4 out of 5 eggsPretty Good Cooler

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: Decent Idle temps, firm installation.

Cons: It's a big, heavy piece. May require help with installation as it requires a substantial amount of force to hold down on the clamps.

Other Thoughts: Bought this for a i7 4770k about 3 months ago. Keeps core temps at around 35C idle, 37C under light load, and around 60C under heavy gaming load. I primarily use this device for gaming and programming.

5 out of 5 eggsCools my i7 4790k

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: 1. Quiet
2. Actually cools my i7 4790k! With the stock Intel cooler my cpu would get to 100 C with out any overclocking and only at like 80% load. With this cooler my CPU never gets above 70 at 100% load.
3. Cheap compared to other coolers and gets just about the same results.
4. I know idle temps really don't say that much but after installing the cooler my idle temp dropped 5-10 C.
5. I have not overclocked yet but i am guessing with the temps not going above 70 under full load I should be able to overclock.

6. Overall I am very happy. This cooler works very well for being only 35$ and almost does as well as some 100$ coolers.

Cons: A very tall cooler. The instructions that come with the cooler aren't the best how ever there is plenty of videos on how to.

5 out of 5 eggsWoW!!! what a difference!

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: this has been a night and day difference in system and operation! if you are running high demand graphics and are space limited GET THIS FAN!

Cons: nada!

Other Thoughts: had to build a new system due to odd restarts and glitches
this rebuild we have been lacking were it not for the Cooler Master systems that I added to the build. VERY HAPPY CAMPER

1 out of 5 eggsNot bad cooler

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: Wouldn't know

Cons: Bout this because i was doing a new build and didn't want to go with an all in one water cooler for this build, so i went with the next best thing EVO 212. But enough about that what this review is about is Neweggs rip off RMA process this is a $35 part and came to me with broken screws and used thermal paste on it. Went to RMA it and they want me to pay over $15 bucks to send it back to them and them send me a new one..(like i had ordered in the beginning). So just a warning to those working on a budget yes Newegg is a great place to get the parts your going to need at a great price but hope it doesn't come broken or your going to lose even more of your build budget.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty nice cooler

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: Runs nearly silent, and seems to do a good job keeping my I5 4690k cooled @4.4 (stock voltage)

Mounting it was quick and easy

Cons: It's massive.

The pictorial instructions are better suited to wiping up small spills than actually instructing

Other Thoughts: Beware of ram with cooling fins, as they are quite likely to not fit under this cooler. It's massive, and you may have to mill out some slots on the fan

4 out of 5 eggsUpgrade from Cosair H50 in my current situation

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: Comes with a bracket to screw in a optional fan on the other side of heatsink. The metal plates feel real solid. Easy to screw in installation with no annoying strap with lever.

Cons: hmm..

Other Thoughts: It did fit with my 2 tall memory sticks, not sure if it would clear 4 sticks of tall sized memory sticks. I am going from H50 water cooling to this just for the sake of better airflow within the case I have atm. The H50 kept the cpu very cool but it didnt help chips on motherboard when u dont have side pannel fans and a H50 occupying the NB fan.

5 out of 5 eggsAMAZING IMPROVEMENT OVER STOCK

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: ** Install is somewhat easy. Just take your time and be patient.
** Also note this is setup with a 2nd 120mm red led cooler master fan. In a push/pull config with another rear 120mm case fan in a pull right next to cpu cooler.

** Before CPU Cooler under the stock
- Idle 26c
- Gaming 1 hr 52c
- DVDFab 70c
The dvdfab temp is what pushed me to look into an after market cooler as I am trying to back up all my season sets to my plex server and it takes about 15 mins a disc * by the ton I have and I believe AMD Recommends saying under 61 for my model processor hitting 70c steadily for long periods.

(Will update as time passes)
Day 1
idle 17c 34% drop
gaming tbd although benchmarking/prime 95 got it to 40c
dvdfab the read test 46c 34% drop.

I used Arctic Silver as the thermal compound as I didnt mess with the included one provided.

Cons: The cooler will not fit with a top 120 mm installed in the side panel of my case as the website for cooler master said it would. Also to get the coolers to clear the ram and to make it easier to upgrade the ram without removing the entire cooler. I installed the heat sink up and down. Long side parallel to the Ram. However the fan would not sit over the ram with the heat sinks that are on the ram. Quick fix is to install the fan about a 1/4" off set instead of flush with the heat sink. Allowing clearance if you have gaming grade ram.

Other Thoughts: Setup
GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3 AM3+ AMD 990FX + SB950
AMD FX-8350
16gb RipJaw DDR-1600
3GB Sapphire R9 280 OC Ed
850 Watt Thermal Take
Cooler Master CM Storm Scout

5 out of 5 eggsEVO 212 AWESOME!!!!

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: It is very effective for a air cooler, not too loud, great price.

Cons: wish i would have bought it sooner.

Other Thoughts: This CPU cooler dropped my CPU temp from 64 degrees Celcius to 32 degrees Celcius. No other additions could have made such an impact. Running it on a FX 8150 Eight core AMD. That is compared to stock cooler.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat cooling, Big, Fan is cheap

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: Great system right out of the box, everything is there instructions were clear and easy to understand. Its huge size allows for quite a bit of overclocking, assuming you have a large mid tower or a full tower case.

Cons: The fan that came with it has died after 13 months.... I was expecting more out of such a large name brand. But oh well fans are cheap and plentiful.

Other Thoughts: I put a second fan on the front side so it would be a push and pull set up, maybe that's what killed the stock fan. It was on the pull side and I think the push was a faster fan, in any case it is dead and I am out of warranty. All the other reviews say "Oh this is so big" or " wouldn't fit too big".... DUH you should have taken a tape measure out and measured the 9ish inches that this thing takes up to make sure it fits in your case.

Great product
Looks cool
Stock fan is loud
Just buy two matching fans when you purchase this and save the stock fan for later.
