2 out of 5 eggsCool Master

Pros: It was cheap. In fact, it was free after rebate when I bought it.

Cons: The fan died about 3 months into ownership and is causing my CPU to overheat.

Other Thoughts: Get what you pay for.

1 out of 5 eggsFailed within 30 days & Bad Support

Pros: Next to none. I purchased this because it was reasonably priced and would fit both my CPU and my case which it did. Those were the only good points to this fan.

Cons: Fan failed after 20 days. Began grinding and whining loudly.

Other Thoughts: There was next to no support from CoolerMaster. Their site was difficult to navigate and to actually make requests you had to call them. They say three to seven days to review replacement parts request - had to call again to get the replacement approved. Then told it takes two to seven days for the part to ship. It didn't ship and I had to call again to get it "released from the warehouse" and shipped out. The only good thing about the process was the speedy USPS Priority Mail shipping they used! Otherwise, this whole process was more hassle than it was worth.

1 out of 5 eggsCooler Master Support is HORRIBLE

Pros: Ugh!

Cons: Cooler Master Support is HORRIBLE. I contact their parts replacement for a replacement because mine had died. I have not received any response since April 30th. I submitted a ticket and also never received a response. I tried to chat with one of their online reps and no one was available for a session after 45 mins. Left a message for someone to contact and still nothing. I am very unsatisfied with their support. All forms of support was bad.

1 out of 5 eggsDidnt work for me

Pros: -Its quiet
-Its small?
-I guess it worked for other people

Cons: -Failed to keep my phenom ii x4 955 cool while playing battlefield. My PCs overheat protection shut off my PC!

1 out of 5 eggsDoes not last a year

Pros: This was a reasonably priced CPU fan for a new PC build

Cons: I purchased this in July 2012 and installed about that same time. For the past week I have been getting heat messages on my PC, different monitoring utilities confirm the CPU is running too warm, so I had to swap in a new fan.

Other Thoughts: 6 year warranty is cool and all but if it does not last a single year what is the point? Didn't last half that or even a third. Might as well be a 100 year warranty. Frustrating.

[Tommy Boy talked about guarantees but maybe warranties are the same? At least there's not money missing off the dresser.]

Manufacturer Response:

Respectfully,

CMUSA Support

5 out of 5 eggsFunctional, cheap and easy

Pros: I needed a quick replacement for a Phenom II chip as the stock cooler began making noise. the machine is not for anything other than everyday use and surfing the web light games etc so I did not need much, just something that wasn't expensive and did the job.

This fits the bill. Low noise, low cost, easy install. It keeps the temps 1-2 C above the stock AMD stock cooler which is no big deal for me. I always keep the dust cleaned out and the case has good air flow.

Cons: none, it's a low cost option so your not going to get much at this price point.

It's not much to look at, lol but if your looking at this fan looks probably aren't a concern of yours anyway ;)

Other Thoughts: Said it all for the most part. inexpensive functional solution when a stock cooler goes out and you do not need performance cooling. Don't expect to hook this up and start raising your multiplier and overclocking you will be disappointed. Not made for anything but stock settings.

Also if your looking at this you need the stock plastic heat sink fan hold down brackets that came with the motherboard to clip the fan down. If you have a big aftermarket heat sink you probably removed them and lost them when you installed it. LOL

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Low cost and works. Easy install. Works ok for no overclocking. This fan and heatsink with two other case fans are keeping the CPU idle temp at 30 to 33c

Cons: You'll have to look elsewhere if youre going to build a gaming PC or are looking to overclock your CPU.

Other Thoughts: Good stock replacement

4 out of 5 eggsCOOLER MASTER DK9-7E52A-0L-GP CPU Cooler Compatible with AMD AM3/AM2

Pros: It cools down my CPU better than my stock version.
my CPU was 60-80 now its 30-36 celcius.

Cons: It started to make some grinding noises, not sure if that is normal, it is getting annoying.

Other Thoughts: It works great but if you don't care about the noise, but i do.
