4 out of 5 eggsPretty good for an "older" model

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Direct Contact heat pipes.
Keeps my FX-8350 at 55C all cores at max load with standard thermal paste that came with product. (stock clock speeds)
15C-30C idle

Cons: A little on the noisy side, surprisingly audible along with the 5 case fans I'm using.

Other Thoughts: Didn't check the dimensions of my case clearly. Does fit just barely, fits perfectly if I rotate it.
Heat pipes aren't all together like on the EVO.

5 out of 5 eggsWait what?

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Hands down best cooler for the money. Its the original CM 212+ Quiet, fan is quieter then the EVO (which has more static pressure). I have not found a cooler that works better for under $45.

Cons: The mounting take some steady hand work. Also some cases are not wide enough.

Other Thoughts: This is the original "go to" cooler. Sure they have made some improvements with the newer models but this is adequate for over clocking a i5 or i7 to 4.4ghz and will keep it under 72c with prime

4 out of 5 eggsDecent Entry Level Cooler

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: -Cheap
-i54690k 53C under load, stock speeds for now

Cons: -Noticeable fan noise even when idle

Other Thoughts: If you just want something better than the stock cooler, this does the job, but if you want something quiet look for something else.

5 out of 5 eggsWill work with socket 1150

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Will work with socket 1150 even though it's not mentioned in the specs. Will also work with socket 775. Five bucks less than the new version.

Cons: A little taller than the new version, may not fit in certain slim format ATX cases.

3 out of 5 eggsgood product but the size is too big

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Good price and good product

Cons: The size is too big and is too heavy for the board. The weight will eventually bend the board when time passes by. That is a design issue.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great!

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Cool Temps with 8320 (Stock):
Prime95/Gaming - 50C-53C
Idle - 23-27C
Price/Performance

Cons: My 3 small heat-pipes were a bit damaged for some reason... .-.

Other Thoughts: Works great! The installation was a breeze! With the fact that its my first time and I'm only 14 that a good installation lol

3 out of 5 eggsAs big as a dag gone brick

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Quiet....

Cons: Should be shipped with two fans.... hand to buy another.

Very difficult to install.... heavy unit puts to much pressure on the board.

5 out of 5 eggsfantastic

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Wonderful. Quiet. Cool temperatures.

Cons: None, unless you count having to remove the motherboard in order to attach the backplate.

Other Thoughts: I should have thrown out the stock AMD fan on a Phenom II X4 955 Black years ago, due to noise issues (high fan RMP) under any sort of load. Now my giant Antec tower is quiet and after running 30 minutes of backup the CPU temp is 36.5 degrees Centigrade.

4 out of 5 eggsFinicky install

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: It's extremely cool- 9c drop from stock AMD FX-4100 cooler. Has strong and sturdy construction for the HSF itself. The accompanying fan moves a lot of air. The fan attachment element is removable so you can use your own fans if you want an LED one, or one that moves more air.

Cons: Over-complicated install. Really really finicky and fragile until you get all the screws in, then it's incredibly stable. I don't like the backplate being made of metal, although the part that comes in contact with the motherboard is shielded.

The HSF is really heavy so it takes a lot of force to get it stably attached. For cheaper mobos this means you might very slightly bend your board. I may have bent mine so slightly it's not noticeable, but that can still cause problems down the road.

I don't know how good the accompanying thermal paste is. I have my own Arctic but I couldn't find it so I used theirs in a pinch. The lapping on the contact for the heatpipes is bare-bones. If you have your own tools to do so, I'd highly highly recommend it.

Other Thoughts: A lot of complaints but I still give it four eggs for how much air it moves and how cool it keeps my system. It would easily be a 5 egg item with better install. I believe this is an outdated product and the EVO is the next version, which may or may not have a better installation. You might be better off spending the $5 for that one instead, but if you are dexterous and want to save those few dollars, this will easily work.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat!

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: This is the second Hyper 212 Plus that I have had and I love the performance of both. The installation method is better than most other CPU coolers of this type and size. I like the fan on the 212 Plus better than the 212 EVO.

Cons: The only real con is the height of the CPU cooler.
