Cooler Master's RR-920-N520-GP "Hyper N520" combines a stylish, elegant design with silent operation and a brilliant cooling solution. Designed to cool the full range of current Intel Socket LGA 1366, 775 and AMD Socket (AM3/AM2+/AM2) processors, it does so with gusto. It features a unique split fin design that puts more surface area within the space cooled by over 43 CFM of airflow from the dual 92mm fans.

A selection of mounting components allow the user to obtain the optimal installation of the cooler to the motherboard so that the cooler's copper base is snug against the CPU's heat spreader. Five 6mm U-shaped copper heat pipes draw heat away from the processor up to the array of aluminum convection fins which they support. The heat is dispersed at a silent 19 dBA by the fan which spins on long-lasting sleeved bearings.

  • newegg Superior Heat Dissipation and Cooling Performance The copper base and 4 copper heatpipes conduct heat fast; high-density aluminum fins maximize heat dissipation area, plus dual 92mm, 1800RPM sleeve bearing fan to deliver optimal cooling performance.
  • newegg Universal Socket Compatibility The Cooler Master RR-920-N520-GP features broad compatibility with AMD socket 754, 939, 940, and AM2 platforms, as well as the Intel LGA 775 and 1366 platform.

5 out of 5 eggsThis thing is huge!

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: This thing is massive!
It dropped my CPU temperature 24 C compared to Intel's stock cooler when running Prime 95
It's quieter than the stock cooler
It's the best value for the performance you get

Cons: Installation is slightly more time consuming than a traditional fan.
It moves slightly after being installed. I like my coolers to be solid, however, it doesn't appear to effect cooling.

Other Thoughts: Did I mention it's massive?

5 out of 5 eggsKeeps Her Cool

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: I'm not running any crazy overclocks or anything, but this large chunk of a heat sink does an amazing job of cooling my AMD 8350 without a hiccup. I am using two white Fractal Design Silent Series 120 fans just because these fans are super quiet and the white fans match the theme of my case.

Cons: The stock fan started to develop an annoying whine after a couple of months. It was also a bit loud for my tastes. I replaced it anyways.

Other Thoughts: Easily fits in my Fractal Define R4 Case with plenty of room to spare. If you are using all four mem slots, a dual fan setup may block one of the ram slots though depending on the configuration of your M/B.

3 out of 5 eggsDecent

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: -Looks intimidating
-Cools fairly well
-Fairly straight-forward design

Cons: -Doesn't cool any better than my stock AMD heatsink, whether mine is faulty or not I do not know.
-Instruction page is horrific
-Installation required a lot of jiggling and revising.

5 out of 5 eggsFan-Tastic

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: Absolutely amazing product. Took my idle CPU temp with the not so fantastic Intel stock fan from 53C to 25C. My CPU was running up to 90C with a medium load now it doesn't go past 52C on a high load. Great product. I highly recommend it.

Cons: Are there any?

Other Thoughts: If you can spare 35 dollars and you need a new CPU fan there's zero reason you shouldn't have the 212 Evo.

5 out of 5 eggsHyper 212

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: Built a new gaming box with 4670k on an AsRock Extreme 6 in a Corsair 200r. I used Arctic Silver instead of the paste that came with. So far I am pleased. My room temps run 68 to 70f (about 20C). Currently running stock cpu clock. Cpu temps are idle at 25 to 28 and is up to 38C max under gaming load. Clearly room for overclocking.

Cons: Those that are picky about fans will probably want upgrade. Im using the stock fan and it works just fine for my needs.

4 out of 5 eggsVery Reliable!!! But major flaw!

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: Keeps my 3770k very cool, has worked very reliably and is quiet with a new fan.

Cons: The fan that came with it started clicking after a mere week :( I bought a new cheap fan and the thing is very quiet!!! You can get MUCH better temps by using dual fans that are faster, but it does the job quietly and cheaply!

5 out of 5 eggsSatisfied my crazy Italian Grandmother

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: -Great Price (especially with rebate)
-Way more quiet than stock fan
-Noticed a 10°C cooler temp on CPU with Arctic Silver paste vs. stock fan/stock paste

Cons: -Bulky. Will not fit in a mini tower case, and it's a tight fit in a min tower.
-Installation is difficult without experience. The bracket is awkward to work with, and you will more likely than not have to remove the motherboard from the case to install it.

Other Thoughts: My grandmother's stock AMD FX6300 fan began making a strange noise due to the fan being off balance. Now, most old people loose their hearing and wouldn't notice it, but my old lady was furious about it. After discussing with her the benefits of both air and liquid cooling, we elected to get this fan.

If Cooler Master did not include a good manual, the install would have been hours. Quite a few mid-tower cases only have one side panel or a second side panel with almost no access to the motherboard's back side under the CPU. Unfortunately, this means having to disassemble the computer and remove the motherboard to install the heatsink. The fan itself can be moved to either side of the heatsink, so if an annoying 5.25" bay gets in the way, it can be unclipped and moved to the other side.

This unit has withstood the trials of an old Italian and countless cigarettes in the 9 months it has been alive. It's definitely one of the best air cooling solutions for the money.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: -My i7 Processor runs 20 degrees Celsius Cooler. No it doesn't even hit over 60C.

Cons: It took me a while to figure out there is a piece that you mount on the back of your motherboard for screws, but after that it was easy.

With maxing out CPU to 100% and overclocking and hyper threading it so its an 8 core it can be a bit noisy, but really who's going to do that beside me....

Other Thoughts: This CPU Fan is VERY BIG. Make sure you have enough space inside your computer.

With maxing out CPU to 100% and over-clocking and hyper threading it so its an 8 core it can be a bit noisy, but really who's going to do that beside me....

5 out of 5 eggsLike a charm

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: Easily installed onto my AMD fx-8320 and was able to get a steady overclock from 3.5 to 4.2 with ease. keeps my CPU nice and cool an not much power use and quite!

Cons: For the price.. NOTHING!

Other Thoughts: If you plan on over clocking you processor, I recommend adding a static pressure from to push air through in push/pull form. I even replaced the stock fan that came with it but it will also get the job done alone, I just wanted coolertTemps
