4 out of 5 eggsGreat Cooler

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: Keeps CPU nice and cool (i5-4690K)

Cons: MID TOWER CASE LIMITATIONS:
ensure your have enough clearance for the mounting bracket to clear the inside panel of your case. luckily mine did, but just barely. it's obvious to measure for the height of the cooler, but i was shocked at the distance the mounting bracket sat off the mobo, approx 3/4 inch.

Other Thoughts: Antec 900 Mid Tower case has barely enough room for the mounting bracket. enough clearance for the heatsink and fan off the mobo only if there is no bulky side case fan installed. go with a slim side case fan if using this tower.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes its job flawlessly

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: my core i5 cpu @ full load was reaching damaging temps on Intel stock fan. I'm talking from 70c-90c. with this bad boy installed I have never seen over 50c, even under full load and heavy long gaming sessions. If I paid 50$ for this I would still be completely satisfied.

Cons: NONE

5 out of 5 eggsHyper 212 Evo

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: Works to good for the price. Have not overclocked my a10 7850k with it, but am sure it can handle it.

Cons: Had to move my side panel fan in my Rosewill Computer Case - Mid Tower for it to fit. Well worth it!

4 out of 5 eggsAftermarket Option

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: It works better than stock cooler.
It can accommodate more than one fan- if you have the room.

Cons: I found it very hard to install on my MSI/AMD without bending the fins. The screws have to be 'just barely' sunk before tightening or else there is not enough give to sink all four sides.
Parts are fragile.
I reinstalled it a few times to make sure my thermal paste wasn't a problem, and I didn't see a large difference in temperature reduction. It's still better than stock, but I took an egg off since it's only a five degree difference in addition to the problems I had.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Heatsink

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: Very well made. I love the fact that you can put whatever 120mm fan on it that you want, or even double it up. And you can remove the fans really easily for easy cleaning.

It is currently sitting on my Intel Core i7 4790K and I have yet to see temperatures go above 65 C maximum, even under 100% load for several hours of 3D model rendering and the CPU running at 4.4 GHz.

Cons: Instructions were a little confusing, but after looking at them for a little bit and comparing the drawings to the parts, it was pretty easy to figure out.

Other Thoughts: It's quite large, so make sure your case has the room to contain it. My case had about 6 inches of clearance, and it was a close fit.

Be sure to couple it with some Arctic Silver Thermal paste!

5 out of 5 eggsCooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: Took my idle CPU temp from 70C down to 30C on this AMD Phenom 8750 !!

Got this on sale for $34.99 ... I would consider this a $40 - $50 Cooler

Cons: As others Stated it is Huge and Very Tall. My case is setting with the Side Panel off right now and I may very well have to break out the Dremel tool for a Mod to get it back on. My bad for not taking the recommendations of others to do the proper measurements on my case prior.

Also, the Back plate install for AM2 is very tricky to accomplish if you are doing it by yourself. I managed, but it was frustrating to say the least.

5 out of 5 eggsHyper 212 EVO

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: Amazing cooling for the price! On every system I've built, i always go with the 212. You really cant get much better cooling for this price.
I completely recommend this Cooler to anyone wanting to keep their CPU nice and Cool.
My CPU Idles at 38 degrees C. At load its around 50.
My CPU is an AMD 8350 Black edition.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This cooler is pretty tall and Wide... Just ensure you have enough space in your case!
You may want to stick with low profile memory modules! this heatsink is pretty massive and if mounted in a horizontal manner... overhangs your ram slots. My gskill sniper memory fits just fine underneath the EVO
