Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO CPU Cooler

Unmatched performance for the value, these are the tenants that guided Cooler Master engineers when designing the Hyper 212 EVO. Patented Continuous Direct Contact (CDC) technology ensures that the heat pipes are free of barriers while drawing heat away from the processor. A PWM fan ensures that fan speed can be intelligently controlled to ensure that it only speeds up when more cooling is necessary.

HIGHLY EFFECTIVE COOLING
4 x Direct Contact heat pipes with patented CDC (Continuous Direct Contact) technology draw heat away from the CPU quickly
USER & SYSTEM CONTROL OF FAN(S)
A wide range PWM fan can be controlled by changing its settings through supported systems or software to suit your noise and performance needs.
UNIVERSAL MOUNTING SOLUTION
Supports the latest sockets from Intel and AMD.
QUICK SNAP FAN MOUNTING
Utilize the included brackets to quickly add or remove fans for upgrades, replacement, or maintenance.

4 out of 5 eggsWould purchase again

Pros: Keeps cores cool
Easy To install
Secure
Comes with all kinds of mounting brackets

Cons: Should have 8 more rubber fans in the event you want to change out a set of fans
Audible , but not loud

Other Thoughts: Decided to get my i7 2600K running a little cooler and was not disappointed with this product. It dropped my core temperatures down ~10*C.

I would purchase again, and recommend.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat at a better price

Pros: Put a Corsair AF series fan on it in push, and its keeping temps down below 42C easy, running 3DMark and everything, temps never got above 42C, idles around 32C.

Cons: HUGE, didn't realize how massive this thing is. as it stands in my atx tower i had to remove a side fan for it to fit with the side door on. thats my only gripe about it so far.

Other Thoughts: great performance for such a low price, a must have for any new or old build, or to hold you over till you get into water cooling. Running FX-6300 at 4.3Ghz, stays nice and cool.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It seems to be cooling stuff fine. Temperatures are within working range. I don't know if it is cooling as much as others claim it cools to but it seems to be fine.

I have a pretty decent fan on it (cougar vortex), good airflow, and installed thermal paste right.

Cons: It's large and because of it can't install it facing upward like I would like.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome CPU Heatsink!

Pros: This thing keeps my i5-3570k (@ 4.4GHz) running at average of 60 degrees! I have two corsair SP120s hooked up to it with my fan controller and I never need to go over 50% power while gaming. I also like the way it looks in my case.

Cons: No cons but see other thoughts.

Other Thoughts: I suggest you lay everything out and really plan out the installation. I had to re-try twice because I tried rushing through it without double checking things. Mostly the retention screws weren't in the middle slot for all of them and I tried fixing it while it was through the heatsink. xD Cooler Master looks out though because they give you a nice supply of thermal compound in case you have to reset it. This is definitely 100% MY fault because I was rushing through it so think of me as impatient.

5/5 would buy again!

5 out of 5 eggsFan still works!

Pros: -Still an excellent cooler.
-Fan is still going strong with no issues.
-Still keeps my i5-2500k runnin cool at 4.5Ghz.

Cons: -None for the price.

Other Thoughts: Lots of people deducting eggs for their own mistakes, this cooler deserves 5stars all the way around at it's price..
This isn't the biggest air cooler out there, wouldn't surprise me if people were trying to install this on their moms HP computer. :D

4 out of 5 eggsNew Freezer

Pros: 25c idle temps in a $20 case. What more can you ask for? My computer now doubles as a freezer. Super quiet too. It clears my memory just fine, I was worried at first.

Cons: Installation was nerve racking. Screwing down the screws for the retention bracket takes a bit of courage. Felt like it was too much pressure on the CPU/motherboard. It's worth watching a video of someone installing it just to make sure you get the idea of how to install it. Instructions could have explained things in a bit more detail.

Other Thoughts: $25 after rebate for one of the best air coolers? That's a steal.

5 out of 5 eggsYou already know

Pros: - Managed to make it fit in my case/over my ram (it arrived the day after said case, which arrived the day after I assembled everything else. Bonus random points to newegg/UPS for spacing my build nicely :p)
- dropped cpu temps by ~5 degrees C @ idle
- having installed a spare thermaltake 120mm fan I had laying around for push/pull, dropped the temp in the rest of my case by ~15 degrees C @ idle

Cons: If you are not using a full tower (or bigger/randomly designed with *******huge cpu coolers in mind), DO NOT buy this. Also, If you are unwilling to verify that your PWNerrific ram will fit, please don't cry that it doesn't.
... Because it won't. And don't even bother trying to put shorter ram in after you install this.
Unless you want to take it back out, of course.

Other Thoughts: Wise man once say: Do your research before you build, odds are better of you not buying things that don't fit together.

My Build:

AMD FX-8350 Vishera 4.0GHz (4.2GHz Turbo)
ASUS SABERTOOTH 990FX/GEN3 R2.0
2 x EVGA GeForce GTX 670 FTW+ 4GB
G.SKILL Sniper Series 32GB DDR3 1866
PC Power & Cooling Silencer Mk III Series 1200W Modular Power Supply
COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 EVO
Rosewill THOR V2-White Edition
Windows 7 Ultimate x64
Fedora/Ubuntu Live Sessions when I feel like it ;)
2 x ASUS VE247H 23.6" LED

Future adds:
SSD
Maybe watercooling if/when I get bored and decide to OC

5 out of 5 eggsExactly What I Needed

Pros: Lowered temperatures on my Core i5-3570k by about 5C at idle and 20C under Prime95. As a bonus, it's also quieter than Intel's stock fan when under load.

Cons: This thing is a pain to install. Took me almost a half hour.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: -Keeps Cpu perfectly cool
-Cpu never overheats
-Great Value
-Quiet

Cons: -It is big so make sure there is room in your case

Other Thoughts: This probably wont keep an i7 3770k or higher end cpu's cool especially when overclocking, but for an i3 or an i5 it is perfect

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Inexpensive, works ok, quiet, had a big rebate

Cons: Very tall - barely fit in case, attachment method works, but needlessly complicated compared to the old lever-latch method, instructions for AMD install poor.

Other Thoughts: Wife's cooler died - figured to give her my old Arctic Pro64 - 92mm and get a new one. My AMD Phenom II X6 with 10% overclock now idles at 27C instead of 28C - 100% load dropped from 41C to 40C - hardly worth it, but the 120mm fan is slightly quieter. This fan wouldn't have fit in her case anyway.
