Cooler Master's RR-920-N520-GP "Hyper N520" combines a stylish, elegant design with silent operation and a brilliant cooling solution. Designed to cool the full range of current Intel Socket LGA 1366, 775 and AMD Socket (AM3/AM2+/AM2) processors, it does so with gusto. It features a unique split fin design that puts more surface area within the space cooled by over 43 CFM of airflow from the dual 92mm fans.

A selection of mounting components allow the user to obtain the optimal installation of the cooler to the motherboard so that the cooler's copper base is snug against the CPU's heat spreader. Five 6mm U-shaped copper heat pipes draw heat away from the processor up to the array of aluminum convection fins which they support. The heat is dispersed at a silent 19 dBA by the fan which spins on long-lasting sleeved bearings.

  • newegg Superior Heat Dissipation and Cooling Performance The copper base and 4 copper heatpipes conduct heat fast; high-density aluminum fins maximize heat dissipation area, plus dual 92mm, 1800RPM sleeve bearing fan to deliver optimal cooling performance.
  • newegg Universal Socket Compatibility The Cooler Master RR-920-N520-GP features broad compatibility with AMD socket 754, 939, 940, and AM2 platforms, as well as the Intel LGA 775 and 1366 platform.

Cooler Master’s Hyper TX series has evolved with requirements of mainstream CPUs. The introduction of Hyper TX3 marks another milestone with Cooler Master's first-ever full compatibility - Intel LGA 1156 socket. The Hyper TX3 also brings back the "original" direct contact heat-pipe design from Cooler Master.

  • newegg Superior Heat Dissipation The Cooler Master Hyper TX3 features "heatpipe direct contact" technology for efficient heat conduction, plus high-density aluminum fins for maximum heat dissipation. The 92mm fan runs efficiently to deliver unparalleled cooling performance.
  • newegg Expandable for a Second Fan Add a 2nd cooling fan (optional) to the Cooler Master Hyper TX3 to achieve the best possible cooling performance!
  • newegg PWM Function The PWM function automatically adjusts fan speeds according to the CPU temperature for efficient cooling and minimized fan noise.
  • newegg Universal Socket Compatibility The Cooler Master Hyper TX3 features broad compatibility with AMD socket 754, 939, 940, and AM2 platforms, as well as Intel LGA 775 and 1156 platforms.

Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO CPU Cooler

Unmatched performance for the value, these are the tenants that guided Cooler Master engineers when designing the Hyper 212 EVO. Patented Continuous Direct Contact (CDC) technology ensures that the heat pipes are free of barriers while drawing heat away from the processor. A PWM fan ensures that fan speed can be intelligently controlled to ensure that it only speeds up when more cooling is necessary.

4 out of 5 eggsAlmost unlucky

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: Huge impressive Heatsink...
My 6Core FX 6300 goes to 50 celcius in full load.. all 6 cores for 2 hours at 87 Fahrenheit ambient...

Cons: I was installing it alright when all of the sudden one of nuts fastener didn't want to twist at all..
Then I came to check threaded hole wasn't finished it was flat..
It came like this from the pack.. so I had 2 settled nuts but I needed the 4th or else the headsink wouldn't settled correctly..

Other Thoughts: Thank gd I found one laying around into my screws and tools.. Else would have of RMA or look for it somewhere else..

4 out of 5 eggsDid the job ! :)

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: ok first off... this cooled down my computer Dramatic!! WOW i was shock .. also not as difficult to install like most people say .. instruction were pretty straight forward ..

Cons: well since this cooler is a bit bigger than what i expected, i wasn't able to install my side case fan but i dont mind since i have a lot of intake from the front (antec 1200 v1)

Other Thoughts: be careful not to mix up the amd pieces with the intels.. and also take your time when your starting to screw in the heat sinker to the motherboard.. the thermal paste could get everywhere when moving the cooler a lot

5 out of 5 eggsWorth every penny

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: First of all, this thing does the job. With some Silver compound I had from a previous heatsink/fan install a few computers ago, I put this badboy on my 4690 and it is running in the low 30s, and even under load barely cracking 40. This thing flat does the job.

Cons: The bad part of installing this is installing it. It's like the instructions were written in pictograph hieroglyphics instead of instructions. I would suggest calling up a youtube how to video to watch someone do it before you do it yourself. It will save you serious time and frustration if you've never installed a current gen heatsink/fan.

Other Thoughts: The fan is HUGE and will most likely protrude into the space where there should be RAM sticks. Mine fits BARELY and actually brushes my ram on my ASRock z97 Fatality board. The temps are all low, so I'm not worried about it, but if your case is not well ventilated, YMMV.

5 out of 5 eggsWow.

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: Dropped this on a fx6300, stock, no OC yet. Idle running 10F cooler than room temputure. Can only imaging the OCs possible from this. Would venture to guess that only WC can beat this out in performance. Cooler Master lives up to their namesake.

Cons: Mounting bracket is a little funky, took a bit to get it just right. Not bad enough to warrant an egg loss.

Other Thoughts: Unless you are water cooling, get this. The price to performance is through the roof.

5 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: High TDP (180W), quiet (36db max but It barely needs to spin up unless i'm gaming in which case the sounds easily covers it), cool (34 idle, <50 loaded) and cheap ($25 with rebate). What else are you looking for in a CPU cooler

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: there was a slight issue with my case (cougar solutions) where the backplate didn't quite fit into the hole the case provided. I ended up bending the metal tabs used for another CPU setup about 10 degrees so they wouldn't hit the case and everything worked out

2 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: Heat sink is nice and bulky. Has support for two cpu fans.

Cons: The fan that came with mine was clicking so now I'm going to have to RMA the whole thing (not doing that) or buy a new fan. I checked the path of the fan, there's nothing in the way; it has to be the motor.

Manufacturer Response:

1 out of 5 eggsObnoxious Noise

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: It's a fan. So far my computer hasn't burned up, so I assume it's doing the one thing it's supposed to do.

Cons: Annoying clicking. I'm about to chuck my whole darn computer out the window because the noise of this ^#&%&#^ fan is literally driving me crazy.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello Brian W,

We apologize for the trouble that you are experiencing with the Hyper 212 EVO. Please contact us so that we can replace the defective fan for you.
