5 out of 5 eggsGreat CPU Cooler, Kinda confusing to install

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 101i - CPU Cooler with Dual Direct Contact Heatpipes - AMD Version

Pros: Cooler works great and keeps computer at low temp

Cons: Mini Cons-

Kinda hard to get the hang of the install at first because a lot of pressure is required and there are no very well written guides online

Thermal Paste sucked but I had artic anyway so it wasn't a problem

Other Thoughts: Overall highly recommended and decently priced CPU Cooler

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic value

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 101i - CPU Cooler with Dual Direct Contact Heatpipes - AMD Version

Pros: Very capable unit, quiet fan that keeps my CPU more than adequately cool. 50c under heavy load is nothing to sneeze at for a $20 heatsink.

Cons: Poor installation guide.

Other Thoughts: Bought this to replace the faulty stock heatsink on my Vishera FX-8320. Went from 76c idle to 26c. Cannot complain. If you bought an AM3 cpu, do not use stock cooling. Use this.

4 out of 5 eggsGood product, slow delivery

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 101i - CPU Cooler with Dual Direct Contact Heatpipes - AMD Version

Pros: Good fan, works well, light, and its NOT as big as everyone makes it to be, I've seen FAR bigger, in fact it should fit in ANY standard mid size case. might just need to re seat a ram stick ot two. Keeps temps cool, good for oc'ing.

Cons: None really.

Other Thoughts: I've been ordering computer parts from newegg for years, but sadly I am going to stop. For me personally, it seems everything I order comes from CALIFORNIA when i live in Baltimore md haha.
it use to not be that way, but for some reason everything comes from there now, and everything i order, takes about 1-2 weeks to get here, which is just outrages.
it is prob just me, if you live in California, then order away lol.
this also sucks because if something comes DEAD, then can you imagine the wait? it could be over a MONTH!

Im done ordering parts online, there is a store called metro pc in my area, its a HUGE pc parts warehouse, and they have all the same stuff at same prices. sometimes better deals.

So ima just start buying my parts from them, i HIGHLY recommend this to pc builders who dont want to wait a month to get a part, for a new build. if the part is DOA, you can return it THAT day. want a new pc part? buy it and get it THAT day.

and you get hands on with the product your looking at, so no more wondering"will this fit"

Im done using newegg, it is no longer good for me(personally)

GOOD LUCK!

4 out of 5 eggsGood performance

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 101i - CPU Cooler with Dual Direct Contact Heatpipes - AMD Version

Pros: Quiet and efficient

Cons: Cheaply made, VERY tall.

The pin on the lever to close the heatsink assembly broke during installation (very flimsy).

Used a small nail to install it and works great.
Make sure you have enough clearance vertically before buying,

5 out of 5 eggsAM3+ Mobo

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 101i - CPU Cooler with Dual Direct Contact Heatpipes - AMD Version

Pros: Incredibly easy installation on AM3+
Installation time 1-2mins
Will be very easy to clean when needed
Upgrade stock AMD cooler noticing my cpu now idles at 14 celcius never goes over 50 at max load keeping my cpu 20-25% cooler than my temperatures with the stock cooler
Allows me to run a much higher OC without overheating

Cons: No Instructions for AM3+ boards

Other Thoughts: When I first opened the cooler and took a glance at the manual that comes with it, I noticed that no instructions for AM3+ are included.
I took a look at the cooler and quickly realized no instructions were needed.
AM3+ board just unscrew the stock cooler
Place bracket on CM Hyper 101i
Peel the sticker off the CM Hyper
Put some thermal paste
snaps right into place no screws, no extra work needed
you don't have to take out the mobo
has a little hatch on it that locks it into place literally takes 1-2 mins to install this cooler on AM3+ Mobo

5 out of 5 eggsWin!

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 101i - CPU Cooler with Dual Direct Contact Heatpipes - AMD Version

Pros: I put this on a build i did for someone on a budget about 4 years ago. It was cooling an Athlon x2 5200+ on the AM2 socket. Cool temps and no noise. The client was very happy, and still is to this day to the best of my knowledge.

Cons: It got here fast, but not instantly. I can't really knock an egg off for that though, can I?

Other Thoughts: The cooler master hyper series never fails to satisfy.

5 out of 5 eggsfantastic cpu cooler

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 101i - CPU Cooler with Dual Direct Contact Heatpipes - AMD Version

Pros: an absolutely wonderful piece of equipment! dropped my pc temps a ton. went from 119c high load (shutting off after 3 mins) down to 55~60c under load. big difference!

Cons: instruction manual was not for the product, difficult to install but overall easy to figure out of you put ur mind to it for a little bit.

Other Thoughts: i'd reccomend this cooler to anyone with an am3 socket that's tired of screwing around with cpu temperatures. far too long have i endured my cpu shutting off from high temps and honestly i only wish i would've purchased this thing sooner.
