Cooler Master's RR-920-N520-GP "Hyper N520" combines a stylish, elegant design with silent operation and a brilliant cooling solution. Designed to cool the full range of current Intel Socket LGA 1366, 775 and AMD Socket (AM3/AM2+/AM2) processors, it does so with gusto. It features a unique split fin design that puts more surface area within the space cooled by over 43 CFM of airflow from the dual 92mm fans.

A selection of mounting components allow the user to obtain the optimal installation of the cooler to the motherboard so that the cooler's copper base is snug against the CPU's heat spreader. Five 6mm U-shaped copper heat pipes draw heat away from the processor up to the array of aluminum convection fins which they support. The heat is dispersed at a silent 19 dBA by the fan which spins on long-lasting sleeved bearings.

  • newegg Superior Heat Dissipation and Cooling Performance The copper base and 4 copper heatpipes conduct heat fast; high-density aluminum fins maximize heat dissipation area, plus dual 92mm, 1800RPM sleeve bearing fan to deliver optimal cooling performance.
  • newegg Universal Socket Compatibility The Cooler Master RR-920-N520-GP features broad compatibility with AMD socket 754, 939, 940, and AM2 platforms, as well as the Intel LGA 775 and 1366 platform.

Cooler Master’s Hyper TX series has evolved with requirements of mainstream CPUs. The introduction of Hyper TX3 marks another milestone with Cooler Master's first-ever full compatibility - Intel LGA 1156 socket. The Hyper TX3 also brings back the "original" direct contact heat-pipe design from Cooler Master.

  • newegg Superior Heat Dissipation The Cooler Master Hyper TX3 features "heatpipe direct contact" technology for efficient heat conduction, plus high-density aluminum fins for maximum heat dissipation. The 92mm fan runs efficiently to deliver unparalleled cooling performance.
  • newegg Expandable for a Second Fan Add a 2nd cooling fan (optional) to the Cooler Master Hyper TX3 to achieve the best possible cooling performance!
  • newegg PWM Function The PWM function automatically adjusts fan speeds according to the CPU temperature for efficient cooling and minimized fan noise.
  • newegg Universal Socket Compatibility The Cooler Master Hyper TX3 features broad compatibility with AMD socket 754, 939, 940, and AM2 platforms, as well as Intel LGA 775 and 1156 platforms.

Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO CPU Cooler

Unmatched performance for the value, these are the tenants that guided Cooler Master engineers when designing the Hyper 212 EVO. Patented Continuous Direct Contact (CDC) technology ensures that the heat pipes are free of barriers while drawing heat away from the processor. A PWM fan ensures that fan speed can be intelligently controlled to ensure that it only speeds up when more cooling is necessary.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Performance Per Dollar

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: Included fan keeps just about any stock CPU chilly with virtually no sound.
Wide range of fan speeds 600RPM - 2000RPM for silence when you're not taxing your CPU, & Extreme performance under heavily CPU intensive tasks.
Comes with extra pair of 120mm fan mount brackets to add a second fan for even better cooling power.
Lightweight even with 2 140mm fans attached

Cons: There can be RAM clearance issues with tall RAM heat sinks if RAM slots are to close to CPU.

Other Thoughts: Hands down, the best performance per dollar CPU cooler I've ever seen. Would love to see an all-copper version for even better cooling efficiency.

Running 2 AeroCool Shark black edition 120mm fans on an i7-3930k overclocked to 4.4GHz with the fans running at around 65% speed, I was getting lower temps encoding Blu-Ray video than I was getting out of my H100 water cooler.

Can be rotated 90 degrees on all Intel motherboards, and the fan(s) can be moved upwards on the tower about 10-11mm to help with RAM clearance issues.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Cooler

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: Easy to install and keeps my AMD FX 8320 very cool. Does come with thermal paste which also works fairly well. This is a rather large cooler so make sure your case has the room for it.

Cons: really don's have any cons to list. Would again insure that you have the room in your case to fit this cooler although i wouldn't call this a con.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Better than expected.

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: When under stress, keeps processor 25 - 30 C cooler. Worth it completely. Quiet and I don't even notice its in my PC. Value is there and worth the buy.

Cons: Installing some aftermarket fans are a pain. This one wasn't too bad but pain non the less. also its sharp! Beware!

Other Thoughts: So far so good, this should increase the life of my processor so lets game!

5 out of 5 eggsQuiet

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: It installs fairly simply. My CPU now runs a lot cooler and quieter than before. The cooler itself doesn't look half bad, either.

Cons: It was a little difficult to install in my Elite 430, but all I had to do was loosen a few of the motherboard screws, and the backplate would fit enough to install, and then I re-tightened the motherboard screws. Not the biggest deal, because I know some people don't even have backplate access. This was more of a problem with my case setup than with the product itself.

I also had to go online to find an instructional video, as the instructions from Cooler Master always seem to be a little lacking.

Other Thoughts: I just completed my first PC build after moving on from the hot and slow world of laptops. I'm running an FX 8350, and I had (for some reason) decided to run it using the stock cooler. As you can imagine, the noise got old after about a week.

I searched for a cheap solution, and this came up as the result. I know it's not the quietest or coolest CPU cooler in the world, but coming from a stock cooler that has a tiny 70mm fan, this cooler is much quieter, even when I'm running the processor at full tilt using Prime95.

I haven't tried overclocking yet, but my temps with Prime95 are below 45C (usually around 42 after 5 minutes).

I would highly recommend this cooler for anyone that would like to get into aftermarket cooling, and even into overclocking a little. Well worth the small amount that I paid for it.

4 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: +Cools CPU much better than stock fan.
+Average price lower than competitors that keeps CPU around the same temperature according to benchmark test.
+It was easier to install since you can fasten the rear bracket first.
+Fan is much quieter than others at 1500 RPM but loud at max speed. Still comparably more quiet than other fans at 2000 RPM

Cons: -Like other reviews mentioned, the top bracket is design weird. One pin/screw keeps the bracket on the heat sink and you can not fasten it on. It depends on the screws on the bracket and a spring system that keeps the heat sink in place.
-The Cooler is loose and can move around if slight force is placed on it. Most likely the result of the design flaw mentioned above. Not a big problem but can be a bit unnerving.
-Hard to align the top brackets into place.

Other Thoughts: My review is based on 1150 socket.
Probably enough for entry to low mid level gaming computer.
More coolers should allow you to install the rear brackets first.
Needs to separate the top brackets and a part that holds cooler to the top brackets.

5 out of 5 eggsKeeps it Cool

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: Works great, very cool, looks awesome.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Very large, would need to have at least a big mid-tower if not full-tower to contain it. FX-4350 idles at 36C and ramps up to 46C under full load.

5 out of 5 eggsCM Hyper 212 EVO

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: Replaced the Intel cooler with this on an i5-3470 in an ASUS Z77-A inside a Corsair 200R and the installation went flawlessly. Thank goodness the case allows access to the back of the mobo or else the mobo would have to be removed to put those nuts on the back of the board.

Cons: No cons

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect cooler for the price!

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: Cools my AMD APU A10-6800K very well.

At idle at this very moment I am at 32°C as a push pull config.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Just take your time while installing. Instructions can be difficult to understand. Just watch many YouTube videos and that should help.

Always look at you case dimensions and the cooler dimensions. They should always have max size measurements in the books and allow you to know if it will fit.

1 out of 5 eggsMy last Cooler Master product

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: NONE

Cons: Cooler Master has NO tech support.

Other Thoughts: Posting empty and meaningless lip service replies to bad reviews does not count as Tech Support.

There is PLENTY of competition out there for my company's business which I am taking elsewhere.
