Cooler Master V6 GT - CPU Cooler with Dual 120 mm PWM Fans and 6 Heatpipes

  • 800 - 2200 RPM
  • 34.02 - 93.74 CFM
  • Copper base / Aluminum fins / 6 heatpipes
ICON Loading...

V6 GT follows in the footsteps of the revolutionary V8 and V10 CPU coolers from Cooler Master. Designed with a muscular engine look, the V6GT fits nicely with any performance hardware. The V6GT also features new mechanical structure that includes: V-shaped heatpipe array, asymmetrical aluminum fins (which are densely stacked for optimal cooling), two 120mm silent fans with PWM speed control function and DynaLoop long life technology, snap-on cover to conveniently replace fan if needed.

  • newegg Nickel-plated Copper Base & "V" Array Heatpipes The copper base is nickel plated for long-term oxidation resistance and better contact. "Double-V" heatpipe array helps spread out the six heatpipes to fully utilize the cooling fins on the cooler. It also allows airflow to reach each individual heatpipe as opposed to traditional coolers.
  • newegg Densely Stacked Fins Densely stacked fins enhance cooling performance when a second fan is added (additional fan brings higher air pressure).
  • newegg Asymmetric Heatsink Fins Asymmetrical 5 degree tilted aluminum fins are precisely engineered to lower airflow resistance while providing maximum cooling surface.
  • newegg Dual DynaLoop Bearing PWM Fans Innovated self-lubricating bearing mechanism decreases sleeve oil-loss for greatly extended fan life while evolutionary wave blade design provides tremendous airflow with steady pressure. In addition, engine oil cap controls the LED strip with color changing function to enhance cooling aesthetics.
  • newegg Quick Release Fan Cover Tool-free, snap-on cover makes installation of replacement fan simple, easy, and quick.
  • newegg Intel LGA 1155 Socket CPU Ready The V6 GT supports the second generation Intel Core processors in LGA 1155 socket (Sandy Bridge) - a perfect match to aggressive systems.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat cooling

Pros: This CPU Cooler allowed me to overclock my CPU by over 30% while keeping temperatures down to below 35C under standard usage, and 50C while stressing it.

It has lasted for quite some time now, and the performance has not dissapointed with proper maintenance, and a couple of fan replacements that were very cheap.

Cons: The fans that shipped with this fan have needed replaced multiple times.

This CPU Cooler is definitely not made for a small case, however, so keep that in mind when purchasing it. On top of being very large, the wires will need ran with a bit of room as well.

Other Thoughts: If you are not quite ready to get into liquid cooling, this is a great CPU Cooler if you have a big enough case to handle it. I would recommend getting higher quality 120mm fans to replace the original, however. This can increase the cooling performance by a large margin as well.

3 out of 5 eggsLooks great but fans fail quickly

Pros: Looks awesome! 4 different color selections! Easy access to the fans if they go bad. Keeps CPU nicely cooled for air cooling.
Comes with a 2 3 pin to 1 3 pin adapter to hookup both fans to one 3 pin input on the mainboard for boards that only have 1.

Cons: Had this heatsink/fan for about a year and the fans went out on it. They completely seized up. Easy to replace the fans though.
Also this thing is HUGE. I will have to replace it eventually, if I want to get more ram as it takes up the first ram slot on my sniper 5 mainboard.

Other Thoughts: Not bad, but fans don't last and the thing is too big. If you have the option just go with water-cooling. Defentily don't get this if you have all your ram slots filled as just about all mainboards will be hard to fit this heatsink. The led lighting is a nice though and it does do the job at keeping this nice and cool.

Manufacturer Response:

1 out of 5 eggsterrible quality product

Pros: fits the mobo as expected. worked well for a short period of time

Cons: i built my pc with this CPU cooling fan a little over 2 years ago. the first one of these I bought worked flawlessly for about 13 months and then the front fan started to not spin. i could get it going if i manually spun it a few times and it would work for awhile but then it would start slowing down and sound like it was rubbing against the plastic surrounding it. after it started doing this the fan would stop spinning completely and the PC would get too hot and automatically shut down. at this point i decided its time to replace it, so to make things simple i bought the same one again to just do a quick swap. the 2nd one lasted 4 months before it started doing almost the exact same thing as the first one, except the 2nd one i bought both fans stopped spinning completely.

Other Thoughts: this PC was the 10th+ PC I have built and this CPU fan is the only one I have ever had issues with. to have the same exact failure in 2 different pieces tells me the design, constructions, or parts used are of poor quality and a waste of money. my experience with this product will deter me from coolermaster products in the future

Manufacturer Response:

Dear valued customer,
I'm sorry for the troubles you had with your V6GT fans. Fan failures can come from all kinds of things, such as dust buildup, moving the case while the fan is spinning, or even aggressive airflow in opposing directions. While under warranty, you can always request a replacement fan from us using the Part Request form linked below. We also sell the fan on our CM Store, also linked below, for those out of warranty who just need the fan replacement.

If you need any assistance or have any questions, please come talk to us in Live Chat or put in a ticket with us through the Contact Us link provided.

Regards,
CMUSA Support

1 out of 5 eggsnot good

Pros: looks decent should be effective

Cons: Fans rattle, are noise and hardly push any air. have debated smashing it with a hammer it is so annoying. ........

Manufacturer Response:

Dear valued customer,
I'm sorry for the troubles with your V6GT's fans! You can request replacements under our warranty at the Part Request link below. They definitely shouldn't be rattling and can put out up to 93 CFM, which means a solid amount of airflow as well.

If you have any other questions or need any further support, you can Contact Us through the link below to talk to us in Live Chat or to put in a support ticket.

Kevin with Cooler Master

3 out of 5 eggsGood while it worked

Pros: Kept temperatures down significantly while under regular use, load, and extreme gaming, etc. Neat and compact nothing bulging or sticking out fairly decent in size (may be a con for some people) Not too heavy and mounting method seems solid and secure. Two fans and a nice little led lighting feature gives it a pleasing clean look. I did plenty of research before ordering / buy so i knew pretty well what I was getting for my money.

Cons: For those with little to no experience with installing their own hardware or good with their hands might find that this was difficult to install. I would say just take your time and everything should go smoothly.

Here is where I took off two eggs just because I am not satisfied with the quality of the product with such limited use. I purchased the fans April 24th so i had them actually installed around mid May. I rarely game or do any extensive processing work so the computer received limited stress in terms of heat and fan load. I came home two days ago (October 25th) to find my computer completely off and dark. Both of the 120mm fans failed would not spin at all manually and with power applied causing my computer to shut down with CPU fan error. I am really disappointing in the quality of these fans because it hasn't even been a year since i had the fans working and they both failed. I find it annoying because this failure could potentially cause other hard ward damage to processor from over heating or various other components. Waiting for cooler master to send me new fans but not very optimistic as I have read these fans are poorly designed and are prone to failure. If you are considering buying this heat sink and like the design invest in name brand fans or just get a different heat sink. I am computerless for the time being waiting for the fans to arrive. Frustrations frustrations..

4 out of 5 eggsAwesome Cooler But..

Pros: * Cools great my i7-4770k only hits about 45c on load
* Not really loud. It makes less noise then the coolers on my 2 GTX 680's
* Fits every socket type under the sun.

Cons: Minus 1 Egg for this :

HUGE PAIN IN THE REAR to install. I installed this on a ASUS Maximus Formula VI, the clearance to the memory slots was tiny it almost touched the heat spreader on my RAM. Getting the cross bar to bite on both sides when installed in a 1150 socket was almost impossible. Took me 2 hours and I have the cuts to prove it from the fins on the heat sink.

Other Thoughts: If I had to do it all over I would still get this cooler. So it gets a solid 4 eggs.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Cooler

Pros: Does a great job cooling my cpu. Temps around 25 when idling. The Led strip looks cool with my side window.

Cons: I didnt realize how large it was until i got it (I had to file down one of my side window rivets on the inside after i installed it)
Its kinda loud and im not sure if its the fans or if its the fan controller on the motherboard.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome and Huge too!

Pros: Good for Overclocking
Will dissipate a lot of heat
Keeps my new socket 1150 I7 CPU 3.5Ghz even cooler then my Core 2 Duo E8400 @ 3.00Ghz

Cons: None Unless you don't have a big enough case it barely fits in my Xigmatek Elysium case, Which is huge super tower to begin with!

Other Thoughts: I love this cooler it is my favorite one I have ever gotten. The only other thing that I noticed is the cooler does move a tiny bit on a socket 1150 Gigabyte GA Z78 X OC motherboard
