A silent storm aroused by Hyper 612 PWM brings you the ultimate CPU silent cooling solution. With the use of PWM fan Hyper 612 PWM can run at low noise but keep excellent cooling performance thanks to its massive dimensions, wider fin gaps, and a special heat pipe layout that has all 6 heat pipes crossing the CPU’s “hot spot.” The Hyper 612 PWM CPU coolers are designed for optimum heat dissipation at low fan speeds to rescue you from noise nightmare.

  • newegg Copper base with Unconventional layout of heatpipe direction Full copper base and 6 heatpipes which cross CPU “hot zones” allow for high performance and efficient heat transfers.
  • newegg Wider fin gaps The wider fin gaps maximize cooling performance at low fan speeds.
  • newegg Resistance reduction cutouts Resistance reduction cut-outs in the aluminum fins reduce weight and improve cooling performance.
  • newegg Dual-fan design with quick–snap fan bracket Hyper 612 PWM supports an optional 2nd 120mm fan to increase cooling performance. The quick-snap fan cover allows for a quick and easy installation of fans.
  • newegg Cool accordingly The wide range PWM fan (600 – 2000 R.P.M.) provides versatile performance for full loading efficiency and for quiet idling.

4 out of 5 eggsSolid Temps

Pros: Easy to install. Keeps my CPU running at great temps.

Cons: a bit large and the fan on it wont be read by my MOBO. Tried other fans and they work fine. So atm I have another fan sitting on top that is plugged into primary while the connected fan is in the AUX fan control. Want to get this fixed but im not taking my MOBO out to take it off.

5 out of 5 eggsKeeps my i7 2600k running very cool

Pros: This heatsink keeps my CPU running very cool. I was playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 with all of the settings maxed out for several hours and my CPU was running at 26 Degrees Celcius. Although I have not overclocked my CPU yet, I plan to do so in the near future (I just have not got around to it yet... lazy). Everything works well and the set up is pretty simple.

Cons: This is not necessarily a con, but it is a warning/advisory. This heatsink is very large, when installing it I highly recommend putting your RAM in before you do anything involving the heatsink. At least on my motherboard, the heatsink covers the first two RAM slots (A1 and B1). It is still possible to put a stick into B1 with the heatsink in on my motherboard, but it was quite difficult and scary. I didn't even try A1 (It looked impossible). It should fit in Mid Tower cases, but I would check before buying because I think the Antec 900 is a large Mid Tower. Again this is not a con in my opinion, just something to think about and helpful information.

Other Thoughts: Here is my setup.
Antec 900 Case 1st version
ASrock P67 EXTREME4 GEN3 Motherboard
Intel Core i7-2600K
G.SKILL Sniper Series 8GB (2 x 4GB)
Thermaltake TR2 RX 750W
XFX HD-687X-CNFC Radeon HD 6870 2GB
Western Digital Caviar Black WD1502FAEX 1.5TB
and this CPU Heatsink COOLER MASTER RR-H612

1 out of 5 eggsi changed my review

Pros: looks good

Cons: not that good

Other Thoughts: i had reviewed this before and gave it a good rating but after using it over a week i did not like the temps i was getting so i did a test between the hyper 212 and this 612 i reseated the 612 and did a 30min test with prime95 the idle temps were 28,26,29,25 at 100% load the temps were 79,82,83,78, then i mounted the 212 the idle temps were 27 25,28,23, and at 100% for 30min were 69,73,75,67 as you can see the 212 has better temp, at first i could not believe the 212 could be better than the 612 so i remounted the 612 one more time and i got close to the same temps as before so the 612 is going back, i think what makes the 212 better is the direct contact heat pipes all test were done with artic silver paste im using the 2600k @ 4.8 ghz with 4.4 vcore

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

We are sorry for any inconvenience we have caused you. We thank you for your comment and will do everything we can to improve for the future. The 612 has an rpm of 600-2000 rpm which fluctuates depending on what's running. Again, we apologize, please contact us on Live chat if you have any other questions.

Respectfully,
CMUSA Customer Support

4 out of 5 eggsgood but

Pros: cools good im using it on the 2600k overclocked to 4.8 ghz i replaced the hyper 212 + with this and im only getting a few degrees cooler idle in the high 20s and high 60s to low 70, 100% load

Cons: not worth the difference compared to the 212 its also about twice the size of the 212

Other Thoughts: i would buy again only if i didnt have the 212, if you have the 212 or something like it its not worth the upgrade, i used 2 fans on both coolers

1 out of 5 eggsdefective

Pros: none

Cons: Base of cooler is machined wrong. Two of the 4 mounting holes are machined all the way through instead of a recessed lip for the screw to hold on to. This makes the Cooler useless, I don't know how Cooler Master lets this pass inspection. Will RMA and update whennew unit is recieved.

Other Thoughts: Cooler master please fix your CNC program for this part.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear customer, we are sorry to hear you are having trouble with our cooler. Please contact us via the Live Chat link below so we can rectify the situation. Respectfully - CMUSA Customer Support.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat!

Pros: Easy to install. Read the Instructions though before you just try to slap this on. Cools my 2600k around 28 C which is way better than they stock cooler.

Cons: Fan gets in the way of the ram so i had to flip it to accommodate. Otherwise nothing so far.

Other Thoughts: This heatsink was way larger than I thought it was going to be but having the HAF 932 Full Tower has plenty of space for it.

3 out of 5 eggsHUGE

Pros: Big fan, big heat sink, big cooling.

Cons: This is just two huge for my case. It looked too big for my CM elite 430, so I bought a smaller one.
Maybe it'll fit in a different computer.

Other Thoughts: If you've never installed a custom heatsink/fan before (like me), don't choose this one.
The pictures don't do well on framing the size of this thing.
It's probably a great heatsink/fan if you plan your build better than I did.
