5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great!

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Cool Temps with 8320 (Stock):
Prime95/Gaming - 50C-53C
Idle - 23-27C
Price/Performance

Cons: My 3 small heat-pipes were a bit damaged for some reason... .-.

Other Thoughts: Works great! The installation was a breeze! With the fact that its my first time and I'm only 14 that a good installation lol

3 out of 5 eggsAs big as a dag gone brick

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Quiet....

Cons: Should be shipped with two fans.... hand to buy another.

Very difficult to install.... heavy unit puts to much pressure on the board.

5 out of 5 eggsfantastic

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Wonderful. Quiet. Cool temperatures.

Cons: None, unless you count having to remove the motherboard in order to attach the backplate.

Other Thoughts: I should have thrown out the stock AMD fan on a Phenom II X4 955 Black years ago, due to noise issues (high fan RMP) under any sort of load. Now my giant Antec tower is quiet and after running 30 minutes of backup the CPU temp is 36.5 degrees Centigrade.

4 out of 5 eggsFinicky install

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: It's extremely cool- 9c drop from stock AMD FX-4100 cooler. Has strong and sturdy construction for the HSF itself. The accompanying fan moves a lot of air. The fan attachment element is removable so you can use your own fans if you want an LED one, or one that moves more air.

Cons: Over-complicated install. Really really finicky and fragile until you get all the screws in, then it's incredibly stable. I don't like the backplate being made of metal, although the part that comes in contact with the motherboard is shielded.

The HSF is really heavy so it takes a lot of force to get it stably attached. For cheaper mobos this means you might very slightly bend your board. I may have bent mine so slightly it's not noticeable, but that can still cause problems down the road.

I don't know how good the accompanying thermal paste is. I have my own Arctic but I couldn't find it so I used theirs in a pinch. The lapping on the contact for the heatpipes is bare-bones. If you have your own tools to do so, I'd highly highly recommend it.

Other Thoughts: A lot of complaints but I still give it four eggs for how much air it moves and how cool it keeps my system. It would easily be a 5 egg item with better install. I believe this is an outdated product and the EVO is the next version, which may or may not have a better installation. You might be better off spending the $5 for that one instead, but if you are dexterous and want to save those few dollars, this will easily work.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat!

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: This is the second Hyper 212 Plus that I have had and I love the performance of both. The installation method is better than most other CPU coolers of this type and size. I like the fan on the 212 Plus better than the 212 EVO.

Cons: The only real con is the height of the CPU cooler.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes its Job well

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: -Significantly lowered my temp on my cpu which was causing problems due to high temps. This thing cools my AMD Phenom II x6 at a nice ~35c idle and max 50c under full load.

-Not pricey.

Cons: Ugly and big, but you get what you payed for.

Other Thoughts: Thought 1: This thing is huge. I have a big full size atx case and it nearly clears a fan i have on my side panel.

Thought 2: This will be easy to install if you have installed cpu coolers before, however its worth noting that the instructions that come with this thing are very minimalist.

5 out of 5 eggsbest heatsink for price

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: the best thing about it is definitely the price and the performance is just great, it dropped my FX-6300 from 60 C with the stock heatsink at idle to about 40 C at idle and 50 with some heavy gaming with just one fan, then i added a second fan which was very easy because they include the hardware for you, and it dropped the temp down to 30 C at idle and about 45 C with very heavy gaming. i am beyond impressed with this product and reccomend it to anyone

Cons: it is very big, do not get this heatsink if you have a small case. it has the dimensions in the description so please do yourself a favor and just measure before you buy it (i believe it is 6 1/2 inches tall but double check just in case lol). my friend actually bought this product and it did not fit in his case so he sold it to me and thats how i got a hold of it

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Quiet Cooler

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Quiet, Comes with brackets to add second fan, and it comes with a quality fan.

Cons: The product was a little bigger than expected and was close to my ram slots.

Other Thoughts: Don't try to save money with Newegg's super saver shipping. It takes FOREVER to get your stuff.

5 out of 5 eggsVery, very good cooler.

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Fits, but barely-and now my CPU is ice cool! Used for FX 8320 which like all AMD had a terrible/loud stock cooling solution.

Cons: Large. Buy a second fan if you want it.

4 out of 5 eggsloud fan is easily replaced

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Works. Dropped my average core temperature by about twenty degrees from the CPU-included heatsink. Design allows for attaching a second fan if you want to get crazy. Or you could just replace the included fan with a quieter one (standard 120mm).

Cons: Pay attention to the size: it is big. Total height is 17 cm from the motherboard.

Other Thoughts: As mentioned, the included fan is loud, but super easy to replace. It's currently the loudest part of my build (but not for long).
