation
Great cooling capability
Smaller form factor makes moving around easier than 212 EVO
Ability for dual-fan setup is a bonus
Looks nice with LED reflection

Cons: I've installed many different coolers, and this is the first one where the clips dislocated themselves from the motherboard. I won't remove an egg for this because it may have been my fault.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend this for essentially any build that doesn't require an enormous amount of cooling. The TX3 is keeping my 6600k @ 4.4GHz nice and cool (under 75c) and there's nothing there I could complain about. Installing is very easy and only people with smaller cases will have space issues. It doesn't make much noise unless it's really running, which has only truly happened to me during stress tests but I personally like knowing my CPU cooler is doing something.

5 out of 5 eggsCooling a AMD 940 Black edition for 7 years and going

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper TX3 - CPU Cooler with 3 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Cools my AMD 940 Black Edition with no problems. Don't remember temps during stress test but I've never had any overheating issues with it, even after all these years.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Fit my small Mid Tower no problem. Had plenty of room. Don't think there would be any problem fitting this in 95% of the mid towers out there.

5 out of 5 eggsMuch better than expected

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper TX3 - CPU Cooler with 3 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Compact design fits snugly in my Thermaltake core V1 mini case
Cools better than expected
Quiet
Cheap
Cooler Master Brand is quality
No need to install a backplate

Cons: *Neweggs shipping is really getting slow (not to deter from the product at all), but took 2 weeks to arrive....
Not water cooling, but its not trying to be
Uses the same style plugs that intel does on its stock cooler (yuk)...but its easy to install.

Other Thoughts: After reading all the naysayers out there that this wasn't even close the the 212 evo, I didn't expect much. I've owned many different cooling solutions over the years from custom water loops, to AIO water solutions, to 212 evo and many others. I recently did a mini ITX build and needed something compact that wouldn't make me switch out the big front fan in my Thermaltake Core v1 case. Ya, I thought about watercooling, but decided it wasn't worth the cost for my Skylake i5 6400. So, looking at what would fit in my small case, this baby popped up. As mentioned, I owned many other products and really liked the tower design of the 212 and knew this would be similar but on a slightly smaller scale.

As it turns out, this is a great cooler! Don't let people who want a degree or more out of their cooling deter you from this item. This thing is quiet and cool. Keeps my cpu @ 25C idle and 40C load. Its actually pretty decent and considering the price (which is super cheap)...why not!

Sure, its not a water cooling solution, nor does it have the other high end coolers specs, but hey, this thing is super cheap and gets the job done without having to remove the mobo.

5 out of 5 eggsFor the price? Fantastic! And fairly quiet!

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper TX3 - CPU Cooler with 3 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: I'm amazed that this fit in the case I used - a late 90s drab off-white absurdity. The CPU in this system is an older Core 2 Quad Q9400 - still a very usable chip, but hardly the speed demon it once was. Socket 775, and this worked *perfectly.* I'm not overclocking, I'm just replacing a NOISY aging stock cooler from a computer in my recording studio. Wow - what a difference!

Cons: I don't recall the manual suggestingI remove the fan before attaching this tot he CPU. But I could even be wrong about that - and you could even get it to work without doing so.

Other Thoughts: Take the fan off before you attach the heatsink to the CPU! You'll be thankful for the extra room.

5 out of 5 eggsMini And Cool

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper TX3 - CPU Cooler with 3 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: - its small to fit my case.... yay
- it was cheap
- it the installation looks pretty easy even for me ( I have never built a PC before)

Cons: - I don't like the sparkly thing on the fan ( Ill remove it l8r )

Other Thoughts: I'm not done building my PC but once I'm done and a few years in ill give it a better review. :3
