5 out of 5 eggsbetter than a single water radiator

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: added a 2nd 2000 rpm fan wend i upgraded to amd 8350 and to my surprise it work very well wend it come to over-clocking the 8 core , got it up to 4.8 under 50c, any higher the temp would raise very fast. works much better than my friends single radiator

Cons: reality check came quickly wend it came time to close the case, the 2000 rpm fan was to noise, had to install fan on MB header and drop rpm down to 1400, still under 50c at 4.6ghz, .
its huge with 2 fans on it
me friend upgraded the fans on the radiator

2 out of 5 eggs"Huge" is the only reason it doesn't get 1 egg

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: The cooler worked well enough that when the fan that came with it failed (sleeved bearing... really?) the additional fan (a MUCH older fan that I had added to the other side as a "push") I had NO increase in temps.

Cons: The fan failed after less than a year. This would be totally unacceptable for a cpu fan and probably deserving of a 1 egg rating... But, the sink itself is just plain huge and therefore works "acceptably".

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

We apologize for the trouble that you are experiencing with the Hyper 212 EVO. The Hyper 212 EVO comes with a 2 year warranty so please contact us for a replacement fan.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat cpu cooler.

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: Cheap
Keeps things very cool

Cons: Hard to install
Really tall

Other Thoughts: This cooler is awesome I've used it in 2 builds and they work great. There are only 2 complaints I really have with the Evo and that's I wish It was just easier to install, Its really difficult to install the backplate with only 2 hands you need like ten :). The only other problem I have with it is it's so tall, make sure your case is wide enough before buying it or else you'll have to REALLY squeeze it in tight or use a different cooler all together. Otherwise, great cooler.

5 out of 5 eggsHyper 212 EVO!

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: easy Install - good quality - beats the pants off my old TX3 (with 2x92mm fans) - silent - provides headroom to overclock - low price

Cons: big... do your math or you'll be sorry. Fans may extend a bit over the memory slots.(depending on your motherboard and setup). Some companies provide large heat spreaders for the memory. Also make note of the dimensions and make sure it fits your case. (do not cut the tips of the heat pipes) They need to be sealed to cool properly.

Other Thoughts: There is a reason there are a ton of people getting this cooler. It's the absolute best in its price range. Under prime 95 my temps do not go above 65c with a FX 8 core at 4.5 ghz while using this cooler.
If you do not go with water cooling, you must consider this cooler.

5 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: Installed on a 2011-v3 processor (i7-5930K). Impressive how much "stuff" there is for the money. Installation was clean, did not require any custom work.

Cons: Yes, I'm nitpicking. Picture-based instructions were a bit confusing, but eventually figured it out. No information provided for the direction of airflow so I had to wait until it was installed. Of course, I had it backwards.

Other Thoughts: I haven't done any overclocking, so I can't tell you if it works well for that.

5 out of 5 eggsA Cool Breeze

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: My I5 processor idles under 30c and max loads at 40 during heavy gaming in a warm room. The fan noise level is very reasonable and less noisy than my old intel stock fan on a lesser processor. The included instructions are terrible. YouTube has a video for installation. It made it absurdly easy once some words and better images were provided.

Cons: It didnt make me dinner.

Other Thoughts: Buy it if you have a big case.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing cooler for the price

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: This cooler is great, and the low price makes it even better. With an i5-4690k (no OC yet) and moderate usage, the idle temperature rests consistently below 30°C, and does not reach very high temperatures during even heavy gaming loads (still running tests to get averages on certain games). The universal mount was easy to attach, and the thermal paste included with it works great.

Cons: The only possible con is the very large heatsink size of this cooler. With proper planning, of course, this is not an issue at all. With many mid-tower cases, this cooler should fit fine. The large heatsink actually adds a nice look to the rig if you have a viewing window.

Other Thoughts: If you are going to build a computer, spend the extra $30 on this cooler. If you want to OC in the future, there will be more than enough room to do so.

5 out of 5 eggsFirst Build - Good Cooling

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: It's quiet, can't hear it among the other fans in the case, runs cool.
Could add and even replace fans.

Cons: Kind of tall, the heat pipes touch the inside of my case, not really a problem.
Also, my expectation of its cooling was a bit higher, I get between 40-50 *C under normal load, according to NZXT's CAM, but doesn't seem to leave that range under heavy load. Again, nothing to worry about.

Other Thoughts: I shouldn't complain about at all. I bought to keep my CPU cool, and does a perfect job at it.
Here's my build:
-Gigabyte GA-F2A88X-D3H Motherboard
-AMD A10-7850k APU
-Single HyperX Savage 8GB DDR3 2400 RAM
-Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO cooler
-NZXT Source 220 case, black
-used Cooler Master 600W power supply
-used hard drives

4 out of 5 eggsLarge, but effective.

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: Keeps the CPU very cool, even during the most intensive programs (running high graphics games and Visual Studio 2013). Instructions are easy to understand and installation, like most heat sinks of this type, are time consuming, but the quality is good.

I would recommend this.

Cons: Fans and sink are fairly large, make sure your motherboard has enough room and that it wont impede the RAM or other peripherals.

Getting the screws and nuts out of the packaging can be difficult. Make sure to remove them before you need them. I spent several minutes fighting to get the nuts out the first machine I built with this cooler.

Check google for some instructions if you are new to adding this type of heat sink. Making mistakes can be very time consuming.

Other Thoughts: Check the hardware when you take it out of box. One of the nuts supplied was far too small and I had to make a trip to the hardware store to get a replacement.
