4 out of 5 eggsA lot of cool air!

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper T2 - Compact CPU Cooler with Dual Looped Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: QUIET, and a lot of heat dissipation even with the processor overclocked at its highest speed.

Cons: HUGE! I have a Mid-Tower and it barely fits!!!!

The crossbar that is for AMD processors is simple, yet incredibly hard to get to connect to the mobo's brackets without the bar coming undone from the center of the heatsink (note the two dips in the photo for the product). Took me about 7 times to get it right!

Other Thoughts: I ONLY recommend this product if you have a large case because it is quite the duty to get it right in a mid-tower the first time.

3 out of 5 eggsHyper T2 not worth it for i3-4150

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper T2 - Compact CPU Cooler with Dual Looped Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Do not need access to back of motherboard to install.

Cons: Noisy, and only a modest improvement over stock cooler (2-5C).

Other Thoughts: Prime95 easily overwhelmed the stock cooler on my i3-4150. To avoid having to remove the motherboard, I tried the Hyper T2. However, Prime95 still caused my CPU to overheat, even with ample case ventilation (case temp <30C). It's also considerably louder than the stock cooler.

Frankly, I'm disappointed. IMO, an aftermarket cooler should substantially outperform the cooler it is intended to replace, and this one doesn't. Next time I'll get a 212 or equivalent.

4 out of 5 eggsSolid and Efficient

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper T2 - Compact CPU Cooler with Dual Looped Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: This Cooler Master CPU cooler is great for the price. You know you can trust Cooler Master. Direct contact heat pipes keep the CPU cool. It is lightweight and it is a PMW(Pulse With Modulation) so if you think it is noisy you can have their speed controlled by your motherboard's PWM capabilities and software.

Cons: The only problem is that the fan feels kinda cheap. it feels like if you remove it you have to do it carefully or it will snap in half.

3 out of 5 eggsDecent, but not quite there

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper T2 - Compact CPU Cooler with Dual Looped Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: -Price
-Light weight
-Easy enough mounting (stock intel clips)

Cons: -Cheap construction (see other thoughts)
-Only slight improvement over stock cooler

Other Thoughts: Very cheap construction, the heatpipes along the base actually separated from the base a smidge on one side. Very little performance gains over stock cooling, however gains none the less (hence the 3 stars). Still, in my opinion I don't think the gains are worth the few bills...look elsewhere, there's better for the money.

4 out of 5 eggsNice CPU cooler, but very tall

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper T2 - Compact CPU Cooler with Dual Looped Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Does better than a stock cooler (get a better thermal paste and make sure you clean and apply it appropriately)

Cons: Much taller than other CPU coolers, so be careful with size on this one. In my micro atx build, I had to take the fan off to squeeze the ram underneath, and my side tower fan had to be removed and replaced with a smaller skinnier version. If you're buying this for a micro atx, make sure the ram has a bit of distance from the cpu, an it's a wider than average case.

4 out of 5 eggsIt Works

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper T2 - Compact CPU Cooler with Dual Looped Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: It works for a wide variety of processor socket types, and it keeps your processor fairly cool, fairly quietly at an affordable price.

Cons: In comparison to some other cheap, smaller heatsink I had, it didn't cool it down by much more at all. It's annoying because when you use it for Intel processors, even once it's clicked in and secured, you can still sort of wobble it and twist it around slightly, and it REALLY makes it feel like something's wrong (even if it's actually fine). It's just not AMAZING at keeping your CPU cool, that's all. But it works.

Other Thoughts: It's still worth it for the price I suppose, and the fact that it works for almost any processor is another bonus.

4 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper T2 - Compact CPU Cooler with Dual Looped Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Great budget CPU cooler. Reduced temps from stock Athlon II X2 by 15C and allowed headroom for overclocking.

Cons: The included thermal paste is of low quality. I decided to go with Artic Silver Ceramique.

Other Thoughts: I've seen some reviews mentioning that the fan is too loud. The fan is PWM, so if you find it too loud either adjust its speed in your BIOS or use a program like Speedfan. I run mine at 1200RPM and it's totally silent.

1 out of 5 eggsNever Again

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper T2 - Compact CPU Cooler with Dual Looped Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: none

Cons: Stock fan kept my cpu at 40c, this fan 92c-100c, and thats just when I'm in the web, and to make things even worse ITS VERY NOISY.

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsCooler Master Hyper T2

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper T2 - Compact CPU Cooler with Dual Looped Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: I have this on a Intel 4130 I3 CPU. This is by better than the stock fan from Intel. Intel Idle around 45c and The T2 is around 41cat idle. Medium use Stock Fan from Intel 55c and T2 50c.

Cons: None listed yet. I will list a later review on the T2

Other Thoughts: It does look like this Heatsink and fan should be used only on most Intel Dual Core, I3, and some I5,s. I am looking at other users out here in the Chicagoland area.
