1 out of 5 eggsDisappointing

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Looks Cool

Cons: Ran wayyy too hot!

Ran at 70C at idle on my stock clocked i7-860. Peeked at 99C under moderate load. Tried on another i7-860 and same result. Checked my installation and thermal compound application at least 10 times with same results. Used artic silver compound, same result. Was worried I installed wrong, so checked and rechecked installation 4 separate times. Same results.

Stock cooler from an i3 worked better than this on my i7.

Will be attempting to return.

Manufacturer Response:

We are sorry to hear you are having trouble with our cooler. Would you be able to contact us so we can troubleshoot and find out the source of the problem? We wish to rectify the situation.

Respectfully,

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome product

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: I have two of these. One cooling a 2500K and the other my socket 1150 rig. You cant beat this for the price. Often listed for $20 with rebate its worth every penny. Totally impressed by the performance of this product, the simplicity of it, and the easy of installation.

Cons: Could include more of the little sticky rubber pads for future fan replacments.

Other Thoughts: The included fan is not bad but I always strap 1 or 2 AP-15's to mine.

5 out of 5 eggsBig Improvement over a stock fan

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: This is a great cooling solution for your CPU if you're on a budget or just need something better than what came with your CPU. I saw a 20°c decrease in CPU temps while playing games. And what's even better is that this is while I was overclocking my FX-8320 to 4 GHz! It never went over 52°c while OC'd.

Cons: If anything... I suppose if you've never installed an aftermarket CPU cooler, you might have a little trouble at first, but you can do it. That's really not even a con.

4 out of 5 eggsCM Hyper 121 CPU Heatsink

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Works like a charm, with things never heating up let alone overheat.

Cons: Its big! Worst of all, the heatsink is sharp on all edges so installation of any other part or the seating of power cords/screws given a chance to scratch up your hands (PC battle scars I guess)

Other Thoughts: Would buy again, just know that it takes a lot of effort to mount/use

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Bang for Buck

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Low temps
Quiet
Easy install

Cons: Touches the sidewindow of my case (wont deduct an egg as that was my miscalculation)
Could do with a higher static-pressure fan

5 out of 5 eggsWell Worth It

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Before I got this cooler, I had been using a stock cooler that came with my Phenom II. That old cooler was loud and inefficient. My system's usual operating temperature averaged about 65-67 degrees celsius, and the fan speed was usually above 5000rpm.

Upon installing the Hyper 212 Plus, however, the difference was like night and day. Average operating temperature does not rise above 40c, and the fan speed usually stays below 1500rpm. Even when I push the system (running an opengl app alongside blender during a threaded render), the temperature only rises up to 46 or 47c, and fan speed stays within 1600-1700rpm.

And during all of this, even when I'm pushing it, the fan is barely audible. All I hear is pure golden silence, and I was so pleased by the lack of noise that I began to imagine a choir singing hallelujah!

Never again will I ever use a stock CPU cooler.

Cons: Instructions were somewhat unclear, and I had to disassemble my entire computer to install the backplate onto the motherboard, but that's the only issue I had.

Other Thoughts: They say silence is golden. I don't know about that, but the silence of this fan is certainly just as precious.

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Cons: None that I can think of. Has worked as intended for over two years.

5 out of 5 eggsI can't tell if my Computer is on

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: I recently built a new rig with the AMD FX-8350 with stock fan. With moderate to heavy load (playing Far Cry or BF4) the stock fan was SO LOUD that I it would wake my Girlfriend up from sleep; IN THE NEXT ROOM. So I installed this bad boy and just like this I can't even hear the thing! not too mention my CPU runs ~10 degrees cooler.

Cons: Installation seemed daunting but after skimming through a you tube video I found installation ridiculously easy.
Also make sure you have enough room! the heat sink is pretty close to my ram

Other Thoughts: Worth every penny

5 out of 5 eggsHyper 212 Plus

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Cools fantastic for a simple fan cooled heatsink. Was able to get from 45-50c to always 30c on idle and when I play games like the new ones. NBA 2k15, FF online, and even Farcry 4 all staying at 40-41c while gaming for more then 2-3 hours.

Cons: A real pain to put on a Intel socket having to screw so much but it was very worth the time.

Other Thoughts: Cheap way to make your cpu cold without needed anything fancy cause only reason you need liquid cooling is if you game for 8+ hours without stoping and you live in a desert.
