5 out of 5 eggsQuiet & Cool

Pros: Well constructed and sturdy. I used this in a 4u rack mount with a ATX mother board and AMD 8 core processor. I have a graphics card in this system for video processing. With just two 80mm case fans input, two 60 mm fans and PSU as exit fans, the S524 is blowing down on the MB and processor. The temps are staying in the high 20c to low 30c with normal use and upper 30's to very low 40's Celsius when under a load. I like this a lot as the case is only 12" deep. The heat sink allows normal memory in all slots. I would use memory that does NOT have extra heat spreaders to assure an easy install. In this tight case I put a fan screen which was easily mounted to the surface with fan screws.

Cons: I can not think of any as this fan fits my needs for maximum cooling and quiet operation.

Other Thoughts: I am very happy that I bought this fan. It is not flimsy like many that you see. It also has a flat finished surface to apply heat sink compound.

5 out of 5 eggsOverall Great Cooler

Pros: Great Heatsink and Fan. CPU does not get above 40 and it also doubles as a memory cooler since it is directly above the RAM. Awesome!

Cons: After a couple years of use, the fan makes noises, not a very loud noise, but it does get annoying. Going to see if CM will replace it.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat product

Pros: Keeps 5800k APU very cool and if you know anything about the 5800k it runs very hot in the 60's sometimes. This heatsink and fan kept it in the low 40's even under load.

Cons: It is a little bit big

4 out of 5 eggsWorks well, but is huge

Pros: Keeps my overclocked 4770K cool and is very quiet.

Cons: It is huge, which may block slots depending on your MB and/or case. It blocks a PCI x-16 in my ASUS Maximus Hero.

Other Thoughts: As a CPU cooler it performs its functions flawlessly. My main qualm is that if I can't use a second video card for SLI, since this CPU cooler blocks the closest PCI x-16 slot in my Maximus Hero VI (in a Corsair 500R Carbide case) I currently have no plans for an SLI setup, but if I ever go that route I will have to replace the Cooler Master GeminII S524with a smaller CPU cooler.

5 out of 5 eggsRunning Cold

Pros: This thing keeps your CPU seriously cold. The fan it comes with is nice due to it's "wavey-ness", so it catches little dust. The option to put a bigger fan on is nice too. My cpu never goes over 45c with intense use.

Cons: It's huge! Make sure you have a case with sufficient space, because you'll need it! Must have a 4 pin connection on your MOBO, otherwise the fan controller with freak out and may give you an error saying the fan is not working..... If you can even boot, since most BIOS's have CPU prevention when it doesn't detect the fan.

Other Thoughts: Due to it's bulkiness it's kind of hard to mount the motherboard since you have to put this heatsink on first. Also, if you're ram is in the right spot you can place the overhang right over it (if you're sticks aren't protruding to far. e.g. heatsinks on the top of them) & cool them as well.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Cooler!!

Pros: SUPER quiet, well made, fantastic unit. Clears my RAM modules perfectly! Look great and comes with excellent hardware and heatsink thermal compound.

Cons: None at all!

Other Thoughts: Installed in a gaming-ready computer running an AMD FX-8320 Vishera 3.5GHz 8 Core Processor. Dropped my temps from the 40's & 50's to the mid to low 30's (normal surfing, spreadsheet, powerpoint, light gaming, etc. use.).

Will buy again for sure!

4 out of 5 eggsBIG

Pros: The cooler is very well made and dose it's job well. You have lots of cord to play with. The height it sits above the ram is enough for my G-skill rip jaw x dimms. It's mount is solid and has very little movement once the bolt it down.

Cons: I took one egg off for this. Now it is a pain in the *** to install ram after you put this cooler in. In fact I would say cant or should not. You will have to take the cooler off first. I would have like to have seen a higher flow fan. The stock fan dose fine but it can be better.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend this heat sink. If you need a nice big heat sink but don't have the height needed for a stand up 120mm. You should be fine getting this cooler.

3 out of 5 eggsYou get what you pay for...

Pros: Worked fine for roughly a year.

Cons: Takes up a lot of space inside the case. Dead after 1 yr

5 out of 5 eggsGreat low-profile cooler

Pros: Low profile, yet has mounts for a 120mm or 140mm fan. Keeps an Intel Core 2 Duo CPU coolAF, no worries keeping this server below 60C.

It's also the perfect shape for my motherboard. The CPU is located very very close to the edge of the board (wut) so I have the main body of the cooler hang over the center of the board, with the heatpipes just barely touching the top of the case.

Cons: HUGE. Also, a PITA to install. But for that price and efficiency, it's worth it.

Also, it's sold out on Newegg and Ama*on. It's a shame, since I needed to buy 3 more for other builds.

5 out of 5 eggsPro Tips below

Pros: Very quiet and efficient. You have the option to upgrade to larger fan (120mm upgradeable to 140mm), but i haven't seen a need to do so. CPU runs cool at all times with stock fan.

Multiple brackets available for easy install. No plastic [junk] pins to break during installation. Screws in snugly and easily.

Multiple possibilities for positioning, though only 1 way fits in my rig.

Excellent thermal grease included.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: You will most likely need to remove your mobo to install the bracket on the back.

If you place over RAM as recommended, be warned that high fins on your RAM may not clear. I swapped finned RAM to far side and fin-less RAM to near side and it fit, fortunately. 47mm ground clearance.
