5 out of 5 eggsAwesome air cooler

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: Cools even my AMD 9590 better than H20 from C*****.
Evo Cooled my intell rig before that using the same hardware and I didnt have to go looking for the bits that most coolers use for one or the other, very handy.

Cons: Mine did not come with brackets for push pull, only one set for one fan.
Had to pull the board from the case to install the Evo backplate.
Cannot seem to locate extra brackets on CM www for 2 fans.

Other Thoughts: I upgraded my Amd 8150 to 9590 and thought the h20 unit that cooled the 8150 would be sufficient, boy was I wrong !! 160F wrong ! Yes h20 was installed correctly ( thermal paste was where it should be and ambient temps were 71' f ) which i verified when I removed it to put on the Evo that I had on old lga 1336. With the Evo , Temps were exactly where they should be 98' f and less and have stayed there this last week. I do have excellent airflow in through and out. Prime testing pulled the temps up 131' f but nothing approaching the 160 I had when I first booted up the 9590 with Co**** h20. After reading that this beast really needed a High end cooling solution I have been very happy with this Evo 212.
I have a huge case so size was not a problem but do measure to be sure. I had no problems with ram impingement on Sabretooth 990fx Gen 2

Pros: Cooled my AMD 6300 well enough for the auto over clock to hit 4.3gigs! I love this cooler!

Cons: Nothing

5 out of 5 eggsWay Cool

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: *Cool
*Quietish
*Nice packaging
*Easy install

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: This cooler took my AMD FX-4100 temps way down. Running stock at idle with the stock cooler I would be around 30-40 degrees Celsius. Now set up with a push/pull (plus rear exhaust fan, total of 3 fans working) with the Evo i get around 15-20 degrees Celsius at idle. I am able to safely run my 4100 at 4.2Ghz (1.570Volts) at 100% load with any game i throw at it while staying under 40 degrees Celsius. It does what its supposed to do VERY well.

P.S Anyone with an AMD fx-4100 don't be afraid to overclock this CPU. My frames in games such as BF3, BF4 and Borderlands 2 have jumped dramatically. Stock setup I would get around 30-40 frames due to the cpu bottleneck, now I get 60 solid fps across all the games at near max settings (paired with the same GTX 660 oc) without a sweat. This 34 dollar CPU cooler and a little bit of OC research has changed my PC completely and I now have no need for an upgrade! BUY IT!

5 out of 5 eggsNice Fan

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: Keeps my overclocked FX-6300 cool, unlike the stock fan or the Arctic fan I replaced.

Quiet. I can't even hear it.

Cons: Very large. Entirely covers one of my RAM slots.

I couldn't get the $5 mail-in rebate. The form I was sent to said I didn't buy it in the correct time frame...but I did. Right?

5 out of 5 eggsVery Impressed - Outperformed Expectations

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: Overall, it's a great value. Good cooling performance at a great price. I picked one up as a temporary replacement when my Hydo cooler's pump burned out. I received the RMA replacement for the Hydro cooler, but I'm just going to keep the EVO 212 on there because the temps are just fine.

If I need more cooling performance in the future, then I'll put the Hydro back on...but even then, the EVO 212 will serve as a nice back up if the Hydro's pump ever goes out again.

Cons: The installation is a bit awkward as many people have already stated, but it's not that bad. Just take your time and use your brain - building a computer should never be an absent-minded rush job.

5 out of 5 eggsExceeded Expectations

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: Included in a package so expectations where very low to begin with, but once opened the cooler is a nice piece. Used on a i5-4690k and it keeps the fully loaded CPU under 60c, which is really good. It’s very quiet, and the fan also appears to be a quality piece. The instructions are very easy to follow, and the included mounting options cover all sockets used by Intel, and AMD over the last 5 years. I have no doubt this could probably handle a 10%-15% O/C with a little added voltage without an issue.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Its great when things just work.

4 out of 5 eggsGood fan, but fan came broken

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: Great size, heat dissipation

Cons: The fan came broken, but cooler still did the job. Difficult install for a new builder (probably important since this is the #1 fan and many new builders will buy it).

Other Thoughts: Even though fan came broken, I would still buy again.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome. Definitely a must if you're aircooling.

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: Awesome cooler. Definitely will use in other builds. I am cooling an i-7 4790K. Clocked to 4.3ghz, it idles at 35c reaching only about 50c under load.

Cons: It is kind of big so I would make sure you're case can accommodate before you buy.

Slow fan speeds may spit out errors.

Also, the installation is kind of a pain in the a**.

Other Thoughts: All in all I would recommend.
