5 out of 5 eggsWOW! What a difference!!

Pros: I was using a Zalman "Quiet" CPU cooler. My computer consistently ran between 130 and 145 degrees Fahrenheit, and would sound the temperature alarm or shut down when I was in the middle of recording a track. Not to mention the noise! My mics pick up everything, and this thing was loud! I could hear it from the next room!
I could not believe the difference when I installed the Hyper 212 Plus. It was a bit of a pain taking the motherboard out to install the back plate for the unit, but when I finished the installation and booted up the computer, I couldn't believe my ears. It was almost DEAD silent. I mean QUIET! Even with all the fan settings on "quiet", running CPU intensive software in a warm room (I have lots of electronics in here), the CPU is between 95 and 100 degrees F, and I am one happy camper.
The price was exceptional, and I got a $10 rebate besides. They say that the Hyper 212 EVO is even better. I don't see how I could be much more satisfied.

Cons: Not the easiest installation in the world, but not the hardest either. You have to install a plate on the back of the motherboard, and if your computer does not have a cuttout there you must take the MOBO out. the bracket has springs and is a little tricky to get in place.
Absolutely no CONS performance wise.

5 out of 5 eggs4k+ ...order it already

Pros: Fits multiple sockets, quieter than stock fan, can handle my 165W CPU, CPU runs a good bit cooler - like 20 deg, idles 80F-ish max 110F, came with decent thermal paste

Cons: didn't install itself, on the large/tall side, had to remove fan on the side of case, also had to pull motherboard out -wasn't new install was rocking the stock OEM fan

Other Thoughts: AMD Phenom II x4 B55 @ 3.2ghz (unlocked dual core that can run as four core)
Biostar mobo
120mm exhaust fan
system runs much better with this fan vs OEM.
OEM fan couldn't cool it when I ran all four cores.
No shutdowns form overheating.

5 out of 5 eggsGood cooler

Pros: Keeps processor cool, Quiet, Does not cost that much compared to other coolers.

Includes provisions for 2nd fan for a push / pull setup.

Cons: 1. 2nd fan not included.
2. Large size made installing a ram cooler not possible.

Other Thoughts: Good cooler for a basic build. For the $20 this cooler cost after rebate you really cant go wrong.

4 out of 5 eggsBest bang for buck cooler on the market

Pros: This cooler is really awesome for the price. I added an extra fan I had lying around but it had no effect, still the cooling it gives is impressive for the price.

Cons: No cons at this time. Solid performer for value

Other Thoughts: Seeing as how the evo on newegg is a newer better version of the 212+ and is actually the same price, I would go with the evo. This isn't the fault of cooler master as the 212+ is usually 5$ cheaper than the evo, but more-so an oversight on behalf of newegg. Still, I bought this elsewhere for the right price so I can't complain. If you're looking for higher end air cooling get the Noctua or the Phanteks. Those things are beastly.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: Great heat dissipation for a conduction heatpipe with a large surface area fan.

Cons: troublesome setup, bulky but for a reason

Other Thoughts: good price but liquid cooling is better

2 out of 5 eggsThe devil's in the details.

Pros: Affordable and effective... Even though I can't get my full use out of it yet!

Cons: QC missed a spot back at their facility and shipped me this large tease of a HSF combo. Turns out one of the screws on the retention plate (x-shaped mounting bracket) is bent. The screw hasn't been fully tapped and is bent in two spots; just above the threads and after the spring retaining clip.

Working on getting it replaced. If they toss me a new retention plate without having me ship their faulty one first, I'll be content.

Other Thoughts: I ran Prime95 on a 4Ghz O/Cd i2500K on a ASRock Z68 Extreme 3 Gen 3 board for a second... It didn't take long to figure out something was wrong when the stock HSF supplied by Intel was cooling it better.

I would recommend looking out for this problem for new buyers, as this batch of bad screws could be out there... Somewhere.

5 out of 5 eggsCools good, allowed for great OC

Pros: -affordable
-fits many socket types
-Cools very well, I was able to OC my phenom 2 x4 B55 to 4.1 GHz with temps around 51 Celsius. Giving me a 35% increase in performance based on benchmark scores.
With this cooler, my phenom 2 is faster than a stock fx-4300.

Cons: -very large
-somewhat difficult to install

4 out of 5 eggsSolid product

Pros: Keeps cool, included fan is quiet.

Cons: Needs better instructions. YouTube the videos, there are small things that make it easier that should have been explained with product. Mine would not be pleased till I grabbed it the wrong way and it got a blood sacrifice. We're blood brothers now and my PC might evolve with human DNA attached. Sorry if I made Skynet happen.

Other Thoughts: Unit is large, but also helps move air through our case keeping everything cool. I only deduct the one egg for lack of instructions, otherwise I recommend this to people even if they are not overclocking.
